SHIPS AND AIRCRAFT TRANSFERR RESTRICTION) ACT, 1939.
General Sanction For The Transfer of Certain Ships.

In pursuance of the powers conferred on them by the Ships and
Aircraft (Transfer Restriction) Ad, 1939, the Board of Trade here-
by approve of the transfer of the registry of a ship to which the
said Act applies, from a port of registry in lay of the countries and
territories referred to in Section 11 (1) of the said Act to another
port of registry in the same country or territory, and of the trans-

fer of a port of registry of a ship to which the said Act applies from
any of the countries or territories (other than the United Kingdom)
referred to in Section 11 (1) of the said Act to a port of registry
in the United Kingdom.

The sub-joined Notice given under The Acquisition of Land Act
(Ch. 265) is published for general information.

NOTICE OF POSSESSION
GIVEN UNDER
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND ACT CHAPTER 265

WHEREAS by Notice No. 252 dated the 15th September, 1953,
and published in the Official Gazette dated the 21st September,
1953, the Governor in Council declared that it was his intention
to acquire the land described in the Schedule hereto.
AND WHEREAS claims for compensation have been lodged by
Samuel Pinder, William Pinder and Benjamin Pinder with the Co-
lonial Secrerarv for the said land.
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby notified that the selected land
has been appropriated by the Governor in Council for the purpose
mentioned in the said notice with effect from the date of this notice.
Dated the 14th day of January, 1954.

SCHEDULE.
All that certain tract or parcel of land known as Tract No. GB-
322 and situated in the vicinity of Long Bay Field Point approxim-
ately 3.5 miles east of Riding Point cn the southern shore of the
Island of Grand Bahama, Colony of the Bahamas, Bri'ish West
Indies, as outlired on map File No. F54AI3553, by this reference
made a part hereof, and more particularly described as follows:
From the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Triangulation Station, "High
Rock", located near Riding Point approx. No. 680 19' E. 1027.49 feet
from the southwestern corner of the tract of 40 acres granted to
William Russell in 1830 (C.L.O. Boot B page 142), go North 73
degrees 08' East, 17,649 feet to the centre of a brass disc set in col-
crete on the mean high water mark of the southern shore of Grand
Bahama Island, which is the point of beginning.
From the point of beginning the boundaries of Tract No. GB-322
extend thence, leaving said mean high water mark, North 18 degrees
03' West, 346.25 feet to the centre cf a brass disc set in concrete,
thence North 71 degrees 57' East, 160.00 feet to a point, thence North
18 degrees 03' West, 912.41 feet to a point on the southern Right-
of-Way boundary line of the Mill No. 8 to Pelican Point Road op-
posite Sta'ion 980/11.99 on the centre line of said road, thence along
said southern Right-of-Way boundary line North 79 degrees 47' East,
100.94 feet to a point opposite Station 961/12.93 on the centre line
of the said road, thence leaving said southern Right-of-Way bound-
ary line, South 18 degrees 03' East, 898.65 feet to a point, thence
North 71 degrees 57' East, 141.25 feet to the centre of a brass disc
set in concrete, thence South 18 degrees 03' East, 344.26 feet to the
centre of a brass disc set in concrete on the mean high water mark
of the southern shore of Grand Bahama Island, thence along said
mean high water mark, South 71 degrees 37' West, 401.10 feet to the
point of beginning and containing 5.20 acres more or less, said tract
No. GB-322 being a part of that tract of land of 420 acres originally
granted to John Knowles in 1827 (C.L.O. Book B page 129) and com-
muted by Joseph Pinder in 1847 (C.L.O. Book C2 page 186).
The foregoing Notices numbered 8 to 13 are published by com-
mand.

Higgs, Esquire, M.H.A., Attorney-at-Law, for the Sealing of Probate
of the Will of the aforesaid Ernest Charles Miller granted to The
Royal Trust Company of the City of Vancouver, Province of British
Columbia, the sole Executor in the said Will named, on the 25th
day of August, 1953.

TREASURY NOTICE
REAL PROPERTY TAX

Notice is hereby given that Real Property Tax in respect of the
quarter ending 31st March, 1954 became due on the 2nd of January,
1954.
2. Property Owners, who are still in arrears in respect of the
year ended 31st December, 1953, are reminded of the provision of
Section 11(a) of the Real Property Tax Act 1938, under which legal

action is required to be taken by the Treasurer in respect of any
amount in arrear for more than thirty (30) days.
3. It is also pointed out that Authority is given to the Court
by Section 16 of the Act to impose on persons adjudged to pay any
taxes payable under the Act a, penalty of 10% of the taxes due in
addition to such taxes and the costs of the suit.

Consumers are hereby notified that all Water and Sewerage
bills for the Quarter ending December 31st, 1953 have been rendered
and these accounts must be settled on or before February 16th, 1954.
Bills should be presented to the Public Treasury at the times
of payment. Persons not having received a bill should apply at
the office of the Public Works Department and request a duplicate.

Special Jurors who attended the Supreme Court during the Oc-
tober Sessions for the trial of Case.

are hereby notified that the fees due to them in respect of their
attendance will be paid at the Registrar General's Office on Jan-
uary 21st, 22nd and 23rd next.
If possible, Jurors should apply in person, but in cases where
this is not practicable, monies will be paid to any authorised person
presenting a written order signed by the Juror.
Jurors receiving an amount exceeding Two Pounds are reqvuied
to bring a 2d s'amp or 2d in cash to cover stamp duty on receipt.
