GOVERNMENT NOTICES.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S OFFICE

The following Government Notice is published as a Supplement
to this Gazette.
NO. 1. The Immigrants Rules 1939 Amendment Rules 1954.

NO. 2. His Excellency the Governor has approved the following
appointments:
Mr. Byron E. Pinder, Assistant Superintendent of Prisons,
to act as Superintendent of Prisons in conjunction with the
duties of his own office with effect from the 1st January,
1954.
Major Kenneth O'Brien Harding, O.B.E., to be Aide-de-
Camp and Clerk to the Executive Council with effect from
the 14th December, 1953.
Mr. D. S. Morrison, Harbour Engineer, to act as Harbour
Master in conjunction with the duties of his own office with
effect from the 1st January, 1954.
Mr. G. T. Kerr, Chief Machinist on probation, to be con-
firmed in his appointment with effect from the 1st Decem-
ber, 1952.

NO. 3. The following staff movements are notified for general in-
formatioin:-
LEAVE
Captain R. M. Millar, O.B.E., Superintendent of Prisons,
ten weeks vacation leave with effect from the 1st January,
1954, to be followed by ten weeks leave on half pay.
RESIGNATION
Captain R. A. Russell, Harbour Master, with effect from
the 1st January, 1954.

NO. 4.
It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-in-Coun-
cil, acting under the authority of Section 6 of the Public Holidays
Act, 1938 (Ch. 15) has authorised the carrying on of business in
any shop between the hours of noon and 5:00 p.m. on Friday, the
8th January, 1954.
