REGULATIONS
Made Under
THE PENAL CODE (CH. 60)

In exercise of the powers
conferred upon him by section
231 of the Penal Code, the Gov-
ernor in Council hereby makes
the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be
cited as the Street Traffic
(Amendment No. 3) Regulations
1953.
2. The Street Traffic Regula-
tions 1950 are hereby amended
by adding thereto after Regu-
lation 14(c) the following:
(d) ride or push a bicycle
upon such public place
or street more than
two abreast."
3. These Regulations shall
come into effect on the First

TRAFFIC NOTICE

On the occasion of the Re-
membrance Service at the
Cenotaph on the Library Green
on Sunday, 8th November, 1953,
the following traffic arrange-
ments will be made:
1. Parliament Street between
Bay Street and Shirley
Street will be Closed to All
Traffic and Parking will
be Prohibited from 11:45
a.m. until the end of the
ceremony at approximately
12:45 p.m.
2. Bank Lane will be closed
to Through Traffic and will
be utilised for the parking
of vehicles of officials and
others attending the cere-
mony.
Members of the Public not
taking any official part but who
wish to attend the ceremony
are requested, if they use their
cars, to park them as far along
Bay Street and other authoris-
ed parking sites as possible and
proceed to the Library Green
on foot, as the parking space
in the vicinity of the Library
Green is strictly limited.
There will be no restriction
on traffic proceeding East
along Shirley Street EXCEPT
that traffic in the vicinity of
the Library Green will be held
up during the Two Minutes Sil-
ence which forms part of the
ceremony and drivers of motor
vehicles are requested to switch
off their engines if so held up.
The co-operation of all driv-
ers of motor vehicles is re-
quested to avoid, as far as pos-
sible, driving along Shirley
Street in this vicinity during
the service.

TRAFFIC NOTICE

RESURFACING OF BAY
STREET


The Public Works Department
will commence the resurfacing
of Bay Street on Monday, 9th
November from the British Co-
lonial Hotel gates eastwards.
Sections of the road will be
closed to traffic as the work


proceeds and there 'will be no
parking in the sections con-
cerned.
Special notice boards will be
provided to give direction for
alternative routes and the pub-
lic is requested to co-operate
by complying with the tem-
porary notices and drive with
caution.
The closing of any particular
section of the road and the al-
ternative traffic route will as
far as possible be announced
daily over ZNS.
