Council by section 3(4) of the
Industries Encouragement Act
1951 the following Order is
hereby made:
1. This Order may be cited as
the Industries Encouragement
Order No. 1 of 1953.
2. The Bahamas Tobacco
Company Limited is hereby
registered as a factory to man-
ufacture Cigars primarily in-
tended for export, subject to
the conditions and restrictions
as set out below.

REMEMBRANCE DAY
It is hereby notified for gen-
eral information that Hei Ma-


jesty the Queen has approved
of Sunday the 8th November
being observed as Remem-
brance Day this year, and it is
hoped that all Churches in the
Bahamas will arrange Com-
memoration Services on that
day.
2. His Excellency, the Acting
Governor, will be attending the
service at Christ Church Cathe-
dral at 11:00 a.m. He will wear
uniform and be attended by
Members of the Executive
Council. At this Service seats
will be reserved (on applica-
tion to the Dean of Nassau) for
close relatives of those who fell
in either of the two Wars.
3. Any organisation wishing
to be represented at this Ser-
vice should communicate with
the Dean of Nassau not later
than Thursday the 5th of No-
vember.
4. At 12:15 p.m. a Service will
be held at the Cenotaph on the
Library Green which will be at-
tended by His Excellency the
Acting Governor.
5. Positions are being allo-
cated at this Service for Mem-
bers of the Executive and Leg-
islative Councils and Members
of the House of Assembly and
their wives as well as for For-
eign Consuls. Organisatlons,
and relatives of the fallen. The
public and organizations parti-
cipating in the ceremony are
asked to take up their positions
as early as convenient.

Silence and before the playing
of the National Anthem,
wreaths will be laid by the Act-
ing Governor, the Chief Justice,

latives of the fallen and repre-
sentatives of organizations in
that order.
7. Any organisation wishing
to be represented or lay a
wreath at the service at the
