In exercise of the powers
conferred on the Supreme
Court by Section 81 and 170
of the Companies Act (Chapter
83) the following Rules are
hereby made.
SHORT TITLE AND
COMMENCEMENT
1. These Rules may be cited
as the Companies (Liquidation)
Rules 1953 and shall come into
operation on the date of pub
location in the Official Gazette
RULES
2. The Rules of the High
Court of Chancery to Regulate
the mode of Proceedings under
the Companies Act of England
of 1862 (25 and 26 Vict ch. 89)
issued by the Lord High Char
cellor on llth November, 1862.
shall apply to the Colony, sub-
ject to such modification and
alteration as to names, locali-
ties, Courts, officers, persons
penalties, and otherwise as
may be necessary to make then
applicable to the circumstances
of the Colony, but so that the


said rules are within the mean-
ing of and not inconsistent
with the provisions of the Con-
paniies Act (Chapter 83).
