Universities

The attention of students is
directed to the followmg:-
1. Severe competition still
exists for entry to Medical
Schools and to Faculties of
Dentistry, Engineering and Sci-
ence where a high standard of
attainment in Science is re-
quired.
2. Entry to the Universities
of Oxford, Cambridge and Lon-
don is most difficult to secure.
3. Owing to the number of
candidates seeking admission
to the Universities it is neces-
sary that all applications for
the 1954/55 session should be
in the hands of the Director
of Education, Nassau, before
the following dates:-
(a) Medical August 1st,
1953.
(b) Dentistry, Engineering,
Science, Teacher Train-
ing and admission to Ox-
ford and Cambridge Col-
leges October 30th,
1953.
(c) All other Faculties and
Colleges December 31st,
1953.
4. Further particulars may
be obtained from the Director
of Education to whom all in-
S quiries should be made.

THE PILOTAGE ACT
(Ch. 143)


In exercise of the powers
conferred upon the Pilotage
Board by section 46 of The
Pilotage Act, the Pilotage Board
for New Providence with the
approval of the Governor in
Council hereby makes the fol-
lowing Rules:
1. These Rules may be cited
as The Pilotage Rules, 1952
(Amendment) Rules, 1953.
2. The Pilotage Rules, 1952
are hereby amended by adding

thereto after Rule 18(b) the
following:
"(c) Any person committing
a breach of Rule 18(b)
shall be liable on sum-
mary conviction to a
penalty of 200 foi

THE AIRPORTS BOARD ACT
(No. 20 of 1947).

In exercise of the powers
vested in it by Section 7 of The
Airports Board Act, the Board,
with the approval of the Gov-
ernor in Council hereby makes
the following Rules:-
1. These Rules may be cited
as the Landing and Accommo-
dation Fees (Oakes Field)
(Amendment) Rules, 1953, and
shall come into force on the
fifteenth day of July, 1953.
2. The Landing and Accom-
modation Fees (Oakes Field)
Rules, 1951, are hereby amend-
ed by deleting therefrom the
Third Schedule.
