PROCLAMATION
No. 1 of 1953,
WHEREAS by Section 8 of an
Act to incorporate the Trustees
of the Church of God of Pro-
phecy of the Bahamas it is pro-
vided that the Act shall not
come into operation unless and
until it is notified by Procla-
mation that it is Her Majesty's
pleasure not to disallow the
same.
NOW THEREFORE I, Major-
General Sfr Robert Arthur Ross
Neville. Governor as aforesaid
do hereby proclaim that inti-
mation has been made to me
that Her Majesty the Queen
will not be advised to exercise
her powers of disallowance
with respect to the Act afore-
said.
GIVEN under my hand and the

City of Nassau in the Island
of New Providence, this 30th

THE MAGISTRATES ACT
(Ch. 43).

WHEREAS by section 10 of
the Magistrates Act the Gov-
ernor in Council may by Order
in Council nominate any jus-
tice of the peace, and empower
him to try cases singly within
the limits of any district or
area defined by the order and
during the period specified in
such order;
NOW THEREFORE the Gov-
ernor in Council in exercise of
the powers vested in them by
the said section 10 of the Magis-
trates Act hereby nominate Mr.
William McPherson Christie.
Justice of the Peace to try
cases singly in the City of Nas-
sau in the Island of New Provi-
dence in respect of offences
against the Motor Car Act 1943
(No 10 of 1943) and all rules
made thereunder, the Cycle
Registration Act 1936 (No 10
of 1936) and section 229 sub-
sections (16) to (29) and (34),
section 230, section 231 and
section 232 of the Penal Code
(Chapter 60) and all rules made
under the said sections.
This Order shall come into
force on the First day of Julh
1953 and shall expire on tho
Thirtieth day of September,
1953
