mation.

NOTICE OF POSSESSION
Given Under
THE ACQUISITION OF LAND
ACT (Ch. 265).
WHEREAS by Notice No. 185
dated the 23rd August, 1952 in
the Official Gazette of 23rd
August, 1952, the Governor in
Council declared that it was his
intention to acquire All that
certain tract or parcel of land
situated in the immediate vicin-
ity of Robbin Creek and about
11/4 mile Southeast of Hawks
Nest Point near the Southwest-
ern tip of Cat Island, Colony of
the Bahamas, British West In-
dies, as outlined on a map,
File No. E52TF1910, on record
in the Crown Lands Office, and
more particularly described as
follows:
From the most northerly
corner of a tract of 40 acres
granted to John Gater in 1790,
which said corner is marked by
a stone pillar, go thence South
39 degrees, 17' West, 2386.0 feet
? to the centre of a brass disc set
7/ in concrete near the southeast-
ern shore of Robbin Creek
which is the point of beginning
1 /0-0 of the said tract of land.
From the point of beginning
the boundaries of said tract ex-


tend thence South 41 degrees,
26' West, 228.6 feet to the centre
of a brass disc set in concrete
at the mean high water mark
of the south-western coast of
Cat Island, thence along said
mean high water mark of said
southwestern coast South 44 de-
grees, 23' East, 641.2 feet to a
point, thence leaving said mean
high water mark North 41 de-
grees, II' East, 26.8 feet to a
brass disc set in concrete,
thence continuing North 41 de-
grees, 11' East, 206.4 feet to the
centre of a brass disc set in con-
crete, thence North 43 degrees,
26' West, 639.8 feet to the point
of beginning and containing
3.38 acres more or less.
AND WHEREAS no claims
for compensation have been
lodged with the Colonial Secre-
tary for the said land NOW
THEREFORE, it is hereby no-
tified that the selected land has
been appropriated by the Gov-
ernor in Council for the purpose
mentioned in the said notice
with effect from the date of
this notice.

ber, 1952.

It is hereby notified that His
Excellency the Governor-in-
Council, acting under the author-
ity of Section 6 of the Public
Holidays Act, 1938 (Ch. 15) has
authorised the. carrying on of
business in any shop after the
hour of 12 o'clock noon on Fri-
day, the 2nd January, 1953.
