VACANT POST OF SOLICITOR I, CROWN SOLICITOR'S DIVISION OF THE MINISTRY OF THE
ATTORNEY GENERAL AND LEGAL AFFAIRS

APPLICATIONS are invited from suitably qualified persons for appointment to a permanent and pensionable post of Solicitor I
in the Crown Solicitor's Division of the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs.

2. Particulars relating to the post are as follows:-
Salary : $7,080-$9,600 per annum (Range 49).
The commencing salary will be determined by the candidates' experience and ability.
Duties :
To assist the Crown Solicitor in the performance of his various duties as Crown Solicitor, Administrator
General, Public Trustee and Official Receiver including those of the Administration of the estates of deceased
persons, of bankrupts and of companies being wound-up, and also of estates being administered by the Public
Trustee.
Qualifications :
The candidate must be a fully qualified Solicitor and Conveyancer.

3. Appointment which will be subject to medical fitness, will be on two years probation and will be governed by
the Civil Service Regulations, 1967, and other regulations with respect to the Civil Service for the time being in force.

4. Applications should be submitted on the prescribed form which is obtainable at the Service Commissions Depart-
ment and should be addressed to the Director of Personnel Administration, Service Commissions Department, Red House,
Port-of-Spain, to reach him not later than the 31st March, 1969.

PRIVATE BILL-INCORPORATION OF THE TRUSTEES OF THE TRINIDAD SEVASHRAM SANGHA OF
TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with Standing Order 83 (3) (b) (i) of the House of Representatives Stand-
ing Orders that it is intended to introduce into the House of Representatives the above-mentioned Bill.
2. The Bill is published as a Supplement to this Trinidad and Tobago Gazette and copies may be purchased from
the Government Printer.
3. The object of this Bill among others is to Incorporate the Trustees of the Trinidad Sevashram Sangha of Trinidad and
Tobago in order to enable them to hold property and otherwise carry out the aims and objects of the Sangha.
4. Any person wishing to be heard in opposition to the Bill must lodge, with the Clerk of the House of Representa-
tives, a petition shewing the nature of his objection and stating whether his objection extends to the whole or some part
of the Preamble or to the Clauses of the Bill and praying that he be heard by himself or his Counsel against the Bill.

TENDERS FOR SUPPLY OF GRAVEL
1. St. Andrew-St. David District.
2. Tenders are invited for the supply to the above Ministry of:-
1,120 cubic yards of Ordinary Pit Run Gravel.
The material is to be supplied on spot between the 30-31 mile mark, Eastern Main Road.
3. Specifications can be obtained from the Secretary, Ministry of Works Tenders Committee, 3, Edward Street, Port-of-Spain,
during normal working hours.
4. Persons wishing to tender must pay into the Treasury, Port-of-Spain, or any District Revenue Office, a tender deposit of
$25.00 and attach the receipt to their tender.
5. Each tender must be accompanied by the usual up-to-date certificate from the Board of Inland Revenue.
6. The successful tenderer must make the contract binding by paying to the Treasury, Port-of-Spain, or any District Revenue
Office, within 7 days of being notified of award of a contract, a Cash Performance Deposit of $350.00. Refunds of deposits will be
made under the usual conditions.
7. Sealed tenders will be received up to 4.00 p.m. on Thursday, 27th March, 1969 and must be addressed to the Chairman,
Ministry of Works Tenders Committee. Envelopes must be marked, "Tender for the Supply of Pit Run Gravel-Ministry of Works,
St. Andrew-St. David District" and must be deposited in the White Tenders Box at this District Office at Sangre Grande.
Late tenders will not be considered.
8. The Ministerial Committee does not bind itself to accept any tender.

THE REGISTRATION (AMENDMENT) RULES, 1969


1. These Rules may be cited as the Registration (Amendment) Rules, citation
1969.

2. Paragraph (1) of Rule 49 of the Registration Rules, 1967, is revoked Registration
Rules
and the following substituted therefor- amended
"(1) The Commission may from time to time, but in any case
not later than ten years from the date of issue, by notice published
in the Gazette and in at least one daily newspaper, require every
holder of an identification card to surrender such card for inspection
and may, if it considers it proper, substitute a new identification
card with a fresh photograph for the identification card so sur-
rendered.".

THE AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES ORDINANCE, CH. 33. No. 3
ORDER
MADE BY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL UNDER SECTION 3 (1) OF THE
AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES ORDINANCE
THE AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES (BETTERBLOX LIMITED)
(MANUFACTURE OF CEMENT CONCRETE BLOCKS) ORDER, 1969
1. This Order may be cited as the Aid to Pioneer Industries (Betterblox
Limited) (Manufacture of Cement Concrete Blocks) Order, 1969.
2. Betterblox Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies
Ordinance, Ch. 31. No. 1, (hereinafter referred to as "the pioneer com-
pany") is hereby declared to be a pioneer manufacturer for the purposes
of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance (hereinafter referred to as "the
Ordinance") in relation to-
(a) its pioneer factory located at Lot 6, Milford Industrial Estate,
Tobago, and
(b) the manufacture of cement concrete blocks on a mass production
basis by scientific processes that were not employed in respect
of such manufacture in Trinidad and Tobago at the commence-
ment of the Aid to Pioneer Industries (Manufacture of Cement
Concrete Blocks) Order, 1956, (which declared certain scientific
processes to be a pioneer industry),
with effect from the 19th day of December, 1968, and the production day of
the said factory is hereby declared to be the 31st day of March, 1969.
3. This Order is subject to the following continued conditions that the
pioneer company shall:-
(i) maintain accounts in respect of their pioneer enterprise to the
satisfaction of the Board of Inland Revenue;
(ii) notwithstanding the exemption from income tax under section 8
of the Ordinance, submit annually a return of the income so
exempt from tax at the same time and in the same manner as
they would be required to do, if the income were not exempt
from tax;
(iii) observe the practice and policy prevailing in Trinidad and Tobago
with respect to labour relations and conditions of employment;
(iv) as far as practicable, recruit their employees through the Employ-
ment Exchange of the Ministry of Labour;
(v) maintain a plant capable of producing an average daily out-put
of 4,000 cement concrete blocks, each measuring 4" X 8"X 12",
or the equivalent thereof in cubic measurement, per normal
eight-hour shift working day;
and subject to the further condition that the pioneer factory shall be located
and shall remain located in Tobago.

AN ACT to amend the Aliens (Landholding) Ordinance,
Ch. 21. No. 3.
[Assented to 11th March, 1969]
BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, Enactment
by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and
House of Representatives of Trinidad and Tobago, and
by the authority of the same, as follows:-
1. This Act may be cited as the Aliens (Landholding) Short title
(Amendment) Act, 1969.

Ordinance 2. The Aliens (Landholding) Ordinance is amended-
Ch. 21. No. 3
amended (a) in subsection (1) of section 2 thereof by sub-
stituting for the definition of "alien" occur-
ring therein the following definition-
""alien" includes-
(a) an individual who is not a citizen
of Trinidad and Tobago;
(b) any firm, partnership or unincorpo-
rated body of persons of which any
member is not a citizen of Trinidad
and Tobago;
(c) any company not incorporated in
Trinidad and Tobago or if incorpo-
rated in Trinidad and Tobago is
under alien control as defined in
section 6 or is controlled by an
alien.

(b) in section 3 thereof-
(i) by inserting the words "nor any
share, debenture nor other interest
in a company" immediately after
the word "Colony" occurring in line
three of subsection (1) therein;
(ii) by inserting the words "or share,
debenture or other interest in a
company" immediately after the
word "mortgage" occurring in line
four of subsection (1) therein;
(iii) by adding after paragraph (e) occur-
ring in subsection (2) therein, the
following paragraphs-
"(f) any share, debenture or
other interest in a com-
pany held or acquired by
an unlicensed alien from
an alien after the com-
mencement of the Aliens
(Landholding) (Am e n d -
ment) Act, 1969, shall not
be (forfeited.";

(g) Nothing in this Ordinance
as amended by the Aliens
(Landholding) (Amend-
ment) Act, 1969 shall affect
the estate or interest of a
person who becomes an
alien by virtue of the
amendments made by the
said Act, in any land or
mortgage in land or the
holding of any share, de-
benture or other interest
in any company held by
him at the commencement
of the said Act.";


(c) by inserting immediately after subsection (2)
.of' section 8 thereof, the following sub-
sections-
"(3) Any person who becomes an
alien by virtue of this Ordinance as
amended by the Aliens (Landhold-
ing) (Amendment) Act, 1969 and
to whom the provisions of subsec-
tions (1) shall apply on the com-
mencement of the said Act shall, for
the purposes of the said subsection,
be deemed on the commencement of
the said Act to have been granted a
licence in accordance with the said
subsection.

(4) Any licence deemed to have
been granted under subsection (3)
shall have effect for such period as
the Governor-General may deter-
mine";


(d) in section 13-
(i) by re-numbering subsection (1)
thereof as section 13;
(ii) by repealing subsection (2) thereof.
