NOTICE

Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan
Trinidad and Tobago Post-Graduate Scholarship
in Tropical Agriculture, 1977

Under the Commonwealth Scholarship-Fellow-
ship Plan, the Government of Trinidad and
Tobago is making available one (1) award for
post-graduate studies/research in Tropical Agri-
culture leading to a post-graduate degree or
diploma, where appropriate, and tenable at the
University of the West Indies, St. Augustine,
Trinidad, effective fromn the academic year
commencing October, 1977.
The area of study will be limited to the research
and teaching facilities available at the University
of the West Indies, St. Augustine.
This award is tenable for two (2) academic
years in the first instance (unless the course of
study is for a shorter period), with a possibility
of its being extended for a third year, in the
absolute discretion of the Government of
Trinidad and Tobago, if the candidate's work
attains such a standard that he is recommended
by the University Authorities to study for the
Ph.D degree.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be Commonwealth citizens
or British protected persons normally resident in
the nominating country. Applicants must already
have a first degree or equivalent qualification
in Agriculture from a recognized institution of
study at the time of application. As a
general rule, applicants should not be
more than thirty-five (35) years of age on
1st October, 1977. Preference may be given to
cAhdidates between twenty-two (22) and twenty-
eight (28) years of age. A detailed statement from
the University of institution of higher learning
from which the applicant graduated must
accompany each application form.
Grenadian Nationals should address their appli-
cations to the Permanent Secretary, Planning,
Development and Training, Prime Minister's
Office, Botanical Gardens, Tanteen, St. George's,
to teach the office not later than 30th November,
1976.

"Ships" issue of stamps will be released for sale
at the General Post Office on Wednesday
3rd November, 1976.

Denominations are , 1f, 20, 25o, 75o, $1.00
and $5.00. Souvenir Sheets at $2.00 each will
also be available.

These stamps will be on sale for a period of
three months from the date of issue or until stocks
are exhausted whichever is sooner.

REGULATION OF TRAFFIC

Remembrance Day-Sunday November 14, 1976


By virtue of the powers vested in me under
Section 80 (1) of the Motor Vehicles and Road
Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 194, page 2556 of the
Revised Laws of Grenada, Volume II I hereby
order that the undermentioned streets in the
Town of St. George's be closed to Vehicular
Traffic on Sunday November 14, 1976 at the
time stated hereunder for the purpose of
Remembrance Day Service.

(a) Melville Street from its junction with
Hillsborough Street, to its junction with
Cross and Bruce Streets from 10.15 to
11.30 a.m.

(b) Granby Street from its junction with Mel-
ville Street to its junction with Grenville
Street:

(c) Halifax' Street from its junction with
Hillsborough Street to its junction with
Cross and Gore Streets;

(d) Hillsborough Street from its junction with
Grenville Street to its junction with Mel-
ville Street;

(e) Vehicles will not be permitted to park or
wait at the Market Square or on any of
the above mentioned Streets that are closed
to Vehicular Traffic, during the period
10.15 a.m.to 11.30 a.m.

In the matter of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(Cap. 153) of the Revised Laws of Grenada.


It is hereby notified for general information that,
in pursuance of the powers vested in Him under
the Land Acquisition Ordinance Cap. (153) of the
Revised Laws of Grenada the Governor-General
acting in accordance with the advice of the
Cabinet of Grenada has been pleased to appoint
Mr. Norris Williams to be the Authorised Officer
for the purpose of the acquisition of the lot of
land mentioned and described in the schedule
hereto.

SCHEDULE

All that lot, piece or parcel of land situated at
Westerhall in the Parish of Saint David con-
taining by estimation 80 acres more or less and
believed to be owned by or under the control of
Westerhall Estates .Limited, and, or George
Williams and John Otway.

The said lot is bounded as follows:-
Starting from the bridge near the Sugar
Cane Cultivation running in a north
westerly direction along the public bye-way
that leads to Beaton Place, and then along a
road eastwards along lands of Joseph James and
others, to the ridge which abounds the eastern

side of the estate: Thence along the said ridge
adjoining the Old Westerhall Land Settlement:
Then westward to the St. Louis River, ending

DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND
(FIRST PUBLICATION)
WHEREAS it is provided by Section 3 of the
Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153) of the
Revised Laws of Grenada that if the Governor-
General acting in accordance with the advice of
Cabinet of Grenada considers that any land
should be acquired for a public purpose, HE may
cause a declaration to that effect to be made.
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor-
General acting as aforesaid that the land
mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto
should be acquired for a public purpose.
Now, THEREFORE, in the exercise of the powers
vested in Him by Section 3 of the land acquisition
Ordinance, the Governor-General acting with the
advice of the Cabinet of Grenada is pleased to
declare, and it is hereby declared that the land
mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto
shall be acquired for a public purpose, to wit, for
the purpose of Housing lots, Gardens lots and
Communal facilities.

It is hereby notified for general information
that in persuance of the power vested in Him
under the Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153)
the Governor-General acting in accordance with
the advice of the Cabinet of Grenada has been
pleased to appoint Mr. Edmund Lessey to be
the authorised officer for the purpose of the
acquisition of a lot of land mentioned and
described in the schedule hereto:-
SCHEDULE
All that lot, piece or parcel of land known as
Bellevue Estate in the parish of Saint Andrew
containing by estimation 163 acres more or less
and believed to be owned by or under the control
of Messrs. Dr. Walter Lessey, Anna Lessey, Joan
Lessey, Elizabeth Pike and Mrs. V. O. Lessey.

Bellevue Estate in the parish of Saint
Andrew and believed to be owned by
Messrs. Dr. Walter Lessey, Anna Lessey,
Joan Lessey, Elizabeth Pike and Mrs.
V. O Lessey is to be acquired for a public
purpose to wit, for the purpose of Housing
lots, Garden lots and communal facilities.
DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND
(SECOND PUBLICATION)
WHEREAS it is provided in effect by Sec-
tion 3 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(Cap. 153) of the Revised Laws of Grenada that
if the Governor-General acting in accordance with
the advice of the Cabinet considers that any land
should be acquired for a public purpose HE may
cause a declaration to that effect to be made.
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor-
General acting as aforesaid that the land men-
tioned and described in the schedule hereto
should be acquired for a public purpose.
Now, THEREFORE in the exercise of the powers
vested in HIM by Section 3 of the Land Acquisi-
tion Ordinance, the Governor-General, acting with
the advice of the Cabinet of Grenada is pleased
to declare, and it is hereby declared hereto shall
be acquired for a public purpose, to wit, for the
purpose of Housing lots, Garden lots and
communal facilities.
SCHEDULE
