NOTICE OF ISSUE OF WRITS OF ELECTION

I Hereby give notice that following on the dissolution of Parliament the Governor-General has
issued Writs of Election dated 5th November, 1976 under the Public Seal of Grenada addressed to
the returning officers of the respective constituencies for which members of the House of
Representatives are to be returned.
The day fixed for nomination of candidates in each of the respective constituencies is Thursday
18th November, 1976 between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon and the places for such nomination
are as follows:--

NOTICE OF ELECTION OF A MEMBER FOR THE CONSTITUENCY OF
TOWN OF SAINT GEORGE
His Excellency the Governor-General having issued his writ for the election of a member of
the House of Representatives for the Constituency of Town of Saint George the Returning
Officer of the said constituency will on the 18th day of November, 1976 now next ensuing between
the hours of 9 a.m. and noon at Former Town Hall Building proceed to the nomination, and if there
is no opposition, to the election of a member for the constituency of Town of Saint George.

Forms for nomination papers may be obtained at the office of The Returning Officer at
Former Town Hall Building between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily except on Saturday
when the office is closed at 12 noon. (Sunday also excepted).

Every nomination paper must be signed by any six or more electors qualified to vote in the
constituency of Town of Saint George and be handed to the Returning Officer between the said
hours of 9.00 a.m. and noon.

No nomination paper shall be valid or acted upon by the Returning Officer unless it is
accompanied by-
(a) the consent in writing of the person therein nominated, and
(b) a deposit of one hundred and twenty dollars in cash.

In the event of the election being contested the poll will take place between the hours of
7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on 7th December, 1976 and the counting of votes will take place thereafter
at Former Town Hall Building on 8th December, 1975 at the hour of 9.30 a.m. and at such places
as may hereafter be appointed.

Every nomination paper must be signed by any six or more electors qualified to vote in the
constituency of Parish of Saint Andrew South-East and be handed, to the Returning Officer between
the said hours of 9.00 a.m. and noon.
No nomination paper shall be valid or acted upon by the Returning Officer unless it is
accompanied by-
(a) the consent in writing of the person therein nominated, and
(b) a deposit of one hundred and twenty dollars in cash.

In the event of the election being contested the poll will take place between the hours of
7 a.m. and 5. p.m. on 7th December, 1976 and the counting of votes will take place thereafter
at Carriman's Premises on 8th December, 1976 at the hour of 9.30 a.m. and at such places
as may hereafter be appointed.
