Commonwealth Scholarship a-d Fellowsh'p
Plan-Canadian Awards 1977


Applications are invited from suitably qualified
candidates for Scholarships under the Common
wealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan tenabl
in Canada.
Scholarships are open to persons who are citizen
of Grenada, normally resident in Grenada or ir
any part of the Commonwealth other that
Canada but students already in Canada cai
apply. However, any one who has applied for
permanent admission to Canada shall not be
eligible for an award.
Scholarships will be awarded for advanced
study or research leading towards a University
degree or similar qualifications. Before taking up
a scholarship, a student must hold a Bachelor's
or Master's degree from a recognized university,
or some equivalent qualification. In exceptional
cases an award may be made to a graduate who
wishes to study for another undergraduate degree
or may be made to an undergraduate if the pro-
gramme of studies he/she wishes to follow is not
available in his/her country.
The scholarships are open to men and women
who will not have reached their 35th birthday by
31 October, 1977.
Applications must reach the Permanent Secre-
tary, Planning, Development a.n,d- Training
Division of the Prime Minister's Office not later
than 31st October, 1976.
Applicants must state clearly-age, qualifica-
tions and intended course of study.

Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship
Plan-U.K. Awards 1977



Applications are invited from suitably qualified
candidates for Scholarships under the Common-
wealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan tenable
in the United Kingdom.
The Scholarships aim at providing opportunities
for Commonwealth students to pursue advanced
courses or undertake research in Britain and are
primarily available for postgraduate study or re-
search at Universities but may be held for
research or courses at other institutions, e.g. in
the fields of adult, social or rural education, of
fine art, of architecture, or of industrial design.
They may be awarded in special circumstances
for courses of undergraduate study.


ICandidates must be Grenadian citizens resi-
dent in Grenada or any other part of the
Commonwealth other than the United Kingdom,
who are or, by the time of taking up an award in
1977, will be graduates of a Uniyersity or college
or holders of an equivalent qualification. Appli-
cations w.ll also be considered from such persons
I without a degree or similar qualification who
-wish to take a first course in Britain, provided
e they are normally resident in a country where no
University or college offers courses in subjects of
s their choice.

It is hqreby notified- for nepneral information
that due to an outbreak of swine fever (hog
cholera) in four Eastern Seaboard States of the
United States of America a total ban on a coun-
try basis has been placed on the importation of
Pork and Pork products from the United States
effective immediately and until further notice
Importers are therefore advised to cancel all
outstanding orders for these items from the
United States and to seek alternative sources of
supply.
