An Induction Course for all young people
Secondary Schools of Grenada will be held during
the two weeks commencing 16th August, 1976, at
Grenada Teachers' College.

that in pursuance of the power vested in Him
under the Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153).
The Governor-General acting in accordance with
the advice of the Cabinet of Grenada has been
pleased to appoint Mr. Clive Alexander to be the
Authorised Officer for the purpose of the
Acquisition of a lot of land mentioned and des-
cribed in the schedule hereto:--

All that lot, piece or parcel of land known as
Perseverance Estate, in the Parish of Saint
George containing by estimation 280 acres more
or less and believed to be owned by or under
the control of Halifax Investments Limited.

nor-General that a lot of land known as
Perseverance Estate in the Parish of Saint
George and believed to be owned by, or under
the control of Halifax Investments Limited to be
acquired for a public purpose to wit, for the pur-
pose of a Land Settlement.

DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND
(SECOND PUBLICATION)
WHEREAS it is provided in effect by Section 3
of the Lands Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153) of
the Revised Laws of Grenada that if the Gover-
nor-General acting in accordance with the advice
of the Cabinet of Grenada considers that any
land should be acquired for a public purpose He
may cause a declaration to that effect to be
made:
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Gover-
nor-General acting as aforesaid that the land
mentioned and described in the schedule hereto
should be acquired for a public purpose, to wit,
for the purpose of a Land Settlement.
Now, THEREFORE, it is hereby declared by the
Governor-General acting in accordance with the
advice of the Cabinet of Grenada that upon the
Second Publication of this declaration in the
Gazette the land mentioned and described in the
Schedule hereto shall be acquired for the above-
mentioned purpose and shall vest absolutely in
the Crown.

POST OF SPANISH TUTOR

For the Town of St. George

Applications are invited from suitably quali-
fied persons for the above-mentioned post.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess at
least four G.C.E. O'Level subjects and should be
able to speak and write spanish fluently.

Teacher Training would be an added
advantage.

Duties: To teach written and spoken spanish
in the Post Primary Classes of schools in the town
of St. George and selected schools of the Parish
of St. George.

Salary: will be paid in the scale appropriate
to the qualification of the successful candidate or
in the scale $4,164x 180-$5,784 per annum
(plus interim salary increase).

Applications for the post should reach the
Chief Education Officer on or before 27th August,
1976.

RELEASE
It has been brought to the notice of the
Ministry of Labour that employers concerned
have not been complying with the provisions of
the Provident Fund (Agricultural Workers) Act,
1969 (No. 8 of 1969), in regard to the deduction
and payment to the Treasury of the amount of
15 cents per day worker for welfare from the
wages of daily paid workers in their employ.
The Ministry wished to emphasise thai
employers who fail to pay to the Accountant
General at the Treasury or at any District
Revenue Office the above-mentioned deductions
made from the wages of the workers in their
employ are guilty of an offence against the Act.


SThe penalty for such an offence is a fine, on
summary conviction, not exceeding two thousand,
five hundred dollars ($2,500) or imprisonment
for a term not exceeding twelve months.
Arrangements have accordingly been made for
one officer each from the Ministry of Labour,
Treasury and the Police Department to call upon
the defaulting employers for prompt collection
of the sums deductible from the wages of workers
employed by them.
