Tenders are invited for the issue of Grenada
Government Treasury Bills which will be made m
the amount of $1,503,000.
These Bills will be in denominations of $1,000
and $50,000 and will be payable at par ninety-one
days after the date of issue. They will be issued on
Wednesday, 24th March, 1976, and payable on
Tuesday, 22nd June, 1976.
Each Tender must be for an amount of not less
than $1,000 and must specify the amount which
will be given for every ONE HUNDRED
DOLLARS of the amount tendered.

Supreme Court Registry

A PPLICATIONS are invited from suitably

town of St. George are informed that Warrants
will be issued to Bailiffs for.:'thp, recovery of
Sewerage and General Rates and Fines thereon
in respect of the year 1975 and previous years.
All persons whose payments are in arrears in
respect of General and Sewerage Rates are asked
to have their accounts settled immediately.
After March 31, 1976 recovery of the amounts
in respect of the aforementioned Rates may be
made through sale of the properties concerned.

RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT
CORPORATION
BELMOPAN, BELIZE

Pre.qualification of Contractors for Construction
of Urban Working Class Housing

The Government of Belize is negotiating with
'the Caribbean Development Bank a loan for an
'Urban Working Class Housing Project to be
built in Belmopan and Ladyville, utilizing funds
from the U.S. Agency for International Develop-
ment, A.I.D. The Project comprises construction
,of urbanization and 200 low income houses with
an area of approximately 450 square feet per
iuit. It is intended that payment for work per-
formed by contractors under this programme will
be made utilizing the proceeds from this loan.
The Government of Belize invites contractors
interested in construction of urbanization or
Tiouses or both to submit pre-qualification data
including:
(a) experience and record in construction of
similar projects, and


(b) size of firm, staffing, equipment and
S financial situation.
Only contractors whose. principal place of
business is in a member country of the Caribbean
Development Bank, or the U.S.A. or any other
eligible country may bid. Development Bank,
Barbados and at the Reconstruction and Develop-
ment Corporation, Belmopan, Belize. Construc-
tion will be given for the award of contracts in
multiples of 25 houses or for the entire project.
Only contractors who have pre-qualified will
be invited to submit tenders. Pre-qualification
data should be fowarded in sealed envelopes
addressed to the Chairman, Joint Committee,
Urban Working Class Housing Project, Belmopan
Belize, and should arrive on or before 31st March,
1976. A copy of the data should be forwarded to
the Caribbean Development Bank, P.O. Box 408,
Bridgetown, Barbados, West Indies.

Pre-Qualification of Contractors-Contract
'"D"-Otn-Shore Facilities

THE Government of Barbados proposes to
award contracts for the Expansion and Improve-
ment of the Port of Bridgetown (Deep Water
Harbour) which will partly be financed with :a
loan from the Inter-American Development
Bank.

2. The Project consists of three elements:
(a) expansion and improvement of the:
existing Deep Water Harbour inzlud-
ing an extension of the main wharf,
construction of a transit- (container)
shed, renovation and modification of
an existing transit shed and construc-
tion of a two-storeyed Administration
Building;
(b) creation of a new Shallow Draft
Facility including the construction of
a new 513' long wharf and a new'
transit shed;
(c) creation of a new Bulk Handling
Facility including the construction of
an 80' x 77' loading platform con-
nected to land with berthing/ moor-
ing dolphins and mooring points on
land.
3. Contract "D"-On-shore Facilities-is ex-
pected to be let by August, 1976, for an
estimated time of construction of about
17 months. Contract "D" will include:--
(i) a transit (container) shed of steel frame
construction or approved alternative
400' long by 143' wide;
(ii) a transit shed of steel frame construc-
tion or approved aterative 400' lcng
by 90' wide;
(iii) modifications to an existing transit
shed over an area of approximately
5,000 square feet to create passenger
facilities, a mail centre and similar
facilities;
(iv) paving, fencing, gatehouses, grading
and similar site work;
(v) installation of services including:
(a) sanitary facilities
(b) potable water
(c) power
(d) lighting
(e) telephone
(f) drainage
t. In order to be considered for pre-qualifi-
cation contractors must be from one of the
following countries:-
(i) countries which are members of the
Inter-American Development Bank;
(ii) relatively undeveloped countries which
are members of the International
Monetary Fund; or
(iii) developed countries which have been
declared eligible by the Bank for this
purpose.

5. This Notice relates to Contract "D" only
which will we awarded as a single Unit-Price
Contract based on bills of Quantities. Applica-
tions are now invited from contractors wishing
to qualify for inclusion in the Register of
Contractors to be invited to tender for the con-
tract. Only contractors who pre-qualify will be
invited to tender.

Qualifications:
Men or single women under 45 years of age,.

Duties:
1. Classroom teaching and demonstrating nurs-
ing practice, both in training school and in
hospital wards and departments.
2. Reporting to Principal Tutor on effects of
teaching.
3. Interviewing students and pupils nurses on

4. Assessing the progress of student and pupil
nurses in consultation with Clinical
Instructors and reporting thereon to the
Principal Tutor.
Terms of Appointment:
The posts are on contract with the Government
of Zambia for one tour of 24 to 36 months, but
the minimum tour to earn a gratuity is 30 months.
Gratuity:
On satisfactory completion of the minimum
tour of 30 months a gratuity of 25% of gross.

Salary and Allowances:

The appointment may be on a permanent and
pensionable basis or on contract for a period of
two to three years and will be subject to medical
fitness. Salary $13,200 E.C., plus pay addition of
$900 per annum along with Overseas Service Aid
Scheme allowances where the successful candi-
date qualifies for these. If on contract 25% of
salary is payable as gratuity on successful
completion. Private practice is not allowed, but
an allowance of 25% of salary is payable in lieu
thereof. A transport allowance is attached to the
post.
Passages:

Free passages-in the case of a contract, retiur
passages-will be provided for the officer, his
wife and children not exceeding six persons in
all. Children must be under 18 years of age,

Quarters:

If Government quarters are available these will
be rented to the officer at a rental not exceeding
121% of salary up to a maximum of $100 per
month. An OSAS officer will be eligible for fur-

Leave:

Thirty (30) working days per annum out of
which twelve (12) working days compulsory
leave must be taken annually. Leave will be
granted only after one (1) year of resident
service.

Duties:

The Officer is the Head of the Medical and
Health Department and will be required to advise
the Minister of Health on all medical and public
health matters in the State, including the or-
ganisation and supervision of all Medical
Institutions and District Health and Medical
Services; also to carry out such other duties not
inconsistent with those of the post which may be
assigned to him by his Ministry.

Estates Limited; the Caribbean Develop-
ment Corporation are to be acquired for a
public purpose.
DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND
(FIRST PUBLICATION)
STHEREAS it is provided in effect by Sec-
tion 3 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(Cap. 153) of the Revised Laws of Grenada that
if the Governor-General acting in accordance
with the advice of the Cabinet of Grenada con-
siders that any land should be acquired for a
public purpose HE may cause a declaration to
that effect to be made.
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Gover-
nor-General acting as aforesaid that the lands
mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto
should be acquired for a public purpose, to wit,
for Co-operative Fanning and a housing project.
Now, THEREFORE, it is hereby declared by the
Governor-General acting in accordance with the
advice of the Cabinet of Grenada that upon the
Second Publication of this declaration in the
Gazette, the land mentioned and described in the
schedule hereto, shall be acquired for the above-
mentioned purpose and shall vest absolutely in
the Crown.

Grand Anse in the parish of St. George and

PRE-QUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF FACTORY
SHELLS AT POWELLS HILL, COOLIDGE,
ANTIGUA, WEST INDIES


DURING April/May 1976, the Antigua and
Barbuda Development Bank will invite price
tenders from pre-qi dlified contractors for the
construction of factory shell; at Powells Hill.
The Project will include :
1-The erection of two factory shells of
approximately 6,000 sq. ft. and 20,000
sq. ft. in either reinforced concrete or
prefabricated structural steelwork with
all required concrete footings, floors,
wall, roofs etc.
2-External pavings and roads of approxi-
mately 4,000 sq. ft. and 10,000 sq. ft.
respectively.
3-Basic utility and service run with a
sewage unit.
Although separate tenders will be invited for the
two buildings, pre-qualification at this time will
cover the entire project.
Interested firms that have satisfactorily com-
pleted similarworks should submit pre-qualification
data to the General Manager Antigua and Barbuda
Development Bank, 27 St. Mary's Street, St. John's,
Antigua, and forward a copy to the Caribbean
Development Bank Wildey, St. Michael, Barbados,
W.I. not later than 31st March, 1976.
Pre-qualification data forms are available from
the Antigua and Barbuda Development Bank,
Antigua.

joint ventures whose principal place of
business is in one of the member countries
of the Caribbean Development Bank, in the
USA or in West Germany".
