has appointed MR. WINZEY BRUNO to be a
Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court of Grenada
and the West Indies Associated States with effect
from 1st May, 1975. The Honourable MR.
JUSTICE BRUNO is assigned to the State of
Dominica.

THE Judicial and Legal Services Commis-
sion has appointed MR. CECIL EGERTON
HEWLETT to be a Puisne Judge of the Supreme
Court of Grenada and the West Indies Associated
States with effect from 11th December, 1975. The
Honourable MR. JUSTICE HEWLETT'S principal
duties will be to serve Montserrat and the British
Virgin Islands and to perform any other duties
which may be assigned to him by the Chief
Justice.

THE Public is hereby notified that a Special
I "Fauna Flora" issue of stamps will be
released at the General Post Office, St. George's,
on Tuesday, 20th January, 1976.
Denominations are t, 1l, 2o, 5o, 35o, 40o and
$2.00. Souvenir Sheets at $1.00 will also be
available.
These stamps will be on sale for a period of
three months from the date of issue or until
stocks are exhausted, whichever is the sooner.

RELEASE

It has come to the attention of the Ministry of
Finance that Traders commit regular breaches of
the Stamp Ordinance Cap. 383, as amended, by
their failure to affix the appropriate Stamp Duty
on bills and/or receipts, thereby denying Gov-
ernment of its due revenues under the Law.
The attention of the public is accordingly
drawn to the provisions of the Stamp Ordinance
which stipulate the penalties that may be
imposed on persons who have been successfully
prosecuted for contravention of the Provisions of
the Ordinance. The Police, the Inspectorate
Division of the Inland Revenue Department and
the Price Control Inspectors are being alerted to
conduct regular checks on Traders to ensure that
bills and/or receipts issued to customers in pay-
ment of monies for services rendered are duly
stamped.

IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUSTICE

NOTICE is hereby given that a Session of the
High Court at Grenada in its Criminal Jurisdic-
tion will be held at the Court House in the town
of Saint George's on Tuesday the 3rd day of
February, 1976 at 9.30 o'clock in the forenoon
when and where all concerned and bound over to
prosecute or to give evidence or summoned as
Jurors or Witnesses are required to give their
personal attendance, and all officers who have
taken inquisitions, depositions, examinations,
recognisances or other papers cognisable by the
Court are required to return the same without
delay to this office.

In the matter of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(Cap. 153)
It is hereby notified for general information
that in pursuance of the power vested in Him
under the Land Acquisition Ordinance, Cap. 153),
the Governor-General acting in accordance with
the advice of the Cabinet of Grenada has been
pleased to appoint Mr. Christopher Brathwaite to
be the Authorised Officer for the purpose of the
acquisition of the lot of land together with
buildings thereon mentioned and described in the
schedule hereto.

ALL the lot, piece and parcel of land together
with buildings thereon situate in the town of
St. George and believed to be owned by or under
the control of the beneficiaries of the estate of the
late S. A. Francis.
The said lot, piece and parcel of land together
with buildings thereon is bounded as follows: -
On the North by Young Street, on the South
and East by Monckton Street, on the West by
Government lands known as the Drill Yard, or
however the same may be abutted, known,
bounded or described.
Dated this 10th day of January, 1976.

AND
In the matter of a Declaration by the Governor-
General that certain land situate on
Monckton Street in the town of St. George,
is to be acquired for public purpose.

DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND
(SECOND PUBLICATION)
W HEREAS it is provided in effect by Sec-
tion 3 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
,(Cap. 153) of the Revised Laws of Grenada that


if the Governor-General acting in accordance
with the advice of the Cabinet of Grenada con-
siders that any land should be acquired for a
public purpose he may cause a declaration to
that effect to be made.
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Gover-
nor-General acting as aforesaid that the land
mentioned and described in the schedule hereto
should be acquired for a public purpose, to wit,
for the general improvement of the amenities of
that area of the town and parish of St. George.
Now, THEREFORE, it is hereby declared by the
Governor-General acting in accordance with the
advice of the Cabinet of Grenada that upon the
Second Publication of this declaration in the
Gazette, the land mentioned and described in the
schedule hereto, shall be acquired for the above
mentioned purpose and shall vest absolutely in
the Crown.
