TREASURY BILLS-ISSUE NO. 11

Tenders are invited for the issue of Grenada
Government Treasury Bills which will be made in
the amount of $1,500.00.
These Bills will be in denominations of $1,000
and $50,000 and will be payable at par ninety-one
days after the date of issue. They will be issued on
Wednesday, 24th December, 1975, and payable
on Tuesday, 23rd March, 1976.
Each Tender must be for an amount of not less
than $1,000 and must specify the amount which
will be given for every ONE HUNDRED
DOLLARS of the amount tendered.
Bills will be issued in denominations appropriate
to the amount requested in the tender.
Application forms are available at the
Treasury and, when completed, should be
forwarded to the Treasury in sealed envelopes
addressed: Confidential

All applications must reach the Treasury not
later than 11.00 a.m. on 19th September, 1975.
Successful applicants will be notified by letter
not later than 22nd December, 1975.

RELEASE

It is hereby notified for general information
that authority has been delegated with effect from
December 1, 1975 to District Revenue Officers in
Carriacou and St. Andrew's for the approval of
applications for Foreign Exchange under the new
Exchange Control Regulations in respect of travel
for vacation and business purposes, payments for
imports and standing orders for magazines,
periodicals and Premia on old insurance policies.

The Examinations are schedule to take place
during the period Monday, 7th June, to Friday,
2nd July 1976, except in respect of the following,
which will be held before 7th June, and for which
the dates and times will be notified in due course.
Music Aural Tests.
Oral Tests in Modem Languages.
Practical Test in Cookety.
Entries for Cookery, Needlework and Dress-
making, Music and Science Subjects cannot be


accepted unless satisfactory arrangements are
made before-hand with Principals of Schools for
Practical Tests.
A fee of $2.00 is payable by each candidate for
each Oral Test direct to the Oral Examiner.
There are forbidden combinations in respect of
certain subjects, and candidates are reminded of
this regulation.
The completed Entry Form must in every case
be accompanied by the Treasury Receipt as
evidence of payment of the Examination Fees
which fees must be paid into the Treasury (or
Revenue Office) on or before Wednesday,
31st December, 1975.
Entry Forms for Private Candidates will be
made available by early December.

In the matter of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(Cap. 153)

It is hereby notified for general information that
in pursuance of the power vested in Him under
the Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153), the
Governor-General acting in accordance with the
advice of the Cabinet of Grenada has been
pleased to appoint Mr. Sylvester Sandy to be the
Authorised Officer for the purpose of the acquisi-
tion of the lot of land mentioned and described
in the schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

ALL that lot, piece or parcel of land situate at
the Carenage in the town of St. George contain-
ing 351 square feet and believed to be owned by
or under the control of the beneficiaries of the
estate of the late Lillith Preudhomme.
The said lot, piece or parcel of land is bounded
as follows:-
On the North by lands belonging to the estate
of Mrs. Lillith Preudhomme, on the South by
Crown Lands, on the East by lands belonging to
T. E. Noble Smith, on the West by lands belong-
ing to Evelyn Ross, or howsoever the same may
be abutted, known, bounded or described.

Grenada. is to be acquired for a public
purpose.
DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND
(SECOND PUBLICATION)
SHEREAS it is provided in effect by sec-
t tio 3' of the Land Acquisition Ordiance
(Cap. T'539 of the Revised Laws of Grenada that
ii the Gbvemdr-General acting in accordance
-with the advice of the Cabinet of the State of
Grenada considers that any laid should be

AND WmHERAS it is considered by the Gover-

described in the schedule hereto shall be acquired
for the abbve-mentioned purpose and shall vest
absolutely tin the Crown.
And it is hereby further declared and notified
-that the land referred to is situate on the
Carnage in the town of St. George, Grenada,
and that a plan of the land prepared by
Michael? D. Lett, licenced land Surveyor may be
inspected at the lands and Surveys Division of the
Prime Minister's Office between the hours of
9.00 aim.-11.45 a.m. and 1.00 p.m.-3.00 p.m.
,on Mondays to Fridays.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Session of the
High Court at Grenada in its Criminal Jurisdic-
tion will be held at the Court House in the town
of Saint George's on Tuesday the 3rd day of
February, 1976 at 9.30 o'clock in the forenoon
when and where all concerned and bound over to
prosecute or to give evidence or summoned as
Jurors or Witnesses are required to give their
personal attendance, and all officers who have
taken inquisitions, depositions, examinations,
recognisances or other papers cognisable by the
Court are required to return the same without
delay to this office.

NOTICE

SCOPE OF WORK

Irrigation Works-Spring Hall Rural
Development Scheme

General:
The project area consists of approximately 850
acres of arable land on the former Spring Hall
group of plantations in St. Lucy, in northern Bar-
bados and includes Spring Hall, Friendship,
Mount Poyer and Chance Hall, an irregular
shaped area about 21 miles long by 1 mile wide


t its broadest. Much of the land is gently
mdulating with slopes of 100 being quite frequent
nd of 200 in stony outcrops.

The area lies within the 50 inch rainfall
ontour.
The object of the project is to develop a plan
or the maximum safe exploitation of the ground-
water resources in the above region and its
surroundings for the purpose of irrigating the-
trea. Already there are four active wells in the
rea.

)esign Phase:
1. The Consultant will be expected to familiar-
rise himself with the geology of the region
with particular reference to water bearing
formations, groundwater, movements, pre-
sence of harmful minerals and salts, the
strength and porosity of foundations for
proposed structures.
2. The Consultant will review and analyse hy-
drological data to determine rainfall rates.
and frequencies, infiltartion, ran-off,
groundwater storage and depletion and
losses due to evaporation and transpiration.
3. The Consultant will undertake sub-surface
investigations to determine the location, ex-
tent depth, character and permeability of
water bearing formations, the velocity of
underground flows and depth to natural
water surface. In addition information on
each well used should include drawdown,
circle of influence, water quality and
capacity.
4. The Consultant will prepare and submit for
preliminary approval plans for pumping
stations, supply system and associated
works. Upon arrival of the preliminary
submission, design and prepare final con-
tract drawings for the project.
5. The Consultant will develop and tabulate all
items entering into the construction with
the corresponding estimated quantities and
prepare all specifications and contract
documents.
An estimate of construction cost is to be
submitted to the client for his confidential
use.
6. Information as to the projected land use,
water demand and usage will be supplied
to the Consultant by the Ministry of
Agriculture.

Construction Phase:
1. The Consultant will be expected to assist in
securing bids, in analysing bids and in
letting contracts; and will furnish adequate
engineering services for the proper control
and supervision of the project
2. The Consultant will be expected to check
contractors estimates of work completed
and materials on site and to issue certificate
for payment.
