The Examinations are schedule to take place
during the period Monday, 7th June, to Friday,
2nd July 19/6, except in respect of the following,
which will be held before 7th June, and for which
the dates and times will be notified in due course.
Music Aural Tests.
Oral Tests in Modern Languages.
Practical Test in Cookery.
Entries for Cookery, Needlework and Dress-
making, Mus:c and Science Subjects cannot be
accepted unless satisfactory arrangements are
made before-hand with Principals of Schools for
Practical Tests.
A fee of $2.00 is payable by each candidate for
each Oral Test direct to the Oral Examiner.
There are forbidden combinations in respect of
certain subjects, and candidates are reminded of
this regulation.
The completed Entry Form must in every case
be accompanied by the Treasury Receipt as
evidence of payment of the Examination Fees
which fees must be paid into the Treasury (or
Revenue Office) on or before Wednesday,
31st December, 1975.
Entry Forms for Private Candidates will be
made available by early December.
The new scales of fees will be published as soon
as these have been received from the Syndicate.

Expansion and Improvement of the Port of
Bridgetown

Inter-American Development Bank Loan
No. 227/OC-BA

Pre-qualification of Contractors-Contract "A"
Dredging and Reclamation

T'`HE Government of Barbados proposes to
Seaward contracts for the Expansion and
Improvement of the Port of Bridgetown (Deep
Water Harbour) which will partly be financed
with a loan from the Inter-American Development
Bank.
2. The Project consists of three elements:
(a) Construction Works to improve and to
expand the existing Deep Water Har-
bour, including the following:-
(i) an extension to the main Wharf
(Quay Wall) approximately 600
feet long, with one mooring
dolphin, with a dredged depth of
32 feet below Low Water;
(ii) construction of a transit shed
(Container Shed) 400 feet long by
143 feet wide;
(iii) strengthening of and modifica-
tions to the Cross Berth;
(iv) renovation and modification of
existing Transit Shed No. 1 over
an area of approximately 5,000
square feet;
(v) construction of a two-storeyed
Administration Building 175 feet
wide:


(ii) dredging the area alongside the
berth to a depth of 38 feet below
Low Water;
(iii) reclamation of a strip of land
along the coastline to continue
Land's End Road into the re-
claimed area;
(iv) construction of a loading platform
connected to land, 80 feet by 77
feet, suitable for docking of
vessels of 30,000 tons displace-
ment weight, and supporting
equipment required by the grain
terminal;
(v) construction of four berthing/
mooring dolphins;
(vi) construction of two mooring
points on land;
(vii) ancillary services, continuation of
Land's End Road, including a
culvert crossing at Indian River,
street lighting, paving and fencing.
3. It is expected that Contract "A"-Dredging
and Reclamation-will be let by April, 1976, for
an estimated time of construction of about seven
months. Contract "A" will include-
(i) construction of dykes to retain approxi-
mately 1,000,000 cubic yards of dredge
fill. Dredging to be mostly to depths of
22 and 38 feet below Low Water with
some areas to be dredged to a depth of
40 feet below Low Water;
(ii) excavation of part of a spit of land;
(iii) reclamation of approximately 35 acres
of land in two separate areas, using
dredged materials;
(iv) armour for the protection of reclaimed
areas.
4. In order to be considered for pre-qualifica-
tion contractors must be from one of the following
countries:-


(vi) dredging; (i) countries which are members of the Inter-

Professional Engineering Services for Springhall

The Ministry of Agriculture, Barbados, invites
the submission of prequalification data from
interested consulting engineers in connection with
the development of an irrigation project at
Springhall, Barbados.
The scope' of the engineering works include
hydrogeological surveys, 'the preparation of
appropriate designs for the irrigation system
including pumping stations, main supply lines and
distribution lines, associated with the works, the
preparation of specifications and contract docu-
ments, the supervision and inspection of construc-
tion of payment certificates.
Financing of the project will be undertaken
jointly by the Ministry of Agriculture, Barbados,
and the Caribbean Development Bank, utilising
USAID funds.
Consideration is limited to Consultants whose
principal place of business is in one of the
member countries of the Bank or the USA or any
other eligible country. A list of the countries
which are not eligible is available at the Bank or
at the Ministry of Agriculture.
Prequalifications information submitted for con-
sideration should stress similar types of work
performed and the location thereof.
Consulting engineering firms, whether acting
singly or in joint ventures should each submit an
executed copy of a pre-qualification form which
may be obtained from the office of the Ministry
of Agriculture, Bridgetown, or from the Carib-
bean Development Bank, P. 0. Box 408, Bridge-

Ministry of Agriculture, Barbados
Prequalification of Contractors for Construction of
Irrigation Works

The Government of Barbados has received a
loan from the Caribbead Development Bank
utilizing USAID funds for the development of an
agricultural project which involves the construction
of an irrigation system, including pumping
stations, main supply lines, distribution lines and
associated works.
It is intended that the proceeds of this loan will
be applied to payments under the contract for
which this invitation is issued. Payments by the
Caribbean Development Bank or its agent will be
made on the basis of monthly interim certificates
of payment issued by Consulting Engineers.
The Government of Barbados accordingly
invites the submission of prequalification data
from interested contractors in connection with the
construction of this project.
Prequalification data submitted for consideration
should include:
1. The firm's experience and record on similar
job requirements.
2. The firm's capabilities as to size, efficiency,
management personnel, financial situation.
3. The availability of equipment.
Only contractors whose principal place of
business is in one of the member countries of the
Bank or the USA or any eligible country can bid.
A list of the countries which are not eligible
is available at the Bank or the Ministry of
Agriculture.
Only contractors who have prequalified would
be invited to bid.

Estate-St. Kitts

f HE Development and Finance Corporation, St.

pre-qualification data for the contsruction of
Industrial Factory Building at Ponds Pasture, St.
Kitts.
THE PROJECT WILL INCLUDE:--
1. The construction of concrete foundations,
concrete block walls, concrete floor, and
sanitary facilities;
2. The erection of pre-fabricated steel frame
building 100' X 200' supplied by the
Development and Finance Corporation,
togetg with roofing and rain water foods;
3. Provision of utilities;
4. External works including access road, drain-

The project is estimated to cost about
EC $500,000. (five hundred thousand dollars) and
will be financed by the Development and Finance

Contractors in connection with the proposed con-
struction of service reservoirs, intake structures,
treatment works, supply mains, distribution mains
and ancillary works in Dominica.


Separate contracts may be awarded for different
parts of the works.
Total estimated cost of the project excluding
cost of materials to be supplied by the Authority
(e.g. all pipework, reinforcing steel, waterworks
equipment) is approximately EC $1,320,000.
The project will be financed jointly by the
Government of Dominica, the Government of
Canada and the Caribbean Development Bank.
Consideration will be limited to Contractors or
joint ventures of contractors whose regular place
of business is in one of the following countries:
Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, British
Virgin islands, Canada, Cayman Islans, Colombia,
Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat,
St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla, St. Lucia, St. Vincent,
Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos, United
Kingdom, United States of America and
Venezuela.
Prequalification data must be received not later
than Monday, November, 17, 1975 and addressed
to:-
The Chief Engineer, Central Water Authority,
Roseau, Dominica, W.I. A copy is to be sent to
the Caribbean Development Bank, P. O. Box 408,
Wildey, Barbados, W.I.
Prequalification data submitted for considera-
tion should stress similar types of work performed
and location thereof. An important consideration
will be the Contractor's first hand knowledge of
the area and working conditions in the region.
The Central Water Authority will evaluate the
data submitted and will prepare a short-list of
contractors. The Contractors short-listed will be
requested to submit formal bids for the project.
The Government of Dominica will not be
responsible for expenses incurred by contractors
in the preparation of prequalification documents.

1969, Cap. 153 Section 51, the following per-
sons are hereby notified that a permanent
Wayleave, 30 feet wide, is required by the Central
Water Commission for the construction of a
variable size water main 12", 10", 8", 6", 4" in
the areas hereunder mentioned for the Mardigras
Water System in the Parish of St. George, and the
Peggy's Whim Water System in the Parish of
St. Patrick.
