nHE Government of St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla
S invites the submission of pre-qualification
data from interested consulting engineers in
connection with the construction of a deep water
port at St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla.
The scope of engineering works include surveys,
the preparation of appropriate design drawings,
costs,, estimates, specifications, and other contract
documents required for construction tender of the


project, the technical inspection during construc-
tion, and the issuance of payment certificates.
The project includes, but is not limited to, the
following:-
(a) Construction of a marginal wharf approxi-
mately 400 ft x 60 ft. and necessary
flooring facilities to accommodate vessels
of about 6,000 NRT in approximately 30 ft.
4epth of water.
(b) Provision of a RO-RO facility with a mini-
mum depth of 16 feet of water.
(c) General cargo warehouse of 12,000 sq. ft.
and a small port administration building.
(d) Land reclamation of 3.0 acres outshore of
existing shoreline and through excavation
an additional 2 acres inshore to provide a
port upland area of 5 acres.
(e) Provision of utilities, paving, security, etc.
A preliminary design of port facilities approved
by the Government of St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla and
the Caribbean Development Bank will be the basis
for the final design.
The total cost of the project including engineer-
ing fees is expected to be in the order of EEC
$5.5 million. Financing of the project will be
undertaken jointly by the Government of St. Kitts-
Nevis-Anguilla and the Caribbean Development
Bank.
Consideration will be limited to firms or joint
ventures or firms whose regular place of business
is in one of the following territories:-
Antigua, Bahamas, Belize, British Virgin
Islands, Canada, Cayman Islands, Colombia,
Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat,
St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla, St. Lucia, St. Vincent,
Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands,
United Kingdom, United States of America and
Venezuela.
Consulting engineering firms whether acting
singly or in joint ventures should each submit pre-
qqutiif fation data on a form which can be
obtained from the Governnient of St. Kitts-Nevis-
Anguilla or the Caribbean Development Bank,
P.O. Box 408, Wildey, Barbados, W.I.
Pre-qualification data must be received not later
than Friday, June, 22nd 1975, in the office of
Permanent Secretary, Ministry .of Thve, Develop-

RELEASE

Exchange Control Restrictions


1 OLLOWING the imposition by the United
Kingdom Government since 1972 of Exchange
Controls against the former Scheduled Territories
and the termination by that Government of the
Sterling Guarantee Agreement at 31st December,
1974, the Government of Grenada has for some
time been giving consideration to the need for
tighter Exchange Control restrictions.
Government has, accordingly, decided that all
transactions relating to the purchase of any
currency for the purpose of remitting funds
abroad be subject to normal Exchange Control
procedures. Effective immediately, all applications
for the purchase of currencies for remittance
abroad should be submitted to the Ministry of
Finance, Trade and Industry on the prescribed
forms for prior approval. Such forms are avail-
able at the Ministry.
