RELEASE
Exchange Control Restrictions


SOLLOWING the imposition by the United
T Kingdom Government since 1972 of Exchange
Controls against the former Scheduled Territories
and the termination by that Government of the
Sterling Guarantee Agreement at 31st December,
1974, the Government of Grenada has for some
time been giving consideration to the need for
tighter Exchange Control restrictions.
Government has, accordingly, decided that all
transactions relating to the purchase of any
currency for the purpose of remitting funds
abroad be subject to normal Exchange Control
procedures. Effective immediately, all applications
for the purchase of currencies for remittance
abroad should be submitted to the Ministry of
Finance, Trade and Industry on the prescribed
forms for prior approval. Such forms are avail-
able at the Ministry.

T is hereby notified for general information that
in pursuance .of t1.e power vested in Him under
the Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153), the
Governor-General acting in accordance with the
advice of the Cabinet of Grenada, has been pleased
to appoint Mr. Clive E. Alexander to be the
authorised officer for the purpose of the acquisition
of the lot of land, together with the buildings
thereon as mentioned and described in the
scheduled hereto.
SCHEDULE
All that lot, piece or parcel of land, together
with the buildings thereon, situated at La Borie in
the Parish of Saint George, containing by esti-
mation quarter acre more or less and believed to

HEREAS it is provided in effect by Section 3
of the Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153)
of the Revised Laws of Grenada that if
the Governor-General acting in accordance with
the advice of the Cabinet considers that any land
should be acquired for a public purpose He may
cause a declaration to that effect to be made:
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor-
General acting as aforesaid that the land men-
tioned and described in the schedule hereto should
be acquired for a public purpose, to wit, for the
establishment of a housing settlement.
Now, THEREFORE, it is hereby declared by the
Governor-General acting in accordance with the
advice of the Cabinet of Grenada that upon the
second publication of this declaration in the
Gazette, the land mentioned and described in the
Schedule hereto shall be acquired for the above-
mentioned purpose and shall vest absolutely in the

CARIBBEAN METEOROLOGICAL
INSTITUTE,

Vacancy: Agrometeorologist

Applications are invited from suitably qualified
persons for the post of Agrometeorologist at the
Caribbean Meteorological Institute in Barbados.

Duties
As Head of the Agrometeorological Section,
the Agrometeorologist will plan, direct and parti-
cipate in the execution of its research and inves-
tigational work in collaboration when relevant
with other institutions and in particular w th
other Car:bbean regional agricultural bodies, and
with national agricultural and meteorological
services. In this connect on the Institution also
has complementary se-tions in climatology,
hydrometeorology, instruIep maintenance and
meteorology. Other duties include the training of
agrometeorological personnel, visiting agrome-
teorological stations within the Caribbean, and
advising Governments on relevant matters.

Qualifications,
Applican's should hold a graduate degree of at
least .master's level in agrometeorology or alter-
natively in an agricultural science, preferably in
agronomy, and should have several years field
research experience preferably in tropical (Carib-
bean) agrometeorology or agriculture.

Appointment
The successful applicant w:l be appointed to an
Academic Post at the level of Lecturer/Senior
Lecturer and with conditions of service similar to
those of the University of the West Indies. Current
salary scales are:

Lecturer-BDS $13,200-17,052 (Bar)-20,904
per annum .
Senior, Lecturer-BDS ;$18,108-24,498 (Bar)-
26,730 per anum..
