Details of Post of
Senior ILdustrial Engineer
Applications are invited from suitably qualified
persons for the post of >en.or indus rial hnginee
in the Caribbean Community Secretariat.
2. The duties of the post are to:
(i) Identify, outl.ne and develop project
profiles making for the greatest degree
of processing w-thin the Region
particularly those projects making
maximum use of regional raw
(ii) Examine and advise on the technical
aspects of the preparation and imple-
mentation of projects including:
(a) the selection of plant and equip-
(b) the evaluation and adaptation of
alternative processes to suit local
conditions and raw material
(iii) Conduct and assist in the undertaking
of industrial surveys and feasibility
(iv) Undertake such other duties as may be
assigned from time to time.
3. The qualifications for the post are:
(i) An Honours Degree in Engineering,
preferably in the Industrial or Chemi-

Privileges and Immunities
10. The successful candidate will be granted the
privileges and immunities normally extended to
members of the diplomatic corps. It has also been
agreed that staff members of the Secretariat will
not pay income tax to the Government of Guyana
or in the case of staff recruited from Member
States to their home Governments.
11. The successful candidate, if permanently
appointed, will be required to contribute 5 percent
of his salary to the Secretariat's pension scheme.
Where appointment is on secondment, the Secre-
tariat will pay to the staff member's employer a
contribution not exceeding 25 percent of the pen-
s'onable salary normally payable to the staff
member by that employer during the per od of
his secondment so as to maintain his superannua-
