accepted unless satisfactory arrangements are
made beforehand for Prac.ical Tests.

A fee of $2 is payable by each candidate for
e-c'h Oral Test direct t:. the Oral Examiner.

A new system o: Lntry documentation was
introduced in June, 1973. A single Entry Form for
School candidates (Form E.C. 1), printed as a
two-part carbonised set, has replaced the former
red and green G.C.E. school Entry Forms, each
candidate using one index number for entries at A,
AO, and O-Levels, the index number be'ng shown
once instead of twice as at present. Form E.C. 2
has replaced the former entry form for Private
Candidates.

0-Level O0) 558, Human and Social Biology,
replaces the former (0) 760, Health Science. This
Examination may not be taken by candidates
utering Bicoogy or additional General Sc:ence.

Management Appointment


rPHE Caribbean Investment Corporation intends
Sto appoint a General Manager to be respon-
sible to the Board of Directors for the
administration and execution of its policy.

The Caribbean Investment Corporation was
established as a special instrument to assist in the
industrial development of the less developed
countries of the Commonwealth Caribbean. It
was chartered by Inter-Governmental agreement
Pmong member countries of the Caribbean Free
Trade Association and will act as a venture
capital Corporation investing in the equity capital
of enterprises located in the less developed
count-ies on' he area and will complement loan
capital facilities.

The Headquarters of the Corporation will be
established in St. Lucia.

Candidates for the post of General Manager
should be nationals of the Commonwealth Carib-
bean and have practical experience in major
development project planning, development
banking, or commercial banking practice
associated with development planning.

It is desirable that such experience should be
supported by training at University level or its
equivalent.

The appointment will be on contract for a term
of three years. Tax free emoluments will be
$24,000 p.a. and conditions of service will include
21% gratuity; housing, car and entertainment
allowances; and 30 working days vacation leave
p.a:

(Cap. 153)

(FIRST PUBLICATION)

ST is hereby notified for general information
that in pursuance of the powers vested in
Her under the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(Cap. 153), the Governor acting in accordance
with the advice of the Cabinet of the State of
Grenada has been pleased to appoint Mr.
Raymond I. Millet to be the Authorised Officer for
the purpose of the acquisition of the land men-
tioned and described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

All that lot, piece or parcel of land containing
by estimation 160 acres and being a portion of
Diamond Estate in the parish of St. Mark's
formerly the property of the late Norbert Nyack
and now believed to be owned by or under the
control of Mr. Maurice Nyack. The said lot of
land is bounded on one side of the Diamond-
Coast Guard Road to a point where it meets lands
of Rupert Campbell and Amon St. John. From this
point it is bounded by other lands of the said
Diamond Estate and lands of George Noel to a
public bye-way known as Coast Guard-Belmont
Road; then along the said bye-way to the Belmont
Mt. 'tanhrpe Road; from this point it is bounded
by lands of Raymond Simon to a ravine and
along the said ravine to a point where it comes
back 'o the Belmont-Mt. Stanhone Road close
to a high wall in the vicinity of Diamond Estate
Boucan. It then follows the aforementioned
Diamond-Coast Guard Road and an estate road
to a point where it merts and is bounded by lands
of the said Diamond Estate recently acquired by
the Government of Grenada.

3 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap.
153) of the Revised Laws of Grenada that
if the Governor acting in accordance with the
advice of the Cabinet considers that any land
should be acquired for a public purpose She may
cause a declaration to that effect to be made:
Now, THEREFORE, it is considered by the
Governor acting as aforesaid that the lot of land

for the purpose of establishing a peasant Co-
operative and also to provide house spots and
subsidiary garden.

Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan
United Kingdom and Canadian Awards

SPPLICATIONS are invited from suitably
qualified persons for Scholarships tenable in
the United Kingdom and Canada under the
Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship
Plan.
Scholarships under the above-mentioned plan
are normally awarded for advanced study or
research leading towards a University Degree or
similar qualification. Before taking up a Scholar-
ship a student must hold a Batchelor's or


Master's degree from a recognized university or
some equivalent qualification. Scholarships will
not normally be awarded to candidates who
already have a Ph.D degree or for clinical
training; nor will they be awarded to candidates
wishing to undertake medical or dental degrees.
in excep icnal cases an award may be made to a
graduate who wishes to study for another under-
graduate degree, or may be made to an under-
graduate if the programme of studies he wishes to
clllow is to available in his own country, i.e., the
University of the West indies.
The scholarships are open to men and women
who have not reached their 35th birthday by the
Ist October, 1974. In special circumstances this
age limit may be raised. Further information
regarding the awards can be had from the
Permanent Secretary, Training Division, Premier's
Office.

Rules
1. The student must be at the end of June, 1973
on the register of a Secondary School of a
Member Country of CARIFTA or the
Bahamas.
2. Entries must be in the contestant's own
handwriting and must be his personal
effort and an original and previously
unpublished essay.
3. Each entry must be submitted on ruled
paper (quarto or foolscap size) and written
on one side of the paper only.


4. Each entry must be accompanied by a
statement from the Headmaster/Head-
mistress of the School which the student
attends stating the age of the student and
that to the best of his/her knowledge, the
script was written by the student sub-
mitting the entry.
5. The deadline for submission of the scripts
will be 1st October, 1973.
6. The length of the Essay should not exceed
4,030 words.
7. Entries should be submitted in sealed
envelopes addressed to:

8. Entries will be judged by a panel of three (3)
judges to be selected by the Secretary-
