Section 83 of the Grenada Constitution
Order, 1967, Her Excellency the Governor has
been pleased to appoint MR. LEO VICTOR
DEGALE, C.B.E., as Chairman of the Public
Service Commission during the period 3rd March,
1973 and until 2nd March, 1976.

IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUSTICE

SOTICE is hereby given that a Session of the
High Court of Grenada, in its Criminal
Jurisdiction will be held at the Court House in
the town of Saint George on Tuesday the 5th day
of June, 1973, at 9.30 o'clock in the forenoon
when and where all concerned and bound over
to prosecute or to give evidence or summoned as
Jurors or Witnesses are required to give their per-
sonal attendance, and all officers who have taken
inquisitions, depositions, examinations, recognis-
ances or other papers cognisable by the Court are
required to return the same without delay to this
office.

T is hereby notified for general information that,
in pursuance of the power vested in Her under
the Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153), The
Governor acting in accordance with the advice
of the Cabinet of the State of Grenada has been
pleased to appoint Mr. Raymond I. Millet to be
the Authorised Officer for the purpose of the
acquisition of a lot of land mentioned and
described in the Schedule hereto:-

SCHEDULE

All that lot, piece or parcel of land known as
Springs Estate situate in the parish of St. Andrew
containing by estimation 206 acres more or less
and believed to be owned by or under the control
of Mr. Frederick R. Harford or Messrs. R. M.
Bhola and Alfred Baptiste.

Messrs. R. M. Bhola and Alfred Baptiste
is to be acquired for a public purpose.

DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND

(FIRST PUBLICATION)

WHEREAS it is provided in effect by section 3
of the Land Acquisition Ordinance, (Cap. 153) of
the Revised Laws of Grenada that if the Gover-
nor acting in accordance with the advice of
the Cabinet of the State of Grenada considers that
any land should be acquired for a public purpose
She may cause a declaration to that effect to be
made:

AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor
acting as aforesaid that the land mentioned and
.described in the Schedule hereto should be
acquired for a public purpose, to wit, for the pur-
pose of establishing a peasant Agricultural Co-
operative.

Now, THEREFORE, it is hereby declared by the
Governor acting in accordance with the advice
of The Cabinet of the State of Grenada that
upon the Second Publication of this declaration
in the Gazette, the land mentioned and described
in the Schedule hereto shall be acquired for
the abovementioned purpose and shall vest
absolutely in the Crown.
SCHEDULE

T is hereby notified for general information
in pursuance of the power vested in Her
under section 12 of the Land Acquisition Ordi-
nance Cap. 153, the Governor has been pleased
to appoint a Board of Assessment to deal with
all questions and claims relating to the payment of
compensation under this Ordinance and to the


apportionment of such compensation for the lot
of land acquired by the Government of Grenada
from the Grenada Co-operative Nutmeg Associa-
tion the declaration of which acquisition was
published in the Government Gazette on July 6,
1968 and July 13, 1968.

The Board is constituted of :-
(a) The Honourable Justice ERIC BISHOP,
Puisne Judge of the High Court,
Chairman of the Boad;
(b) Honourable R. C. P. MOORE, J.P. the
member appointed by the Governor;
and
(c) MR. DUDLEY FERGUSON, the member
nominated by the Grenada Co-opera-
tive Nutmeg Association.
The lot of land in respect of which compensa-
tion is to be assessed described in the Schedule
hereto.
SCHEDULE
All that lot of land containing by admeasure-
ment 19,620 sq. ft., situate at the Carenage in the
town of St. George, in the State of Grenada owned
by the Grenada Co-operative Nutmeg Associaton
and bounded as follows:-
On the north by lands of Mr. James Lashley
(deceased) and Mr. T. E. Noble Smith;
On the west by lands of Mrs. L. Preudhomme
(deceased) and the estate of Dr. J. E. Ross;
On the south by lands of Mrs. Grace Reeves
(deceased) and the estate of Messrs. Jonas
Browne and Hubbard Ltd., and by the Carenage
Road; and
On the east by the Sewerage Ejector Station
and General Traders Ltd.
