WHEREAS I, GREAVES B. JAMES, Deputy to the Governor, as aforesaid, acting
in accordance with the advice of the Cabinet, deem it advisable that a Com-
mission be issued under the provisions of the Commissions of Inquiry Ordinance
Cap. 64 of the Revised Laws of Grenada for purposes of inquiring into matters
AND WHEREAS I, acting as aforesaid, in my opinion consider an inquiry into the
matters hereinafter stated would be for the public welfare:
Now KNOW YOU THAT I, GREAVES B. JAMES, Deputy to the Governor as
aforesaid, acting as aforesaid, reposing full confidence in your zeal, discretion and

DENNISON to be the Commissioners under the said Ordinance to make dili-
gent inquiries into and speedily report upon all facts relating to the matters set
out hereunder, that is to say-
(a) investigate the legal ownership of all properties formerly owned by the
Late S. A. Francis, with particular reference to Grand Anse and Mt.
(b) explore the possibility of acquiring the said properties for the purpose of
providing home lots for the people of that area and putting the remainder
of lands under cultivation and for such other purposes that Government
may consider desirable;
(c) make a study of the living and working conditions of the people on the
Grand Anse and Mt. Hartman Estates;
(d) make recommendations.
AND I, acting as aforesaid, DIRECT that you the said ADRIAN DATE shall be
Chairman of the Commission.
AND I, acting as aforesaid, FURTHER DIRECT that the said Inquiry shall be made
on such days and at such places as you (the Commissions shall deem proper and
necessary and that you shall make such report and recommendations in the
premises as may to you seem fit, with all convenient speed.
AND I, acting as aforesaid, FURTHER DIRECT that the meetings of the Commission
shall be held in public or in private as you the Commissioners in your discretion may
AND I, acting as aforesaid, do HEREBY APPOINT MISS ELAINE MOORE to be
Secretary of the Commission to attend the meetings and generally to perform such
duties as Secretary as are prescribed by Law.
AND I, acting as aforesaid, CHARGE AND COMMAND all officers, and all other Her
Majesty's loyal subjects in the State that in their several places and according to their
several powers and abilities they be aiding and assisting you in the execution of this

House in the said State this 17th day of March, One thousand nine
hundred and seventy-three and in the twenty-secondth year of the
reign of Her Majesty QUEEN EUlZABETH THE SECOND.
