mentioned posts.
Qualifications:
Candidates for the post of Town Planner should
be Associate Member of Town Planning Insti-
tute (A.M.T.P.I.) or possess an equivalent
qualification.
Graduates in Town Planning, or a related field
such as Architecture, Engineering, Surveying,
Geography, Economics or Sociology will be con-
sidered for appointment to the grade of Assistant
Town Planner.
Salary:
(a) *The salary scale for the post of Town
Planner is $7,500 X 300-$8,400 X 360
-$9,840 x 480-$10,800 per annum,

annum for the post of Assistant Town
Planner. T;e point of entry in the scale
will depend on qualifications and ex-
perience.

(b) Officers on agreement will be eligible
for a gratuity of 20% of basis salary
on the satisfactory completion of their
engagement, or annually at the option
of the Officer.

*The salary scale is subject to an upward re-
vision with effect from 1st April, 1973.

Duties:
Successful candidates will be required to work
either in administering or development control or
in the newly-created planning and research sec-
tion.

Appointment:
The appointment can either be on permanent
and pensionable basis or on agreement for three
years.

(a) Pensionable Officer: Appointment is
subject to medical fitness and a proba-
tionary period of two years. Under the
Widows and Children Pensions Act,
salary is subject to a deduction of 2%
per annum.
(b) Agreement Officer: If an officer on
agreement terms is a contributor to an
approved superannuation scheme the
employer's share will be paid by this
Government in the first instance and
later recovered from the officers
gratuity.

Allowances:
The appointed officer will be eligible for a car
loan of $4,320 in the first instance and subsequent
loans after periods of three years not in excess of
$3,600. Loans are interest free and are repayable
in equal monthly instalments over a given period
and not exceeding five years.

ficd persons for appointment to the above
mentioned post.

Qualifications:
The basic qualifications are experience in
handbinding or handicraft work. Some knowledge
of Chemistry would be an advantage.

Duties:
To assist in the work of the Department and to
carry out:

(a) repair of documents, maps, etc;

(b) sewing, binding and rebinding books
and pamphlets;

(c) blocking and tooling binding;

(d) making folders, covers, boxes, etc. for
storage of books and archives;

(e) insecticidal fungicidal and de-acidify-
ing treatments of documents, etc.;

(f) improvising and making simple equip-
ment.

Salary:
The salary of the post is in the scale E.C.
$3,600x 180-$4,420 X 240-$6,240 per annum,
and is subject to revision with effect from 1st
April, 1973.

Appointment:
The appointment will be on contract agreement
for two to two and a half years (2--2) years. A
gratuity of 20% of basis salary is payable on the
satisfactory completion of agreement of annually
at the option of the officer.
