NOTICE

THE attention of all importers is drawn to the
I requirements of Regulation 3 of the Customs
Regulations, SRO. 17 of 1961, which states that all
persons submitting any forms to the Customs must
complete such forms by writing thereon all the
particulars indicated thereon or required thereby
as well as all other particulars specifically required
by the Customs Laws or by the Comptroller or
any other Customs Officer.

2. Regulation 10 of SRO 51 of the 1958 Laws
requires that goods from the Scheduled Territories
shall not be entered on entries with goods from
other territories. This regulation has not been
strictly enforced in the past, but must now be
observed.

3. Goods liable to pay duty at a specific rate
on fixed quantities must not be entered on entries
with goods liable to Ad Valorem duties. Entries
must not have more than six items written thereon.

4. All t:re statistical data required on Customs
forms must be inserted, including inter alia values
and quantities for each item shown on the form.
Cn no account must values or quantities be
aggregated. Any values expressed in foreign
currency must be converted into Eastern Carib-
bean Currency and all values must be accurate.

5. All copies of any form submitted to Cus-
toms must be clearly legible.

6. Regulation 6 of the Customs Regulation
states that officers may refuse to accept or act
upon any form or document unless the require-
ments of t-.e Customs Laws or Regulations in
relation thereto have been duly observed.

All entries which do not conform to the require-
ments of this notice will not be processed.

7. These requirements will be enforced not
later than 1st December, 1972.

Applicants should not be less than 17 years
of age and not more than 23 and should possess
passes in the G.C.E. Examination in at least
..ngl.sh, Mathematics and/or Physics.

The ability to speak clearly and concisely,
mental alertness and a genuine interest in
Meteorological and Air Trafnc Control work are
desirable qualities.

Successful applicants would be required to
undergo training at the Meteorological Institute
at Barbados and at the Air Traffic Control School
at Trinidad.

The posts which are pensionable, carry a
salary in the scale $2544 x 120-3624/3744 x
120-3984/ x 180-4164. On the successful
completion of the Air Traffic Control Course,
candidates would be eligible for appointment as
Air Traffic Control Officers in the scale H. Tl
$S424 x 180-5964 x 216-6396.

A new system of Entry documentation has
been introduced for the G.C.E. Examinations in
June 1973. A single Entry Form for Schools
candidates (Form E.C. 1), printed as a two part
carbonised set, will replace the former red and
green G.C.E. school Entry Forms, each candi-
date using one index number for entries at A, AO,
and O levels, the index number being shown once
instead of twice as at present. A Private Candi-
date's form (Form E.C. 2) will replace the former
entry form for Private Candidates.
All papers will be set in Metric Units for
Woodwork, Metalwork, Geometrical and Mech.
Drawing, and Surveying.
Private Candidates, who are taking the G.C.E.
Examinations for the first time, must satisfy the
Local Secretary that they are eligible to sit, by
producing evidence that they have passed the
Oualifving Test, as determined by the Chief
Education Officer.

of the Revised Laws of Grenada, notice is

approach the Inspector of the Motor Vehicles at
t;e Traffic Branca, Fire Station, in advance witn.
a view to afecting any alterations tnat may be
necessary to comply with tne provisions of the
Motor Vehicles and Road Trailc Ordinance, and
of tle Regulations made t.ereunder.
Ve.lcles must be presented in a tnroughly clean
condition, and must nave been recently over-
nauled. Tne body and wings, axle, cnassis frame,
steering arms, springs, trackrods, brake connec-
tions, shackles, bolts, nuts, splitpins, engine,
engine shield and case, clutch, gearbox, magneto,
or coil, air filter, carburettor and all working
parts must be cleaned in order to admit a proper
examination. Dust covers, if used must be
removed before presentation in order to admit of
an examination being made in full. All split
pins, etc., must be clearly exposed, also chassis
and engine numbers. Drivers' seats must be
securely fastened so that the dirver can have
proper control over the vehicle. Spotslights, musi-
cal horns and whistles are strictly prohibited.
Each vehicle must have its tare and maximum
gross weight painted in white figures not less
than 21 inches in height upon a black back
ground in a conspicuous place on the right or
off-side of the vehicles.
The Registered Identification marks on all
vehicles must conform to provisions of Regula-
tions 7, 8 and 9 and the second schedule to the
Regulations S.R. & O. No. 151 and be in such
a condition as to render eac' letter or figure
readily distinguishable. The attention of owners
of motor omibuses and goods vehicles is specially
directed to Regulations 23 (11) (a) regarding the
position of front lamps. Spot lights will not be
allowed except with the written approval of the
Licensing Authority.
The attention of the owners of hiring cars and
motor omibuses is directed to Regulation 50 (2)
of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Regula-
t;ons S.R. & O. No. 151 of the Revised Laws of
Grenada which require that printed copies of the
tariffs and maximum fares be displayed in such
vehicles. These are now available and may be
purchased at the Treasury, St. George's, and at
any District Revenue Office at 4 cents per copy.
Vehicles which have been found by the Inspec-
tor to have defects must not be used on the roads
until they have been issued a certificate, certifying
that the vehicles may be duly licensed.
