of the Southern District will hold a special
session at the Court House, St. George's on
Friday the 7th April, 1972 at 9.00 o'clock in the

Estate in the parish of St. Andrew and
known as Carriere Cricket Field containing
by estimation 3 Acres more or less.

DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND

(FIRST PUBLICATION)

W HEREAS it is provided inter alia by Section 3
of the Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap.
153) of the Revised Laws of Grenada that if, the
Governor acting in accordance with the advice of
the Cabinet considers that any land should be
acquired for a public purpose She may cause a
declaration to that effect to be made :

Now THEREFORE is is considered by the Governor
acting as aforesaid that the land mentioned and
described in the Schedule hereto should be acquired
for a public purpose, to wit, establishing a public
recreational centre :

SCHEDULE

ALL THAT LOT, piece or parcel of land formerly
part of Carriere Estate in the parish of St. Andrew
and known as Carriere Cricket Field containing
by estimation 3 Acres more or less and believed to
be owned by or under the control of Mr. Edgerton
Mirjah. The said lot of land is bounded on one
side by the Public Road and on the remaining
sides by lands believed to be owned by or under
the control of Mr. Edgerton Mirjah.

T is hereby notified for general information that
in pursuance of the power vested in Her under
the Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153), the
-Governor acting in accordance with the advice of
the Cabinet of the State of Grenada has been
pleased to appiont Mr. Sylvester Sandy to be the
authorised officer for the purpose of the acquisi-
tion of the parcels of land mentioned and
described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
(a) 5,630 sq. ft. of land owned by or under the
control of the Heirs of Felicia Douglas. The
said lot, piece or parcel of land is bounded on the
North by the remaining lands of Felicia Douglas,
on the South by the Calivigny public main road,
on the East by lands of Aaron McDonald,
(deceased) and on the West by lands of Joslyn
Hyacinth.
(b) 9,330 sq. ft. of land owned by or under the
control of the Heirs of Aaron McDonald. The
said lot, piece or parcel of land is bounded on the
North by the remaining lands of Aaron McDonald,
on the South by the Calivigny public main road,
on the East by lands of St. Louis Bowen (deceased)
and on the West by lands of Felicia Douglas
(deceased).
(c) 1,420 sq. ft. of land owned by or under the
control of the Heirs of St. Louis Bowen. The
said lot, piece or parcel of land is bounded on the
North by the remaining lands of St. Louis Bowen,
on the South by the Calivigny public main road,
on the East by lands of Ismai Bowen, and on the
West by lands of Aaron McDonald (deceased).
(d) 7,612 sq. ft. of land owned by or under the
control of the Heirs of Elizabeth Cobham. The
said lot, piece or parcel of land is bounded on the
North by the remaining lands of Elizabeth Cobham,
on the South by the Calivigny public main road,
on the East by land in the possession of the Gospel
Hall church and on the West by lands of Rupert
Alleyne.

State of Grenada are to be acquired for
a public purpose.

DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND
(FIRST PUBLICATION)

WHEREAS it is provided in effect by section 3
of the Land Acquisition Ordinance, (Cap.
153) of the Revised Laws of Grenada that if the


Governor acting in accordance with the advice of
the Cabinet considers that any land should be
acquired for a public purpose. She may cause a
declaration to that effect to be made :

AND WHEREAS it appears to the Governor acting
as aforesaid that the land mentioned and described
in the Schedule hereto are likely to be acquired
for a public purpose, to wit, for the improvement of
the Calivigny public main road.

Now, THEREFORE, it is hereby declared by the
Governor acting in accordance with the advice of
the Cabinet of the State of Grenada that upon the
second publication of this declaration in the
Gazette, the land mentioned and described in the
schedule hereto shall be acquired for the above-
mentioned purpose and shall vest absolutely in
the Crown.

AND IT IS HEREBY further declared and notified
that the parcels of land referred to are situate at
Calivigny in the parish of St. George in the State
of Grenada and that a plan of the said parcels of
land may be inspected at the Ministry of Com-
munications, Works, Labour and Natura
Resources, St. George's, between 9.00 o'clock in
the forenoon and 12.00 o'clock mid-day, Monday
to Saturday.
SCHEDULE

APPLICATIONS are ii;ted C- qualified persons to fill the above-mentioned
posts.

Applicants should not be less than 17 years of
age and not more than 23 and should possess
Passes in the G.C.E. Examination in at least
English, Mathematics and/or Physics.

The ability to speak clearly and concisely,
mental alertness and a genuine interest in Meteoro-
logical and Air Traffic Control work are desirable
qualities.

Successful applicants would be required to
undergo training at the Meteorological Institute


ai Barbados and at Air Traffic Control School
in Trinidad.

The posts which are pensionable, carry a salary
in .Lh scale $2544 x 120 3624/3744 x 120 3984 -
4164. On the successful completion of the Air
