SECOND PUBLICATION

T is hereby notified for general information that,
in pursuance of the power vested in Her under
the Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153), the
Governor, acting in accordance with the advice
of the Cabinet of the State of Grenada, has been
pleased to appoint MR. RAYMOND MILLET to be
the Authorised Officer for the purpose of the
acquisition of certain lots of land being portions
of MT. REUIL Estate mentioned and described
in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
All that lot, piece or parcel of land known as
Canne Chemin and Canne Petit Jardin being
portions of MT. REUIL Estate in the parish of
St. Patrick in the State of Grenada owned by or
under the control of the Misses Agnes and Helene
Macleod containing by admeasurement 12 acres
2 roods and 10 poles more or less bounded on the
north by other lands of Mt. Reuil Estate, on the
south by a water-course, on the east by lands of
Mt. Rich Estate and on the west by the public
road.

DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND

SECOND PUBLICATION

W HEREAS it is provided in effect by section 3
of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(Cap. 153) of the Revised Laws of Grenada that
if the Governor acting in accordance with the
advice of the Cabinet considers that any land
should be acquired for a public purpose She may
cause a declaration to that effect to be made:

AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor
acting as aforesaid that the lands mentioned and
described in the Schedule hereto should be
acquired for a public purpose, to wit, for the
purpose of establishing a Land Settlement.

Now, THEREFORE, it is hereby declared by the
Governor acting in accordance with the advice
of the Cabinet of the State of Grenada that upon
the second publication of this declaration in the
Gazette, the lands mentioned and described in the

Schedule hereto shall be acquired for the above-
mentioned purpose and shall vest absolutely in
the Crown:

2 roods and 10 poles more or less and that a plan
of the said lots prepared by Mr. M. D. Lett may
be inspected at the Ministry of Communications,
Works and Natural Resources, Saint George's,
between the hours of 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon and
from 1.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. from Monday to
Friday each week and from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00
noon on Saturday.

already in possession of valid passports which, for
one reason or another, are being deliberately tam-
pered with in order to force the issue of new
passports.
It should be clearly understood that the issue
of passports is not automatic and a general warn-
ing is hereby given that persons found to be tam-
pering with passports might not be issued with
replacements earlier than the date on which the
passports would normally have expired.

NOTICE

Clearing of Goods from Warehouses

IMPORTERS are notified that they are required
to present at the Transit Sheds and Queen's
Warehouse Invoices, Parking Slips or other docu-
ments indicating the quantity and description of
goods in each package in sufficient detail to enable
the goods to be identified on examination.
Importers are reminded of the provisions of
section 229 of the Customs Ordinance No. 35 of
1960 which is quoted for general information:-
"All goods, subject to the customs laws shall
be liable to such examination as the
Collector may direct and the unloading,
loading and removal of goods and bringing
them to the proper place for examination
and weighing, putting them into scales,
opening, unpacking and repacking, bulking,
sorting, lotting marking, and numbering,
where such operations respectively are
necessary or permitted and removing to and
placing them in the proper place of deposit
until delivered or put on board an export-
ing aircraft or ship, shall be performed by
or at the expense of the owner of spch
goods; and the owner shall unpack, sort,
pile or otherwise prepare any goods either
before or after entry thereof in such manner
as the. proper officer shall require to enable
him to examine or take account of the
snme."


Importers are also required to sumbit invoices
in duplicate at the time entries are submitted for
checking.
