In the matter of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(Cap. 153)

(FIRST PUBLICATION)

JT is hereby notified for general information
that, in pursuance of the powers vested in Her
under the Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153),
the Governor acting in accordance with the
advice of the Cabinet of the State of Grenada has
been pleased to appoint Mr. RAYMOND A. NOEL
to be the Authorised Officer for the purpose of
the acquisition of the lot of land mentioned and
described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

All that lot piece or portion of land containing
by admeasurement about 3,000 sq. ft. English
Statute Measure situate at Monckton Street in the
town of St. George in the State of Grenada,
believed to be owned by the Home Industries
Association. The said lot of land is bounded as
follows:
On the north by Texaco Cas Station,
On the west by a Car Park,
On the south by Crown Lands,
On the east by Monckton Street.

Saint John and State of Grenada being a
portion of BLACK BAY ESTATE known
as MARIE LOUISE are likely to be
required for a public purpose.
NOTIFICATION

(FIRST PUBLICATION)

WHEREAS it is provided by section 4 of the
Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153) of
the Revised Laws of Grenada that if it appears
to the Governor acting in accordance with the
advice of the Cabinet that any land is likely to be
required for any purpose which in the opinion of
the Governor is a public purpose, and it is neces-
sary to make a preliminary survey or other
investigation of the land, She will cause a notifica-
tion to that effect to be published in the Gazette
and thereupon it shall be lawful for the Authorised
Officer (or his agents, assistants and workmen) to
enter upon the said land and to do all or any of
the things empowered by the said section:

AND WHEREAS it appears to the Governor acting
as aforesaid that the lands mentioned and des-
cribed in the Schedule hereto are likely to be
required for a public purpose, to wit, for the
purpose of a Land Settlement:

Now, THEREFORE, it is hereby notified by the
Governor acting in accordance with the advice
of the Cabinet of the State of Grenada that the
lands mentioned and described in the Schedule
hereto are likely to be required for the above-
mentioned purpose and that it is necessary to
make a preliminary survey and other investigations
of the land and RAYMOND MILLET ESQ., Chief
Technical Office (Surveys) Authorised Officer
appointed for the purpose of the said acquisition
may enter upon the said lands and do all or any
of the things by the said section permitted.

The said lands comprise by estimation 140 acres
more or less being portion of BLACK BAY
ESTATE and known as MARIE LOUISE in the
parish of St. John and State of Grenada more
particularly described in the Schedule hereto.

Vacant Post of Junior Labour Inspector

APPLICATIONS are invited for appointment
to the post of Junior Labour Inspector in
the Ministry of Health, Housing, Labour and
Local Government.
2. Salary will be in the E/SE scale $3,336x
144-$3,624 x 180-$5,064.
3. Qualifications:- Minimum qualifications
for entrance to the Civil Service. Any other
qualification in Labour Relations will be con-
sidered.
4. Leave will be granted in accordance with
local regulations and the officer will be subject
to General Orders, Financial Rules, and other

Food : There was a decrease in the retail prices of rice, but increases in the prices of
bacon, table butter and irish potatoes caused this group index to rise by .53 units to
133.86

Alcoholic Drinks and Tobacco : This group index remains at 126.62.

Housing : An increase in the price of oil paint caused this group index to rise by
1.41 units to 124.80.

Fuel and Light : This group index remains at 116.30.

Household and Miscellaneous Items : This group index remains at 120.7.

Clothing and Footwear : Increases in the prices of canvas shoes, cotton print material,
half slips and ladies' shoes, caused this group index to rise by 1.08 units to 129.86.

Services : An increase in the price of dress making caused this group index to rise by
.94 units to 128.04.
