COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIP AND
FELLOWSHIP PLAN INDIAN AWARDS
1969-1970


THE Government of India is offering fourty-five
scholarships and five Fellowships under the
Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowship
Plan to students from Commonwealth Countries
for studies in Indian Universities.

2. The Scholarships are mainly for post-
graduate studies but in certain circumstances
some awards may be made for undergraduates or
other courses.

3. Application forms and further, particulars
are available at the Ministry of Social Affaris,
Culture and Community Development.

4. It is the responsibility of the applicant to
ensure that referees' reports from the three
persons named in his application reach the Chief
Education Officer by the closing date.

5. Completed application forms and other
supporting documents, including health certifi-
cates should reach the Chief Education Officer
by 15th February, 1969.

Royal Grenada Police Force.
The Successful applicants must be prepared to
undergo training which would prepare them for
senior positions in the Force.
Applicants must either possess the Higher
School Certificate or pass in 2 G.C.E. 'A' level
subjects and the general paper. A pass in 'O'
level English Language is also essential. Candi-
dates who hope to get these qualifications shortly
may also apply.

qualified persons for appointment to the
post of Tutor at the Grenada Teachers' College.
Particulars relating to the post are as follows:-

Qualifications:

Applicants should be Qualified Teachers with
a minimum of ten (10) years teaching experience
and at least one (1) year of University training.
Duties:

(a) Conducting one-year and two-year in-
College Courses.
(b) Supervising the work of young teachers in
primary schools.
(c) Such other related duties as may be
assigned from time to time by the
Principal.

Salary:

The salary of the post is in the scale $3,624 x
180--$5,640.
A travelling allowance is payable at the rate of
$720 per annum.

In the Town of St. George, Tuesday,
18th February, 1969

BY virtue of the powers vested in me under
Section 80(1) of the Motor Vehicles and Road
Traffic Ordinance, Cap. 194, Page 2556 of the
Revised Laws of Grenada, Vol. II., I hereby order
that on Tuesday, 18th February, 1969, between
the hours of 1.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. the under-
mentioned streets in the town of Saint George will
be closed to all vehicular traffic and during that
period no vehicle shall travel on, or park on these
streets :
(a) Melville Street from its junction with
Maloney Street to its junction with
Cross and Bruce Streets ;
(b) Melville Street from its junction with
Maloney Street to its junction with
Melville Street ;
(c) Bruce Street from its junction with
Melville and Cross Streets to its junction
with Sendall Tunnel ; (The Western
entrance)
(d) Sendall Tunnel from its junction with
Bruce Street to its junction with Monck-
ton Street ; (The eastern entrance.)

Carnival Pageant at Queen's Park

)Y virtue of the powers vested in me under
)Section 80(1) of the Motor Vehicles and Road
Traffic Ordinance, Cap. 194, Page 2556 of the
Revised Laws of Grenada, Vol. II., I hereby order
that on Monday, 17th February,1969, between the
hours of 12.00 noon and 7.00 p.m. all motor vehicles
shall park or proceed on or along the undermen-
tioned roads as directed hereunder:--

(a) PARKING:

Motor vehicles shall be permitted to PARK
ON THE SEASIDE ONLY of the St.
George's road (otherwise called the Western
Road), between its junction with the Queen's
Park Road at the Green Bridge; and its
junction with the Power Station Road at
the Pumping Station.

(b) NO PARKING:

Motor vehicles will not be permitted to park
or wait on River Road between its junction
with the wooden Bridge and its junction
with Melville Street and the St. George's
Road.

(c) ONE WAY TRAFFIC:

All M( tor vehicles shall proceed to Queen's
Park in a one way direction from the junc-
tion of the St. George's Road (otherwise

called the Western Road along the Queen's
Park Road to the Wooden Bridge with its

No Motor vehicle will be permitted to enter

CARNIVAL

Use of Vehicles Licensed as Goods Vehicles for the
Conveyance of Passengers

(i) In the interest of public safety the attention
of the owners of goods vehicles is directed
to Section 15(3) of the Motor Vehicles and
Road Traffic Ordinance, Cap. 194, Page
2531 of the Revised Laws of Grenada,
Vol. II, which provides for the grant of
permission to enable a vehicle licensed as a
goods vehicle to be used as a private motor
car for the conveyance of passengers WITH-
OUT HIRE OR REWARD.
(ii) Owners of goods vehicles intending to use
them for the purpose of conveying passen-
gers during Carnival are advised to apply
to the Acting Commissioner of Police,
Police Headquarters, St. Gearge's, for the
necessary permission to do so. This will
be given only after inspection of the vehicle
when a certificate will be issued ,and on
production of a policy of insurance in
respect of third party risks which policy
complies with the requirements of the
Motor Vehicles Insurance (Third Party
Risks) Cap. 195, Vol. II of the Revised Laws
of Grenada.
(iii) Owners and drivers of goods vehicles are
hereby warned that the carriage of passen-
gers in goods vehicles contrary to provisions
of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic
Ordinance will render them liable to prose-
cution.

authorities of the exporting territory.

Applicants will be required to write a test at the Grenada Technical Centre.
Persons wishing to take the training test must register and be interviewed at the Grenada Techni-
cal Centre, Tanteen, between the hours of 8.30 a.m. and 3.00 p.m.-Monday to Friday and 8.30 a.m.
and 12.00 on Saturday.
