Post of Tutor at Grenada Teachers' College


APPLICATIONS are invited from suitably
qualified persons for appointment to the
post of Tutor at the Grenada Teachers' College.
Particulars relating to the post are as follows: -

Qualifications:
Applicants should be Qualified Teachers with
a minimum of ten (10) years teaching experience
and at least one (1) year of University training.

Duties :
(a) Conducting one-year and two-year in-
College Courses.
(b) Supervising the work of young teachers in
primary schools.
(c) Such other related duties as may be
assigned from time to time by the
Principal.
Salary:
The salary of the post is in the scale $3,624 x
180--$5,640.
A travelling allowance is payable at the rate of
$720 per annum.
Applications should be addressed to the Chief
Education Officer, Ministry of Social Affairs,
Culture and Community Development and should
reach him not later than 15th February, 1969, for
transmission to the Chief Personnel Officer.

NOTICE

In the Matter of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(Cap. 153)

T is hereby notified for general information
that, in pursuance of the power vested in Her
under the Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153),
the Governor acting in accordance with the advice
of the Cabinet of the State of Grenada has been
pleased to appoint Mr. Raymond Millet to be
the Authorised Officer for the purpose of the
acquisition of the lot of land mentioned and
described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

All that lot piece or portion of land containing
by admeasurement about 4 acres situate at Grand
Anse in the parish of St. George in the State of
Grenada and believed to be owned by Grand Anse
Estate Ltd. The said lot is bounded as follows:-
On the one side by the public main road
known as the "Race Course Road" leading to
Calliste and on the left side of the said Road
measuring approximately 3,500 feet. and on the
remaining three sides by lands of the said Grand
Anse Estate, measuring approximately 40 feet-
on two sides and approximately 3,500 feet on
the remaining side.

SECOND PUBLICATION

In the Matter of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(Cap, 153)

and
In the Matter of a Declaration by the Governor
that certain lands situate at Grand Anse in
the parish of St. George in the State of
Grenada are to be acquired for a public
purpose.

DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND

WHEREAS it is provided in effect by section 3
of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(Cap. 153) of the Revised Laws of Grenada that
if the Governor acting in accordance with the
advice of the Cabinet considers that any land
should be acquired for a public purpose She may
cause a declaration to that effect to be made:
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor
acting as aforesaid that the land mentioned and
described in the Schedule hereto should be
acquired for a public purpose, to wit, for the
purpose of Road Improvement:
Now, THEREFORE, it is hereby declared by the
Governor acting in accordance with the advice
of the Cabinet of the State of Grenada that upon


the Second Publication of this declaration in the
Gazette, the lands mentioned and described in the
Schedule hereto shall be acquired for the above-
mentioned purpose and shall vest absolutely in
the Crown.
AND IT IS HEREBY FURTHER declared and
notified that the land referred to is situate at
Grand Anse in the parish of St George in the
State of Grenada and is about 4 acres in area,
more or less.

SCHEDULE

Commonwealth Caribbean Regional Secretariat
Vacancy for Librarian


PPLICATIONS are invited from suitably
qualified persons for appointment to the
post of LIBRARIAN in the Commonwealth
Caribbean Regional Secretariat, Georgetown,
Guyana.
Applicants must be professionally qualified
librarians with experience in all aspects of library
work.
The salary scale atatched to the post of
LIBRARIAN is $6,240 per annum rising by
annual increments of $240 to $7,200 per annum
and the point of entry in the scale will depend on
the qualification and experience of the person
selected. A house allowance of $2,400 per annum
will be paid.
Secretariat staff will not be required to pay
income tax to the Government of Guyana. They
will, however, be required to make payments
monthly to a Staff Assessment Scheme. This
assessment will be computed on the basis of gross
salary, excluding allowances.
Applications (three copies) giving age, quali-
fications and details of past experience should be
addressed to the Secretary-General, Common-
wealth Caribbean Regional Secretariat, 205 Camp
Street, Georgetown, Guyana, to reach him not
later than 31st January, 1969.

Form 4, Carifta Shipping Bill/Entry, will no
longer be required for entry or shipment of goods
qualifying for Carifta treatment.
The appropriate forms would be Entry for
Goods Free of Duty and Shipping Bill for Local
Produce.
Importers are advised that they should notify
their suppliers that it is essential that the two
Carifta invoices to be supplied to Customs must
be numbered, stamped and signed by the Customs
authorities of the exporting territory.

be calling upon 'the owners of Private Motor
Vehicles to produce same for inspection under
the authority vested in him by the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic Regulations.
These inspections will begin on the 15th
January by which time the inspection of Public
Service Vehicles is expected to be completed.
Owners of Private Motor Vehicles are requested

Persons wishing to take the training test must register and be interviewed at the Grenada Techni-
cal Centre, Tanteen, between the hours of 8.30 a.m. and 3.00 p.m.-Monday to Friday and 8.30 a.m.
and 12.00 on Saturday.

Consequently this group index rose by .50 units to 129.01.

SECTION 3. Housing : This group index remains 109.54.

SECTION 4. Fuel and Light : This group index remains at 107.85.

Household and Miscellaneous Items : There was a decrease in the price of epsom salts
but the effect of this decrease was over balanced by increases in the prices of chairs
and limacol. As a result this group index rose by .48 units to 115.92.


SECTION 6. Clothing and Footwear : This group index remains at 123.81.

SECTION 7. Services : This group index remains at 115.23.


The All Items Index for November rose by .3 units to 124.0.
