Commonwealth Caribbean Regional Secretariat
Vacancy for Librarian


APPLICATIONS are invited from suitably
qualified persons for appointment to the
post of LIBRARIAN in the Commonwealth
Caribbean Regional Secretariat, Georgetown,
Guyana.
Applicants must be professionally qualified
librarians with experience in all aspects of library
work.
The salary scale atatched to the post of
LIBRARIAN is $6,240 per annum rising by
annual increments of $240 to $7,200 per annum
and the point of entry in the scale will depend on
the qualification and experience of the person
selected. A house allowance of $2,400 per annum
will be paid.
Secretariat staff will not be required to pay
income tax to the Government of Guyana. They
will, however, be required to make payments
monthly to a Staff Assessment Scheme. This
assessment will be computed on the basis of gross
salary, excluding allowances.

fications and details of past experience should be

(Cap. 153)
T is hereby notified for general information
that, in pursuance of the powers vested in
Her under the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(Cap. 153), the Governor acting in accordance
with the advice of the Cabinet of the State of
Grenada has been pleased to appoint Mr.
Raymond Millet to be the Authorised Officer for
the purpose of the acquisition of three lots of
land in the parish of St. Patrick mentioned and
described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

(a) All that lot piece or portion of land situate
at La Taste in the parish of St. Patrick
containing by admeasurement 63 acres
3 roods and 12 poles of land belonging
to or under the control of Mrs. E. E.
Chataway. The said lot of land is bounded
as follows: -
On the north, south and west by the
public main road and on the east
by lands of Windom Robertson,
Mary Richard, Beatrice English
and George Me Intosh.
(b) All that lot piece or portion of land situate

SHEREAS it is provided in effect by section 3
of the Land Acquisition Ordnance
(Cap 153) of the Revised Laws of Grenada that if
the Governor acting in accordance with the advice
of the Cabinet considers that any land should be
required for a public purpose She may cause a
declaration to that effect to be made:

AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor
acting as aforesaid that the lands mentioned and
described in the Schedule hereto should be
acquired for a public purpose, to wit, for the
purpose of establishing a Land Settlement:

Now, THEREFORE, it is hereby declared by the
Governor acting in accordance with the advice of
the Cabinet of the State of Grenada that upon the
second publication of this declaration in the
Gazette, the lands mentioned and described in the
Schedule hereto shall be acquired for the above-
mentioned purpose and shall vest absolutely in
the Crown.

AND IT IS HEREBY further declared and notified
that the lands referred to are situate at La Taste
in the parish of St. Patrick in the State of Grenada
and are about 63 acres 3 roods 12 poles in area,
more or less, and that a plan of the said lot may
be inspected at the Ministry of Communications,
Works and Natural Resources, Saint George's,
between the hours of 9.00 o'clock in the forenoon
to 12.00 o'clock midday and from 1.00 n.m. to
4.00 p.m. from Monday to Friday of each week

Form 4, Carifta Shipping Bill/Entry, will no
longer be required for entry or shipment of goods
qualifying for Carifta treatment.
The appropriate forms would be Entry for
Goods Free of Duty and Shipping Bill for Local
Produce.
Importers are advised that they should notify
their suppliers that it is essential that the two
Carifta invoices to be supplied to Customs must
be numbered, stamped and signed by the Customs
authorities of the exporting territory.

IN accordance with the provisions of the Customs
Ordinance 1960 (No. 35 of 1960) notice is

Government Warehouse separated from the
rest of the building by a partition of B.R.C.
wire and situate to the South of the build-
ings of the fonner Grenada Electricity
Power Station and West of the main road
leading from the Carenage to Tanteen is
hereby declared to be a Transit Shed.

MOTOR VEHICLES

T is notified that the Licensing Authority will
be calling upon the owners of Private Motor
Vehicles to produce same for inspection under
the authority vested in him by the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic Regulations.
These inspections will begin on the 15th
January by which time the inspection of Public
Service Vehicles is expected to be completed.
Owners of Private Motor Vehicles are requested

NOTICE


Tenders for the Scavenging of the Town of
St. George's for the Year 1969

EALED Tenders will be received by the Town
Clerk until 12.00 o'clock noon on the 15th
January, 1969, for the Scavenging of the Town
of St. George's during the year 1969.
The successful Tender will be required to pro-
vide all necessary labour, tools and equipment and
every day to carry out the following work within
the boundaries of the Town of St. George's to
the satisfaction of the Corporation.
1. To sweep all the streets and to remove all
refuse.
2. To scrub all street drains and to keep them
in a sanitary condition.
3. To keep the streets and their edges free from
weed, and to clear over-hanging branches.


S4. To collect all garbage and to dispose of it
at places to be pointed out by the Cor-
poration.
5. To maintain the garbage trucks, and keep
them clean in running condition at all
times.
6. To provide compensation for workers while
working under their control.
Tenders should be addressed to the Town Clerk,
St. George's Corporation, and should be marked
"Tenders' for the Scavenging of the Town.
The Corporation does not bind itself to accept
the lowest or any Tender.

A PPLICATIONS are invited from suitably
Qualified persons for appointment to the post
of Superintendent of Police soon to become vacant
in the State of St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla.

2. Applicants should possess Administrative
experience in Police work and should have a
thorough knowledge of Crime investigation,
including the taking and classification of finger-
prints and should also have some knowledge of
Immigration and Special Branch duties.

SECTION 1.


Food : There were increases in the prices of Irish potatoes and fine salt but the effect
of these increases was offset by reductions in the prices of onions and cocoa powder.
This group index fell by .27 units to 128.51.


SECTION 2. Alcoholic Drinks and Tobacco : There was an increase in the price of wine which
caused this group index to rise by .14 units to 123.67.


SECTION 3.


Housing : There was an increase in the price of Galvanised sheets. Consequently,
this group index rose by .01 units to 109.54.


SECTION 4. Fuel and Light : This group index remains at 107.85.


SECTION 5.


Household and Miscellaneous Items : There were reductions in the prices of Tooth
Paste, Limacol and Dettol, but the effect of these reductions was over-balanced by
increases in the prices of Chairs, Beds, Cooking Utensils, Soap Powder and Eno Fruit
salts. As a result, this group index rose by 2.30 units to 115.44.


SECTION 6. Clothing and Footwear : This group index remains at 123.81.

SECTION 7. Services : This group index remains at 115.23.


The All Items Index for October remains at 123.7.
