NOTICE
In the matter of the Land Acquisition
Ordinance (Cap. 153)
IT is hereby notified for general information that
whereas it was intended by the Governor
acting in accordance with the advice of the Cabinet
of the State of Grenada that the land mentioned
and described in the schedule hereto should be
acquired for a public purpose.
Now, THEREFORE, it is hereby declared by the
Governor acting in accordance with the advice
of the said Cabinet of the State of Grenada
that the intended acquisition of such land be
ABANDONED.
SCHEDULE
All that lot piece or portion of land containing
by admeasurement about 30 acres situate at Grand
Anse in the parish of St. George in the State of
Grenada and believed to be owned by Grand Anse
Estate Ltd. The said lot is bounded as follows :-
On one side by the public main road known as
the Race Course Road" leading to Calliste and
on the left side of the said Road measuring approxi-
mately 3,000 feet, and on the remaining three sides
by lands of the said Grand Anse Estate, measuring
approximately 400 feet on two sides and approxi-
mately 3,000 feet on the remaining side.

T is hereby notified for general information
that, in pursuance of the powers vested in
Her under the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(Cap. 153), the Governor acting in accordance
with the advice of the Cabinet of the State of
Grenada has been pleased to appoint Mr.
Raymond Millet to be the Authorised Officer for
the purpose of the acquisition of three lots of
land in the parish of St. Patrick mentioned and
described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

(a) All that lot piece or portion of land situate
at La Taste in the parisn of St. Patrick
containing by admeasurement 63 acres
3 roods and 12 poles of land belonging
to or under the control of Mrs. E. E.
Chataway. The said lot o' land is bounded
as follows: -
On the north, south and west by the
public main road and on the east
by lands of Windom Robertson,
Mary Richard, Beatrice English
and George Mc Intosh.
(b) All that lot piece or portion of land situate
at Mt. Rose in the parish of St. Patrick
and containing by admeasurement 29 acres
3 roods 12 poles of land belonging to or
under the control of Messrs. Roy Donald
and George Courtenay. The said lot of
land is bounded as follows:--
On the north and east by the public
road,
On the south by a ravine:
On the west by the estate of Henrietta
Wells.

(Cap 153) of the Revised Laws of Grenada that if
tre Governor acting in accordance with the advice
of the Cabinet considers that any land should be
required for a public purpose she may cause a
declaration to that effect to be made:

AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor
acting as aforesaid that the lands mentioned and
described in the Schedule hereto should be
acquired for a public purpose, to wit, for the
purpose of establishing a Land Settlement:

Now, THEREFORE, it is hereby declared by the
Governor acting in accordance with the advice of
the Cabinet of the State of Grenada that upon the
second publication of tilis declaration in the
Gazette, the lands mentioned and described in the
Schedule hereto shall be acquired for the above-
mentioned purpose and shall vest absolutely in
the Crown.

AND IT IS HEREBY further declared and notified
that the lands referred to are situate at La Taste
in the parish of St. Pairi k in the State of Grenada
and are about 63 acres 3 roods 12 poles in area,
more or less, and that a plan of the said lot may
be inspected at the Ministry of Communications,
Works and Natural Resources, Saint George's,
between the hours of 9.09 o'clock in the forenoon
to 12.00 o'clock midday and from 1.00 P.m. to
4.09 p.m. from Monday to Friday of each week
and from 9.00 o'clock in the forenoon to 12.09
o'clock midday on Saturdays.

SCHEDULE


All that lot piece or portion of land situate at

Commonwealth Caribbean Regional Secretariat
Vacancy for Librarian

APPLICATIONS are invited from suitably
qualified persons for appointment to the
post of LIBRARIAN in the Commonwealth
Caribbean Regional Secretariat, Georgetown,
Guyana.
Applicants must be professionally qualified
librarians with experience in all aspects of library
work.
The salary scale atatched to the post of
LIBRARIAN is $6,240 per annum rising by


annual increments of $240 to $7,200 per annum
and the point of entry in the scale will depend on
the qualification and experience of the person
selected. A house allowance of $2,400 per annum
will be paid.
Secretariat staff will not be required to pay
income tax to the Government of Guyana. They
will, however, be required to make payments
monthly to a Staff Assessment Scheme. This
assessment will be computed on the basis of gross
salary, excluding allowances.
Applications (three copies) giving age, quali-
fications and details of past experience should be
addressed to the Secretary-General, Common-
wealth Caribbean Regional Secretariat, 205 Camp
Street, Georgetown, Guyana, to reach him not
later than 31st January, 1969.

made by Nicholas N. Neckles of a lot of land
referred to therein and described in the Schedule

ada on Friday the 17th day of January, 1969 at

NOTICE


Traffic Regulation in the Town of St. George


BY virtue of the power in me vested under
Section 80 (1) of the Motor Vehicle and Road
Traffic Ordinance, Cap. 194 page 2556, the under-
mentioned traffic will be changed in the Town of
St. George as from 18th December, 1968, until
further notice:

ONE WAY STREET

1. Granby Street, between its junctions with
Halifax and Grenville Streets. All veh:cies
travelling along this street will travel in the
direction of Grenville Street only.
2. Grenville Street, between its junctions with
Granby and Hillsborough Streets. All vehicles
travelling along this Street will travel in the
direction of Hillsborough Street only.
Note: All vehicles travelling down Market
Hill shall turn right into Grenville Street.
All vehicles travelling along Grenville Street
from its junction with Gore Street shall travel
straight along Grenville Street and not turn left
into Granby Street.

NO PARKING AREAS

1. Grenville Street, between its junctions with
Hillsborough and St. John's Streets. No vehicle
shall be parked within this area.
2. HillsboroughStreet, between its junctions
with Halifax and Melville Streets. No vehicle
shall be parked within this area.

NOTICE

ALL importers and exporters are notified that
with effect from the 31st December, 1968
Form 4, Carifta Shipping Bill/Entry, will no
longer be required for entry or shipment of goods
qualifying for Carifta treatment.
The appropriate forms would be Entry for
Goods Free of Duty and Shipping Bill for Local
Produce.
Importers are advised that they should notify
their suppliers that it is essential that the two
Carifta invoices to be supplied to Customs must
be numbered, stamped and signed by the Customs
authorities of the exporting territory.

Appointment of Customs Transit Shed


N accordance with the provisions of the Customs
Ordinance 1960 (No. 35 of 1960) notice is
hereby given as follows:-
1. This Notice may be cited as the Customs
(Transit Shed) Notice 1968.
2. One quarter (1) of the building known as the
Government Warehouse separated from the
rest of the building by a partition of B.R.C.
wire and situate to the South of the build-
ings of the former Grenada Electricity
Power Station and West of the main road
leading from the Carenage to Tanteen is
hereby declared to be a Transit Shed.
3. The Queen's Warehouse (Approval) Notice,
1964 dated 16th July, 1964 and published
in the Gazette on 25th July, 1964 is hereby
cancelled.
