The Examinations are scheduled to take place
during the period Monday 2 June, to Friday 27th
June, 1969. However, Oral Tests in French, and
Spanish, and Practical Cookery, will be conducted
before June 2. These dates will be riotitied.
Entry Forms duly completed, must reach the
Local Secretary on or before Tuesday, 31
December, 1968, together with Treasury Receipts
for the Examination Fees. Arrangements satis-
factory to the Local Secretary must be made
beforehand by Private Candidates taking Practical
Tests in Science subjects also Cookery and
Needlework and Dressmaking.
Examination Fees remain the same as in former
years, i.e. Entrance Fees per Candidate: Local
$5, Cambridge $7.20: Subject Fees per subject.
A-Level $7.20, AO and O-Levels $2.40.No late
Entries will be accepted; and no cash remittances,
cheques, paper currency or Money Orders, may
be accepted by the Local Secretary. Candidates
who forward Entry Forms by mail do so at their
own risk.

2. The Government of Ceylon is offering three
post-graduate Scholarships and three under-
graduates Scholarships to students from other
parts of the Commonwealth. These awards are
available in many fields of study. Further
information may be obtained from the Chief
Education Officer, Ministry of Social Affairs,
St. George's.

3. Application forms can be obtained from the
Ministry of Social Affairs and the completed
forms accompanied by the candidate's plan of
study, the certified record of his Secondary
School or University Course he has taken and the
letter of reference from each of three persons
named on the application forms must reach the
Chief Education Officer on or before 23rd
November, 1968.

4. It is the candidate's responsibility to ensure

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the

DEVELOPMENT INCENTIVES (KIRPALANI'S LIMITED) (MANUFACTURE OF
PAPER CLIPS, DRINKING STRAWS AND RUBBER BANDS) ORDER, 1968

2. Definition. In this Order, "the Ordinance" means the Development Incentives Ordinance,
1964 (No. 20 of 1964)
3. Development Company and Enterprise. It is hereby declared that for the purpose of the Ordi-
nance, Messrs Kirpalani's Limited of Church Street in the town of Saint George, in the State of Grenada,
shall be a development company for the purpose of conducting the following development enterprise,
that is to say :-
the manufacture of paper clips, drinking straws and rubber bands.
4. Development Premises. The development premises shall be situate at River Road, Saint
George's.
5. Construction Day. The construction day shall be the 1st day of December, 1968.
6. Production Day. The production day shall be the Ist day of June, 1969.
7. Tax Holiday Period. The date of commencement and the date of termination of the tax holiday
period shall be, respectively, the date of this Order and the thirty-first day of December, 1975.
8. Declared Benefit in regard to Income Tax. The declared benefit in regard to income tax shall
be exemption from the payment of income tax under the Income Tax Ordinance (Cap. 147) to the
extent indicated hereunder on such profits or gains earned from the operation of the development
enterprise which profits or gains fall to be brought into charge to tax during the tax holiday period :-

N OTICE is hereby given in accordance with the provisions of section 6(1) of the Development
Incentives Ordinance, 1964 (No. 20 of 1964) that the Governor proposes to make the order set out
hereunder.
Any person who objects to the making of the said order should give notice in writing to the Secretary
to the Cabinet on or before the 2 2ud day of November, 1968.

STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS, NO. OF 1968

Order made by the Governor under the Authority of section 5 of the Development Incentives
Ordinance, 1964 (No. 20 of 1964).


(Gazetted ).

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the

DEVELOPMENT INCENTIVES (KIRPALANI'S LIMITED) (PRINTING AND PACKING)
ORDER, 1968

2. Definition. In this Order, "the Ordinance" means the Development Incentives Ordinance,
1964 (No. 20 of 1964).
3. Development Company and Enterprise. It is hereby declared that for the purpose of the
Ordinance, Messrs Kirpalani's Limited of Church Srteet in the town of Saint George, in the State ef
Grenada, shall be a development company for the purpose of conducting the following development
enterprise, that is to say :
(a) the operation of a modern printer ;
(b) the manufacture of writing pads, envelopes, exercise books and other similar articles; and
(c) the manufacture of packing boxes.
4. Development Premises. The development premises shall be situate at River Road. Saint George's.
5. Construction Day. The construction day shall be the 1st day of December, 1968.
6. Production Day. The production day shall be the 1st day of June, 1969.
7. Tax Holiday Period. The date of commencement and the date of termination of the tax holiday
period shall be, respectively, the date of this Order and the thirty-first day of December, 1975.
8. Declared Benefit in regard to Income Tax. The declared benefit in regard to income tax shall
be exemptio i from the payment of income tax under the Income Tax Ordinance (Cap. 147) to the
extent indicated hereunder on such profits or gains earned from the operation of the development
enterprise which profits or gains fall to be brought into charge to tax during the tax holiday period :-
Profits brought into charge to tax for the year ending 31st December, 1969 .. 100%
Profits brought into charge to tax for the year ending 31st December, 1970 .. 100%
Profits brought into charge to tax for the year ending 31st December, 1971 .. 75%
Profits brought into charge to tax for the year ending 31st December, 1972 .. 75%
Profits brought into charge to tax for the year ending 31st December, 1973 .. 50%
Profits brought into chatge to tax for the year ending 31st December, 1974 .. 50%
Profits brought into charge to tax for the year ending 31st December, 1975 .. 25%

Owners of such vehicles are advised to pay
inspection fees from now onwards at their
respective District Revenue Offices and then ap-
proach the Inspector of Motor Vehicles at the
Traffic Branch. Fire Station, in advance with a
view to affecting any alteration that may be
necessary to comply with the provisions of the
Motor Vehicles and Road Traffc Ordinance, and
of the Regulations made thereunder.
Vehicles must be presented in a thoroughly
clean condition, and must have been recently
overhauled The body and wings, axle, chassis,
frame steering arms, springs, trackrods, brake
connections. shackles, bolts, nuts, splitpins, engine
engine shield and case, clutch, gearbox magnets,
or coil air filter, carburetter and all working parts
must be cleaned in order to admit of proper ex-
amination. Dust covers, if used must be removed
before presentation in order to admit of an
examination being made in full. All split pins,
etc., must be clearly exposed, also chassis and
engine numbers. Drivers' seats must be securely
fastened so that the driver can have proper con-
trol over the vehicle spot lights, musical horns and
whistles are strictly prohibited. Each vehicle
must have its rate and maximum gross weight
painted in white figures not less than 21 inches
in height upon a black gack ground in a conspi-
cuous place on the right or off-side of the vehicle.
The Registered Identification marks on all
vehicles must conform to provisions of Regula-
tions, 7, 8 and 9 and the Second Schedule to the
Regulations, S.R. & O. No. 151 and be in such a
condition as to render each letter or figure readily
distinguishable. The attention of owners of
Motor Omnibuses and Goods Vehicles is specially
directed to Regulation 23 (11) (a) regarding the
position of front lamps. Spot lights will not be
allowed except with the written approval of the
Licensing Authority.
The attention of the owners of Hiring Cars and
Motor Omnibus is directed to Regulation 50 (2)
of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Regula-
tions S.R. & 0. No. 151 of the Revised Laws of
Grenada which require that printed copies of the
Tariffs and Maximum Fares be displayed in such
vehicles. These are now available and may be
purchased at the Treasury, St. Georges, and at
any District Revenue Offite at 4 cents per copy.
Vehicles which have been found by the
Inspector to have defects must not be used on the
roads until they have been issued with a Certifi-
cate, certifying that the vehicles may be duly
licensed.
