Residential Training Course in Social Work

THE Extra-Mural Department of the University
of he West Indies is offering a 4-month
course in the Principles and Practice of Social
Work. The Course will be held at the Social
Welfare Training Centre, University of the West
Indies, Mona, from January 6th to April 26,
1969.
The Course is designed to meet the needs of
persons working in the broad field of Social
Welfare who have had three or more years'
experience but who have not had the opportunity
of professional training.
The University of the West Indies is offering
twenty-five full scholarships for the Course and
there is a possibility that Grenada will get more
than one.
Interested Social Welfare Organisations are
requested to submit nominations to reach the
Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Social Affairs,
not later than Wednesday 25th September, 1968.

High Court at Grenada, in its Criminal
Jurisdiction, will be held at the Court House in
the town of Saint George on Tuesday the 1st day

Common Market Secretariat

Caribbean Corimon Market Secretariat in St.

N exercise of the powers conferred on me by
paragraph 4 of Schedule 3 ot the West Indies

1. Food : There was a reduction in the retail price of biscuits. Increases occurred in the
prices of ham, fresh fish and onions. This group index rose by 1.45 units to 127.22.

2. Alcholic Drinks and Tobacco : An increase in the retail price of cigarettes caused this
group index to rise by 6.86 units to 121.67.

3. Housing : An increase in the retail price of oil paint caused this group index ro rise
by 2.48 units to 107.55.

4. Fuel and Light : This group index remains at 107.85.

5. Household and Miscellaneous Items : This group index remains at 113.57.

6. Clothing and Footwear : Increases in the retail prices of short sleeve cotton shirts,
vests, wool and part wool material and brassieres caused this group index to rise by
.52 units to 123.57.

7. Services : This group index remains at 115.23.

The All Items Index for May rose by 1.2 units to 122.2.
