RITISH Caribbean Currency Board and
Trinidad and Tobago Notes will shortly
cease to be legal tender in Grenada and the
public is therefore asked to exchange as soon as
possible and free of charge any such notes in


their possession for EASTERN CARIBBEAN
CURRENCY NOTES.
These exchanges can be made at any of the
following Banks in Grenada:

BANK OF NOVA SCOTIA
ROYAL BANK OF CANADA.
The public is asked to co-operate by exchang-

NOTICE


Grenada Agricultural Scholarship, 1968


APPLICATIONS are invited for the above
Scholarship tenable at the Faculty of
Agriculture of the University of the West Indies
from October, 1968.

Applicants should not be over the age of 21
years on 31st December, 1968, but a candidate
not over the age of 27 years who is actively
engaged in Agriculture and has been so engaged
for the preceding three years may be considered.

Applicants should satisfy the minimum
entrance requirements for admission to the
University of the West Indies and should, in
addition, have included in their qualifications:

(i) Chemistry: A pass at Ordinary level or
equivalent; and

(ii) Mathematics: normally a pass at Ordinary
level in G.C.E. Examination, or a pass
(instead of a credit) at a School Certificate
Examination. Passes at Ordinary Level
in Physics and at Ordinary or Advanced
Level in Biological subjects are also con-
sidered desirable but are not essential.

Applications should reach the Education
Officer by 31st July, 1968, and should be accom-
panied by-

(a) Birth Certificate or certified copy thereof;

(b) evidence of British Nationality;

(c) testimonials from two persons other than
school teachers under whom education
was received;

(d) testimonials from the Headteachers of
the schools attended, giving all significant
details of school career.
(e) original certification showing qualifications
for admission to the Faculty of Agriculture
of the University of the West Indies;

(f) A medical officer's certificate showing that
the candidate is in a normal state of
health and fit and strong enough to pursue
Universities studies.

Candidates who expect to obtain entrance
requirements on the results of the 1968 G.C.E.
Examination may apply.

In the matter of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(Cap. 153)
JT is hereby notified for general information that,
in pursuance of the powers vested in her
under the Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153),
the Governor acting in accordance with the advice
of the Cabinet of the State of Grenada has been
pleased to appoint Mr. TERRENCE ARTHUR
LALDEE to be the Authorised Officer for the pur-
pose of the acquisition of the lot of land men-
tioned and described in the Schedule hereto.

All that lot piece or parcel of land containing
by admeasurement 10,458.9 Square Feet English
Statute Measure situate at Newhampshire in the
parish of Saint George in the State of Grenada
believed to be owned by Gerald Gooding, which
said lot of land is as delineated and described in

at the Office of the Ministry of Communications,
Works and Natural Resources, Tanteen, St.
George's, during the hours of 8.30 a.m. to 4.00

NOTICE

PPLICATIONS are invited for the two-year
training course at Mausica Teachers' College,
STrinidad, from September, 1968.
2. Applicants should be 18 years or over and
shouldd have passed the G.C.E Examination at
O-level in at least five subjects including English
Language.
3. Accommodation and meals are provided free
to all students. Successful applicants will each
receive an allowance of $2.40 a day and a free
passage at the beginning and end of the Course.
4. These applicants will also be required to
sign a bond to work for two years in Grenada
after the successful completion of the Course.
5. Applications with two testimonials should
reach he Education Officer not later than 31st
July, 1968.

NOTICE

( OVERNMENT has approved the following
J recommendations in respect of local candidates
writing the Cambridge General Certificate of Educa-
tion Examination:
(i) That there be a qualifying test for all candi-
dates sitting G.C.E for the first time, except
those candidates submitted by the Secondary
Schools.
(ii) That the qualifying test be sat and passed in
August of the year preceding the G.C.E. for
which a candidate would enter.
(iii) That the mechanics of the qualifying test
be worked out by the Education Division of
the Ministry of Social Affairs, Culture and
Community Development.
(iv) That, as from 1969, non-resident candidates
obtain permission from the Education Officer


Grenada, to sit G.C.E. Examination at a
centre in the State after the Chief Education
Ofricer of the candidate's territory has
approved the application.
(v) That the leave! of the qualifying test be decided
on by the Education Officer from time to
time.
2. The time lapse between the date of the quali-
fying test and that of the G.C.E. Examination will
be taken into account in setting the test.
3. Private Candidates wishing to write the 1969
G.C.E. Examination should register with the Educa-
tion Oficer immediately and in any case not later
than 31st July, 1968.
