No. 24 of 1968.-An Act to determine and
regulate the powers, privileges and immu-
nities of both Chambers of the Grenada
Legislature, and of the members thereof;
to regulate the proceedings thereof, to
give protection to persons employed in the
publication of the reports and other papers
of the Legislature; to regulate admittance
to the precincts of the Legislature; and
for purposes incidental to the matters
aforesaid.
No. 25 of 1968.-An Act relating to the
Botanical and Zoological Gardens.

NOTICE

Grenada Agricultural Scholarship, 1968


PPLICATIONS are invited for the above
Scholarship tenable at the Faculty of
Agriculture of the University of the West Indies
from October, 1968.
Applicants should not be over the age of 21
years on 31st December, 1968, but a candidate
not over the age of 27 years who is actively
engaged in Agriculture and has be so engaged
for the preceding three years may be considered.
Applicants should satisfy the minimum
entrance requirements for admission to the
University of the West Indies and should, in
addition, have included in their qualifications:
(i) Chemistry: A pass at Ordinary level or
equivalent; and
(ii) Mathematics: normally a pass at Ordinary
level in G.C.E. Examination, or a pass
(instead of a credit) at a School Certificate
Examination. Passes at Ordinary Level'


in Physics and at Ordinary or Advanced
Level in Biological subjects are also con-
sidered desirable but are not essential.
Applications should reach the Education
Officer by 31st July, 1968, and should be accom-
panied by-
(a) Birth Certificate or certified copy thereof;
(b) evidence of British Nationality;
(c) testimonials from two persons other than
school teachers under whom education
was received;
(d) testimonials from the Headteachers of
the schools attended, giving all significant
details of school career.
(e) original certification showing qualifications
for admission to the Faculty of Agriculture
of the University of the West Indies;
(f) A medical officer's certificate showing that
the candidate is in a normal state of
health and fit and strong enough to pursue
Universities studies.
Candidates who expect to obtain entrance
requirements on the results of the 1968 G.C.E.
Examination may apply.

NOTICE

In the matter of the Land Acquisition Ordinan:e
(Cap. 153)
and
In the matter of a Declaration by the Governor
that certain lands situate at St. George's, in the
State of Grenada and likely to be required for a
public purpose.

Declaration under Sec ion 4 of The Land
Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 153)

FIRST PUBLICATION

WHEREAS it is provided by section 4 of the
Land Acquisition Ordinance that if it appears to
the Governor that any land is likely to be
acquired for any purpose which, in the opinion
of the Governor, is a public purpose and it is
necessary to make a preliminary survey or other
investigation of the land, he may cause a notifi-
cation to that effect to be published in the Gazette
and thereupon it shall be lawful for the Autho-
rized Officer (and his agents, assistants and work-
men) to do all or any of the things provided in the
said section.
AND WHEREAS it appears to the Governor,
acting in accordance with the advice of the
Cabinet of the State of Grenada, that the lands
mentioned and described hereto and likely to be
acquired for the purpose of constructing public
offices which, in the opinion of the Governor
acting as aforesaid is a public purpose and it is
necessary to make a preliminary survey or other
investigation of the said land:
Now THEREFORE, it is hereby notified by the
Governor acting in accordance with the advice of
the Cabinet of the State of Grenada, that the
lands mentioned and described in the Schedule
hereto are likely to be acquired for the purpose
of constructing public offices which, in the opinion


of the Governor acting as aforesaid is a public
purpose and that it is necessary to make a preli-
minary survey or other investigation of the afore-
said lands and to do all or any acts and things
provided in Section 4 of the Land Acquisition
Ordinance (Cap. 153).
SCHEDULE
All that lot piece or portion of land situate at
Moncton Street, St. George's, in the State of
Grenada, belonging to or under the control of the
Home Industries Association.
Dated this 25th day of June, 1968.

Trinidad and Tobago Notes

T)RITISH Caribbean Currency Board and
STrinidad and Tobago Notes will shortly
cease to be legal tender in Grenada and the
public is therefore asked to exchange as soon as
possible and free of charge any such notes in
their possession for EASTERN CARIBBEAN
CURRENCY NOTES.
These exchanges can be made at any of the
following Banks in Grenada:
BARCLAYS BANK,D.C.O.
CANADIAN IMPERIAL BANK OF
COMMERCE
BANK OF NOVA SCOTIA
ROYAL BANK OF CANADA.
The public is asked to co-operate by exchang-
ing their BCCB and Trinidad and Tobago notes
as quickly as possible but are requested not to
crowd the banks.
British Caribbean Currency Board coin will
continue to be legal tender in Grenada.
