TENDERS

Constructing Borehole Control House,
Woodlands


T ENDERS are invited for the erection of a
Control House to Producer Borehold No. 2,
Woodlands, St. George's.
2. Contract Documents, Plans, Specifications etc.,
may by inspected at the Public Works Department,
Tanteen during normal working hours by prospective
tenderers on production of a Treasury receipt
indicating that they have deposited fifteen dollars
($15.00) with the Government of Grenada from
Thursday, 7th November, 1963.
3. The successful tenderer will be required to sign
a written agreement with the Government of
Grenada to carry out the work, and also to provide
security in the sum of not less than 10% of the
contract sum for the due performance of the
contract.
4. Sealed tenders will be received up to 4.00 p.m.
on Thursday, 21st November and must be addressed
to the Chairman, Tenders Board, Ministry oi
Communications and Works, St. George's, Grenada

TENDERS FOR THE CONVEYANCE OF MAILS AND
PASSENGERS BETWEEN CARRIACOU AND
PETIT MARTINIQUE


EALED TENDERS are invited for the convey-
ance of mails, passengers and cargo twice
weekly by auxiliary vessel between Carriacou and
Petit Martinique.
2. Persons and articles shall be conveyed free
when carried on behalf of Government and under
the conditions laid down in the contract.
3. The contract will be for a period of one year
from 1st January to 31st December, 1964.
4. Tenders should be submitted to the Chair-
man, Tenders Board, c/o Ministry of Communica-
tions & Works, St. George's, marked "Tenders for
Carriacou and Petit Martinique Mail Service" by
noon on 23rd November, 1963.

Tenders, for Carriacou Mail and
Passenger Service

SEALED TENDERS are invited for the convey-
ance of mails, passengers and cargo weekly
between Grenada and Carriacou by auxiliary vessel
for the period 1st January to 31st December, 1964,
in accordance with the schedule given hereunder.
2. The vessels to be used for the service must
not be less than 40 tons and must be equipped with
adequate seating accommodation and sanitary
facilities for not less than (30) thirty gsit gers,
and with life boats for passengers and cr W.
3. Supplies including planting material and
equipment for all Government Departments or
Public Offices and Institutions and Wireless
Stations and all personnel travelling on officii
business will be conveyed free of charge.
4. If necessary, the successful tenderer may be
required to make arrangements to transport fuel
oil for the operation of the Electricity Services in
Carriacou, in drums of 45 gallons, and to return the
empty drums to St. George's at a fixed price for
the period of the contract.
5. Tenders should be submitted to the Chairman,
Tenders Board, c/o Ministry of Communications
and Works, St. George's, marked Tenders for the
conveyance of mails, passengers and cargo between
Grenada and Carriacou", by noon on 23rd Novem-
ber, 1963.
6. Government does not bind itself to accept the

Children's Ward, Princess Royal Hospital,
Belair, Carriacou.
Plans, Specifications etc., are available from the

deposit will be refunded to unsuccessful tenderers
on return of tender documents in good condition.

TENDER FOR MOBILE FILM UNIT



TENDERS will be received up to noon on the
S30th November, 1963, for the supply of one
fully-equipped Mobile Film Unit fitted with four-
wheel drive. Other equipment to include the
following:
(a) Two 16 mm. projectors complete with
microphone and three inch lenses.
(b) One 8ft x 6ft matt surface tubular screen
(for installation on the vehicle).
(c) Two re-entrant type loud-peakers.
(d) One Microphone with floor stand and impe-
dance matching unit.
(e) One projector stand.


(f) Floodlighting equipment (including cables and
connectors).
(g) Other accessories and spares relevant to the
above equipment.
Tenders should be addressed to the Chairman,
Tenders Board, Ministry of Communications
and Works, St. George's, in sealed envelol es
marked on the outside 'Tender-Supply of One
Mobile Film Unit.'
The Tender should indicate the period of
delivery.

TENDER

PEARLS AIRPORT CAFETERIA

EALED tenders are invited for lease of the
Pearls Airport Cafet ria which accommodates
a, bar, lunch room and small kitchen. ihe cafe-
teria is provided with a s:ove, two refrigerators,
and necessary furniture.
The lease will be for a period of 3 years and the
successful applicant will he required among other
things:-
(a) to pay for the supply of fuel, electricity
and water and a rental at the rate of 15%
of the value of all furnishing provided.
(b) To have the stall open and to be ready to
supply light refreshments and snacks to
passengers and visitors of the airport one
hour before the arrival of each plane on a
schedule fl ght and up to one hour after
its departure; provided that if he so
desires the tenant may remain open at
any time between the hours of 9 a.m. and
7 p.m. but not later.
A draft copy of the Agreement which the
successful applicant will be expected to sign may
be seen at the ministry y of Communications and
Works.
Tenders should be sealed and marked Tender
for Cafeteria and should be addressed to the
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Communications
and Works.
All tenders should be received at the Ministry of
Communications and Works by 12 noon on 7th
December, 1963.

ST. GEORGE'S CORPORATION
ELECTION OF COUNCILLORS

1. Take notice that I will attend at the Office of
the Corporation, Grenville Street, St. George's on
Thursday, 28th November, 1963, between the hours
of 9.00 a.m. and 12.00 noon for the purpose of
receiving nominations for the return of eight (5)
persons to serve as Councillors, two for each of the
Wards, for the period commencing 6th December,
1963.
2. A person shall not be qualified to be elected
or to be a Councillor unless-
(a) He is entitled to be, and is in fact enrolled
as a burgess; and
(b) He is a British subject by birth or naturali-
zation; and
(c) He is possessed as absolute owner or as a
tenant for life or of some other estate of
freehold of, or in real property assessed to
the house rate at an annual rateable value
of not less than two hundred dollars, or is
the actual tenant of a house a-sessed to the
house rate at an annual rateable value of
not less than two hundred and forty dollars
and as such tenant has bona fide paid within
the preceding twelve months at least one
year's rent in respect of such house; or
alternatively.
(d) He is in receipt of an income of not less than
ore thousand dollars per annum.
3. Every candidate for election shall be nomina-
ted in writing by a duly qualified burgess, seconded
by another.
4. In the event of a contest, polls will be opened
at four stations- to be announced later-one for
each Ward-On Thursday, 5th December, 1963,
between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
during which time ballot Dppers will be issued to
every registered burgess applying for same.

Inspection of Motor Vehicles for the half-yea
period, ending 30th June, 1964



Regulation 22 of the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic Regulations



SWNERS, of public service vehicles (including
motor omnibuses and hiring cars), goxids
vehicles and trailers, are hereby notified that the
half-yearly inspection of these vehicles ill
commence as follows:-

St. George's Fire Station
From 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
Wednesday, 4th December, 1963

Owners of such vehicles are advised to pay
inspection fees from now onwards at their respec-
tive Iistrict Revenue Offices and then approach
the Inspector of Motor Vehicles at the Traffic
Branch, New Fire Station, in advance with a view
to effecting any alterations that may be necessary
to comply with the provisions of the Motor Vobi-


cles and Road Tra'c Ordinqnce, 1938;.and ?,fAi
Regulations made thereunder.
Vehicles must be presented'in a thoroughly-eftt
condition, an'l must have been recently overhauled.
The body and wings, axle, chassis, frame, steering
arms, springs, track od., biako connections,
shackles. bolts, nuts, split pins, engine, engine shield
Sand cise, clutch, gearbox magneto, or coil, air filter,
carburettor and working parts must be cleaned in
order to admit of proper examination. Dust
covers, if used must be removed before presenta-
tion in order eI admit of an examination being
made in full. All split pins, etc., must be clearly
exposed, also chassis aid engine numbers. Driver's
seats must he securely fastened so thet the driver
can have proper control over the vehicle. Spot
lights, musical horns and whistles are stiictly
prohibited. Each Vehicle must have its tare and
maximum gross weight painted in white figures
not less than 21 inches in height upon a black
ground in a conspicuous place on the right or'
offside of the vehicle.
The Registered Identification maiks on all
vehicles must conform to provisions of Regulations
7, 8 and 9 and the Second Schedule to the Regula-
tions, S.R. & O. No. 151 and be in such a condition
as to render each letter or figure readily distinguish-
able. The attention of owners of Motor Omnibuses
and Goods Vehicles is specially directed to Regula-
tion 23 (11) (a) regarding the position of front
lamps. Spot lights will not lie allowed except with
the written approval of the Licensing Authority.
The attention of tLe owners of Hiring Cars and
Motor Omnibuses is directed to Regulation 50 (2)
of the MRotor Vehicles and Road Traffic Regulations,
S.R. & O. No. 151 of the Revised Laws of Grenada
which require that printed copies of the Tariffs of
Maximum Fares le displayed in such vehicles.
These are now available and may be purchased at
the Treasury, St George's, and at any District
Revenue Office at 4 cents per copy.
Vehicles which have been found by the Inspector
to have defects must not be used on the roads
until they have been issued with a Certificate,
certifying that the vehicles may be duly licensed.

Customs and Excise, London, is published for
general information :

IMPORTANT WARNING. Postal Packages
sent to Britain.
If you are posting a package (e.g. a gift parcel)
to Britain you should make quite sure that all the
contents are declared and are correctly described
on the Customs declaration form. If this is not
done the whole package may be confiscated by the
British Customs, thus causing disappointment and
loss for the person who was to receive it.
Rum and other spirits from over 1800 packages
sent from the West Indies and British Guiana were
confiscated in 1962 by the British Cutoms. This
was done because the contents had not been
properly declared.

1. Short title. This Order may bo cited as the
PIONEER INDUSTRIES (AID TO) (MANUFACTURE OF DAIRY
PRODUCTS) ORDER, 1963.

2. Declaration of Pioneer Industry. The manufacture of sterilized milk, recombined milk,
condensed milk, evaporated milk, chocolate milk, light and heavy creams, butter yaourt, Ind cheese is
hereby declared to he a pioneer industry for the purposes of the Pioneer Industries (Aid to) Ordinance
(Cap. 219), and such manufactured products are hereby declared to be pioneer products for the said
purposes.

Made this day of 1963.
