Deepeuiirg Channel To Lagoon,
St. Gorge's Harbour

IENDRRS are invited for the deepening of. ti e
Existing channel leading from the St. George's
Harbour to tho lagoon.
2. The work comprises the removal of sand,
stones or any other material found in the channel
down to a depth of 16'.10" below sea level in
accordance with drawings.
3. Any suitable method may be employed for
clearing'l I e channel, but the excavated material
must be remove I to a site approved by the
Diro:tor of Public Works or his repr: sentative.
4. Contract documents may he inspected after a
bona fide d-posit of $1,.00 with the Government
of Grenada it th, Public Works Department,
Tanteen, St. Georg.'s from October 9th, between
the hours of 9.00 a.m. andi 3.00 p.m. on Monday
through Frily and fr.:m 9.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
on Saturday.
5. The successful tenderer will be required to
sig;i a written agreement with the Government of
Grenada to carr) out the work, and ilbso to provide
security in the sum of not less than 10% of the
contract; sum for the due performance of the
contract.
6. Sealed tenders will be re-.eivod up to Noon on
Saturday, 19th October, 1963 and must be addressed
to the Chairmnn, Tenders Board, Ministry of

COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIPS 1964

APPLICATIONS are invited for Commonwealth
Scholarships tenable in the United Kingdom
from October, 1964.
Most of these awards are for post-graduate
courses and are available in many fields of study.
A few awards are a'so available at the under-
graduate level to students who wish to take
courses not available at the University of the West
Indies.
Application forms are available at the Education
Office and the completed forms accompanied by
the Candidate's plan of study, the certified record
of the university or other course he has taken,


and the references from each of the three persons
named in the relevant question on the application
form mst reach the Elucation Officer on or
before 31st October, 1963.
It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure
that confidential letters from the referees named
in his application reach the Education Officer
(direct from the referee) by 31st October, 1963.

Customs and Excise, London, is published for

IMPORTANT WARNING. Postal Packages
sent to Britain.
If you are posting a package (e.g. a gift parcel)
to Britain you should make qu'te sure that all the
contents are declared and are correctly described
on the Customs declaration form. If this is not
done the whole package may be confiscated by the
British Customs, thus causing disappointment and
loss for the person who was to receive it.
Rum and other spirits from over 1800 packages
sent from the West Indies and British Guiana were
confiscated in 1962 by the British Customs. This
was done because the contents had not been
properly declared.
