NOTICE

TENDERS

Deepenitig Channel To Lagoon,
St. George's Harbour

TENDERS are invited for the deepening of the
existing channel leading from the St. George's
Harbour to the lagocn.
2. The woik comprises the removal cf sand,
stones or any other material found in the channel
down to a depth of 16'.10" below sea level in
accordance with drawings.
3. Any suitable method may he employed for
clearing the channel, but tho excavated material
must be removed to a site approved by the
Director of Public Wo!ks or his representative.
4. Contract documents may he inspected after a
bona fide deposit of $1..00 with the Government
of Grenada at the Public Works Department,
Tanteen, St. George's from Octber 9th, between
the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. on Monday
through Friday and from 9.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
on Saturday.
5. The successful tenderer will be required to
sign a written agreement with the Government of
Grenada to carr5 out the work, and also to provide
security in the sum of not less than 10% of the
contract; sum for the due performance of the
contract.
6. Sealed tenders will be received up to Noon on
Saturday, 19th Octobcr, 1963 and must be addressed
to the Chairman, Tenders Board, Ministry of
Communications and Works, St. George's, Gr nada.
Envelopes must be marked DEEPEN ING
CHANNEL, LAGOON, St. George's Harbour.
7. Government does not bind itself to ace pt the
lowest or any tender.

COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIPS 1964

APPLICATIONS are invited for Commonwealth
Scholarships tenable in the United Kingdom
from October, 1964.
Most of these awards are for post-graduate
courses and are available in many fields of study.
A few awards are a'so available at the under-
graduate level to students who wish to take
courses not available at the University of the West
Indies.
Application forms are available at the Education
Office and the completed forms accompanied by
the Candidate's plan of study, the certified record
of the university or other course he has taken,
and the references from each of the three persons
named in the relevant question on the application
form must reach the Education Officer on or
before 31st October, -1963.
It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure
that confidential letters from the referees named
in his application reach the Education Officer
(direct from the referee) by 31st October, 1963.

sent froir the West Indies and British Guiana were
