Estate in the parish of St. John in the territory of
Grenada being part of lands believed to be owned
by Alfred Harper and measuring 93S sq. ft. in area,
bounded on the North by a Public Road, on the
South by the remaining lands believed to be owned
by Alfred Harper and on the East by a Public
Road and by lands of Clarence Campbell.

T is hereby notified for general information that,
in pursuance of the powers vested in him under
the Land Acquisition Ordinance, 1945, the
Administrator in Council has been pleased to
appoint Mr. JAMES SIMON Ross to be the Author-
ised officer for the purpose of the following lot of
land :
All that portion of land situate at Gouyave
Estate in the parish of St. John in the
territory of Grena6a being part of lands
believed to be owned by Alfred Harper
and measuring 938 sq. ft. in area, bound-
ed on the North by a Public Road, on the
South by the remaining lands believed to
be owned by Alfred Harper and on the
East by a Public Road and by lands of
Clarence Campbell.

1963, they are required to complete Form C 1'-
APPLICATION FOR A BRITISH PASSPORT
ISSUE IN GRE 'A )A, which is available
from the Passport Office, St. George's;
Justices of the Peace and other persons re-
commending the issue of Passports are specially
asked to note the instructions printed on the front
page of the form, and to see that they are carefully
carried out.
In particular, it is to be noted that the written
consent of the father or guardian of an unmarried
person under 21 years of age is required before a
Passport can be issued.

Cocoa Industry Improvement Scheme



Distribution of Rooted Cuttings of Selected Strains
of Grenada Cocoa for Planting in 1964



PERSONS desirous of obtaining planting material
from the Cocoa Stations for planting in 1964,
should apply on the forms provided for that
purpose, entitled : Application Form for plants
Propagated for Distribution by the Department of
Agriculture."
(2) Application forms should be forwarded in
Duplicate to the Cocoa Agronomist, Mt. Home
Cocoa Station, St. Andrew's, to reach him not
later than 31st August, 1963.
(3) Application received after the 31st August,
1963, will neither be acknowledged nor considered.
(4) Application forms are available at the
Department of Agriculture, all Agricultural and
Cocoa Stations, and District Revenue Offices.
Application forms can also be obtained from all
members of the extension staff pf the Department
of Agriculture.
(5) Rooted Cocoa Cuttings are delivered at
cost of 5c. per plant to the applicant at a point,,
near as possible to the site at which they are to be
planted, and accessible at the time to the motor
vehicle conveying the plants.
(6) The conditions under which planting
material will be issued are as follows:-
(i) The area selected by an applicant will be
inspected by an authorised officer as soon
as possible after the receipt of the applica-
tion, for the purpose of determining the
suitability of the site in regards to altitude,
soil type, wind protection and other
ecological and environmental conditions.
The applicant will then be notified whether
or not the area is approved for planting.
(ii) If for stated reasons the area is declared to.
be unsuitable for planting cocoa clones, no
allocation of plants will be made to the
applicant.
(iii) If the area is declared suitable, an author-
ised officer will inform the applicant what,
minimum action is required of him by the
Department of Agriculture, in regard to
provision of ground shade, windbreaks, soil
conservation measure, soil propagation etc.
The Agricultural Department will render all
assistance, guidance and advice in this
connection.
(iv) The minimum area for which plants will be
issued will be that which will contain fifty
(50) rooted cuttings planted at a spacing of
12ft. x 12ft. in a block.
The area to be planted will be re-inspected
by an authorized officer immediately before
the proposed date of delivery of the plants,
for the purpose of ascertaining whether all

conditions have been satisfactorily fulfilled,
and whether the area is in a suitable state
of preparation for planting.
'v) Authorised officers of the Department of
Agriculture, will make periodic ins sections
of the replanted areas, as often as may be
considered necessary, for the purpose of
observing field conditions, the development
of the young plants and advising the grower
on the care and management of the young
plants.
(7) Applicants are advised to take advantage of
the experience already gained in replanting methods
at the Cocoa Stations and other plots, wl'ere
replanting with rooted coona cuttings have already
been undertaken.
Applicants are accordingly invited to visit the
Cocoa Stations and to mike the fullest possible
use of all information that is available,

Please note that:-
A small t..ken charge will be imposed for citrus,
mango, avocado and such economic plants to be
delivered in 1964. This charge bears no relation
to the actual cost of production and will be
imposed Aith a view to stimulate farmers to take
more care of these plan's than in the past, thus
exploiting their full potential.

the following Resolution)

THE following resolution which was passed at a
meeting of the Central Authority is published
for general information:-

RESOLUTION

BE IT RESOLVED that wi h reference to a
Resolution of the Central Authority passed on the
19th day of March, 1963, declaring their decision
to zone the area of land set out and described in
the said Resolution, the Central Authority have
this 19th day of March, 1963, in accordance with
the provisions of the section 13 (1) (b) of the Town
and Country Planning Ordinance, 1946 (No. 3 on
1946), placed a prohibition on the development of
land in the said area, so far as the erection of newf
buildings and the alteration to, extensive repairs
or renewal cf, any building in the said area is
concerned; save as may be granted under the
provisions of section 13 (1) (a) of the said
Ordinance.
