SOTICE is hereby given that a certified copy of
a draft resolution and map fbr the prepara-
tion of a scheme for development of the area
herein described will be open for inspection at the
office of the Central Authority, Public Works
Department, Tanteen, St. George's. between the
hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily (except on
Saturday when the hours will be 10 a.m. to
11.30 a.m.)
Any representations or objections thereto
should be sent in writing to the Secretary and
Executive Officer, Central Authority, Public
Works Department, Tanteen, St. George's,
within fourteen days from the date of this notice.
Description of area :

All that area of land bounded by a line
commencing at the junction of St. George's
main road and the Fontegoy-Bellevue road,
along the Bellevue road to its junction with
the Grand Etang road along the Grand Etang
road to its junction with the Boca road,
along the Boca road to its junction with
Snug Corner, Mt. Parnassus road to its
junction with the Mt. Parnassus estate road
along the Mt. Parnassus estate road to its
junction with the Madigras road and along
the Madigras road to the Good Hope Estate
road and continuing along the Good Hope
Estate road to its junction with the St.
George's main road. Along the St. George's
main road to its junction with the Mt. Airie
Path then along the Mt. Airie Path to its
junction with Hope Vale Estate road then
along Hope Vale Estate road to the La Borie
road to the Dry River Causeway. Then along
the La Borie road to a point on the toprldge
of Calivigny Estate along the rdge in a
westerly direction until it meets the Morne
Jaloux road near the Church then continuing
along the Morne Jaloux road at its junction
with Woburn road. Then along the Springs-
Calivigny road until it meets the Woodlands
Sugar Factory road. Then along the Grand
Anse road to the highest point of Govern-
ment land south of Morne Rouge along the
ridge which forms the. southern boundary
of Government land to a point to the north-
eastern boundary of the Leper Settlement
thence to the sea. along the sea coast to the
point of commencement.

(In all cases, where a road, path or river
is given as a boundary, the scheme shall be
deemed to include an.area, of land 300 feet in
width outsidee the said boundary).

TENDERS are invited to supply menls to
IL members of the G.V.C. during their training
in Camp at Queen's Park from Sunday, 31st March
to Saturday, 27th April, 1963.
2. There will be about seventy (70) members of
the G.V. in Camp during that period and three
i3) meals per day will be required for each member.
3. Tendsrs should statethe kind of meals that
they will be able to serve each day and or any
change that may be mai e in, the, di.t.
(4), The successful applicant will be required to
give a guarantee to ensure that he or she supply
the meals mentioned in the tender and, will be
required to keep a bar for the convenience of
personnel in camp.
(5) Tenders should be sent to the Office of the
Chief of Police not later than Friday, 15th arch,

( u) upon payment of the amount of one pound
or upwards gives a receipt for a sum not

2. It is to be noted that the expression receipt
includes a cash bill for goods purchased at st,;res
or shops or elsewhere, but does not include receipts
in respect of locally grown unmuufactured
products.

workers are concerned, is published for general information.
The index was revised in June, 1957, and is shown hereunder as a new series.

COST OF LIVING FIGURES FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY, 1963


The revised cost of living figure for all items for the month of January, 1963 is 121.23 a rise
of 21.23 points above the base figure for June, 1957, taken as 100.
The following table shows the cost of living index figure at the end o" e Loh month up to June,
1957 as compared with the base year August, 1939 taken as 100; as well as the figures in the series
with the base figure at June, 1957, taken as 100 :-

PRINCIPAL CHANGES DURING MONTH
Food : Due to decreases in the retail prices of blueband margarine, dried pigeon peas and red
rose tea which out-weighed an increase in cjffe3, the index under this group fell by 0.7 point below
the figure for December 1962. The group index figure for the period was therefore 121.
Clothing : There were increases in the retail prices of men's leather shoes and felt hats, women's
leather shoes, brassieres, zephyr and white drill which outweighed decreases in women's vests and
panties, cotton print, plain taffeta and seersucker and resulted in an increase of 1.9 point above the
figure for December, 1962. The group index figure now stands at 131.4.
Fuel anl Cleaning : There was a decrease in the retail price of kerosene which resulted in a
decrease of 0.6 point below the figure for December, 1962. The group index figure is now 122.2.
Drink and Tobacco: There were no changes in the prices of the items in this group. Like
December, 1962 the group index figure of 106.8 remained unchanged.
Miscellaneous Goods : There were increases in the retail prices of iron pots, teacup and saucers
which out-weighed a decrease in flowered edge dinner plates and resulted in an increase of 1.4 point
above the figure for December, 1962. The group index figure is now 122.2-
