DEPARTMENTAL NOTICES

INCOME TAX NOTICE


THE Income Tax Ordinance states:-
Every person chargeable with tax shall,
on or before the prescribed date in every year,
deliver to the Commissioner a true and correct
return of the whole of his income from every
source whatsoever for the year immediately
preceding the year of assessment, and shall, if
absent from the Colony, give the name and
address of an agent in the Colony."
.2. Notices of Return have been sent out by the
Inland Revenue Department, but it is the duty of
taxpayers to ensure that they get such a form and
make a return as required by law. (Forms are
obtainable from the District Revenue Officers).
3. Failure to submit such a Return within the
prescribed time renders the taxpayer liable to a
penalty not exceeding 100% of the tax payable.

NOTICES of Employers Returns have been sent
to all Employers and Heads of Government
Departments, and the cooperation of these
employers is requested so that the returns may be
received at the Inland Revenue Department as
early as possible 'and not later than the 28th
February next.
The Income Tax Ordinance No. 32 of 1956
provides that it shall be the duty of every
eiplcyer to send in such a return. Failure to do
sO within the prHcrtihed period carries a penalty
rib.t exceeding $750.00.

an application for the grant of a theatre licence,.

object to the grant of such licence, and .hall have
the rigit of appearing before the Licensing
Authority at the hearing, personally or by Counsel
or Solicitor and of adducing evidence in support of
his objections.

FOUR (4) bicycles were fund during the years
1961 and 1962 and are now at the Central
l'olice Station, St. George's, where owners are
required to contact the N.C.O. i/c with a view to
claiming them.
Particulars of the bicycles are as follows:-
(i) No. E 4485, Gents Hercules, County blue,
found on Granby Street on 31/3/62.
(ii) No. FF 32689, Female Hercules. Black,
found on St. Juille Street on 4/7/62.
(iii) No. R 17299, Gunman made, Colour-Black,
found on Tyrrel Street on 27/4/61.
(iv) No. B.F. 40867, Gents Raleigh sports
Colour-Black, found on Treasury wharf- on
