Austrian Hlonorary Consulate in Kingston has
been raised to Honorary Consulate-General and
that Mr. RICHARD KHAN has been promoted as
Honorary Consul-Geneial at that post with juris-

Leeward and Windward Islands.
Mr. Khan has been accorded recognition in this
Territory in his consular capacity.

No. 33 of 1962--An Ordinance to validate the
tax collected under Emigration Ordinance,
19;2, and to repeal tie same.
No. 34 of 1962.-An Ordinance further to
lamend the Taxes Management Ordinance.
No. 35 of 1962.-An Ordinance further to
amend the Jury Ordinance.
No. 36 of 1962.-An Crdinance further to
amend the Customs Duties Ordinance,
1958.

Copies of these Ordinances may he seen at the
Government Office, the Public Library, the Treas-
ury, District Revenue Offices, Post Offices and
Police Stations.

INCOME TAX NOTICE



THE Income Tax Ordinance states:-
"Every person chargeable with tax shall,
on or before the prescribed date in every year,
deliver to the Commissioner a true and correct
return of the whole of his income from every
source whatsoever f r the ye'r immediately
preceding the year of assessment, and shall, if
absent from the Colony, give the name and
address of an agent in the Colony."
2. Notices of Return have been sent out hy the
Inland Revenue Dpartment, but it is the duty of
taxpayers to ensure that they get such a form and
make a return as required by law. (Forms are
obtainable from ihe District Revenue Officers).
3. Failure to Submit such a Return within the
prescribed time renders the taxpayer liable to a
penalty not exceeding 100% of the tax payable.

NOTICE

SOTICES of Employers Returns have been sent
to all Emplo\ eis and !leads of Government
I ep:rtments, and the co operation of these
employers is requested so that the returns may be
received at the Inland le enue Depaitment as
early as possible and not later than the 28th
February next.
The Income Tax Ordinance No. 32 of 1956
provides that it shall he the duty of every
employer to send in such a return. Failure to cdo
so wi bin the pr -cribed period carries a penalty
not exceeding $750.00.

1961 and 1962 and are now at the Central
Police Station, St. George's, where owners are
