DEPARTMENTAL NOTICES



INCOME TAX NOTICE



THE Income Tax Ordinance states :-
Every person chargeable with tax shall,
on or before the prescribed date in every year,
deliver to the Commissioner a true and correct
return of the whole of his income from every
source whatsoever for the year immediately
preceding the year of assessment, and shall, if
absent from the Colony, give the name and
address of an agent in the Colony."
2. Notices of Return have been sent out by the
Inland Revenue Department, but it is the duty of
taxpayers to ensure that they get such a form and
make a return as required by law. (Forms are
obtainable from the District Revenue Officers).
3. Failure to Submit such a Return within the
prescribed time renders the taxpayer liable to a
penalty not exceeding 100% of the tax payable.

NOTICE

OTICES of Employers Returns have been sent
to all Employers and Heads of Government
Departments, and the co-operation of these
employers is requested so that the returns may be
received at the Inland Revenue Depaitment as
early as possible and not later than the [28th
February next.
The Income Tax Ordinance No. 32 of 1956
provides that it shall be the duty of every
employer to send in such a return. Failure to do
so within the preF cribed period carries a penalty
not exceeding $750.00.

POSTS OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANTS-
W. I. B. S.

Appointment. Applications are invited from
suitably qualified persons to fill vacancies in the
non-pensionable posts of Technical Assistants,
Windward Islands Broadcasting Service.
Candidates should possess a Diploma in Radio
Technology from a iecognised Technical Schcol or
Correspondence School, or should have had not
less than two years experience as a radio tech
nician engaged in the maintenance of radio trans-
mitters, or equivalent experience.
Salary. The salary of the pest is in the scale
$2,052 x $96-$2,148/$2,292 x 144-$2,724. The
actual point of entry into the scale w ill depend upon
the qualifications and experience of the candidates
selected. The appointment is subject to one year's
probation.
Duties. The officer will be normally assigned
to duties at the main stu:lio and transmitter station
in Glenada, or at one of the relay sub-stations in
St. Vincent, St. Lucia or Dominica. ih officers
will be liable for transfer within the Windward
Islands.
Leave. Vacation leave will be at the rate of 24
days' annually, accumulable to a maximum of 48
days'.
Applications should be addressed to the Secre-
tary to Government, Grenada, and should reach
him not later than 15th January, 1963.


NOTICE

Programme Operator, Windward Islands
Broadcasting Service

APPLICATIONS are invited to fill the vacancies
existing in two posts as Programme/Operator,
Windward Islands Broa-casting Service, Grena:da.
The s lary will be in the scale $1,086 x 60-
$1,506 per annum.
Candidates should possess the Cambridge School
Certificate. Experience in radio is not a necessary
qualification, but previous interest in radio or
electronics as a hobby, and a keen ear for music
will be considered desirable attributes.

Successful candidates will be trained in the
operation of radio receiving equipment, recording
equipment and broadcast studio equipment. Upon
completion of training and after gaining the required
experience, Broadcast Operators will be eligible,
when vacancies exist, for promotion in either
Engineering or Programme Dept.rtments depending
upon individual aptitude of the Operator aid subject
to his having passed any proficiency bar examin-
ations which might apply.
There will be a probationary period of two years.
The person engaged will be required to work
under the direction and supervision of tne Chief
Engineer and to perform such duties as may be
assigned to him from time to time.
Applications should reach the Secretary to
Government, St. George's, Grenada, not later than
15th January, 1963.

NOTIFICATION OF EXECUTION ON
HOUSES AND LAND

OTICE is hereby given that under Section 86
of the St. George's Corporation Ordinance,
buildings which are movable, land and land with
immovable buildings thereon, may be taken in
execution and sold for any rates for 1962 and
previous years, unpaid after the 31st day of
January, 1963.

ALL THAT lot of land containing by estimation
One Rood, situate at Belmont, St. George's and
bounded as described in plan annexed to Indenture
dated 24th August, 1956, made between Elfreda
Jeffrey and Elaine Street of the One Part and
Joseph Trail of the Other Part and recorded in
Deeds and Land Registry, Grenada, in Liber Q7X
at page 439 TOGETHER WITH the buildings
thereon.


The said interest is believed to be an estate in
fee simple and is sold subject to a mortgage dated
3rd May, 1958 and a Deed of Further Charge
dated 29th August, 1958 for securing $6,500.00
with interest at $6.00 per centum per annum from
4th May, 1962 and $1,500.00 with interest thereon
at the rate of $8.00 per centum per annum from
4th May, 1962, respectively both which said mort-
gage and Deed of Further Charge are made
between the Defendant of the One Part and Louise
Veronica Coard of the Other Part but free from
all judgments against the defendant so far as
known.
The sale is subject to the usual conditions, a
copy of which may be seen at this office and to the
REDUCED RESERVE PRICE of $4,009.50.
