lists as finally determined may be seen at the
Office of the St. George's Corporation and the
District Revenue Offices, between the 1st day of
May and the 31st day of July, and that attendance
will be given during that period for the purpose of
receiving the rates and the rents fixed by the St.
George's Corpoiation and the several District
Boards.

THE public is hereby notified that information
concerning nomination of Overseas candidates
for Cadetships at the Royal Air Force College,
Cranwell, and at thb Royal Air Force Technical
College, Henlow, is available for persual aG the
Administrator's Office.
2. Among other requirements, candidates
must :
(a) be within the age limits of 17.2 and 191
years on entry into cadet training;
(b) (i) be members of families established and
resident in the Colony concerned (such
cadetships are not intended f3r the
sons of parents whose connection with
the Colony is only temporary or
official);
(ii) be British subjects or British Protected
persons, an unnma ried;
(iii) have attained the required educational
standard and possess a sound knowledge
of the English language such as will
ensure that they have no difficulty in
understanding normal collo q uial
English, and is using the language as a
conversational medium;
(iv) comply with the medical standards

EDUCATION NOTICE

THE G.E C. Examination will he held in January
1963, and thereafter in Januiiry of each year
instead of in June.
The initial entry fee to the University is one
pound ($4.80). In addition to this entry fee, the
entrance fee for each subject at Ordinary Level is
ten shiilihgs ($2.40) and for a subject at Advanced
Level, twenty-five shillings ($6.00) local fee of
$4.80 is charged for each entry.
Entries fcr the January 1963 Examinatian will
-close on 31st August, and no entry will be accepted
after that date.

Hall Estate in the parish of Saint Mark in the
island of Grenada containing by estimation forty
acres English Statute Measure and abutted and
bounded on one side by the Public Byeway on a
second side by lands of Oliver Hutchinson Wade
and Kathleen Wade on a third side by lands of
Robert Frederick on the fourth side by Bocage
Estate and on the fifth or remaining side by the
Saint Mark's River.

Cocoa Industry Improvement Scheme


Distributiin of Rooted Cuttings of Selected Strains
of Grenada Cocoa for Planting in 1963

SERSONS desirous of obtaining Planting 1 material
i1om the Cocoa Stations for planting in 1963,
should apply on the forms provided for that
purpose, entitled: Application Form for Plants
Propagated for Distributicn by the Department of
Agriculture."
(2) Application forms should be forwarded in
Duplicate to the Cocoa Agronomist, Mt. Horne
Cocoa Station, St. Andrew's, to reach him not
later than 31st August, 1962.
(:) Applications received after the 31st August
1962, will neither be acknowledged nor considered

(4) Application forms are available at the
Department of Agiiculture, all Agricultural an
Cocoa Stations, and District Revenue Offices.
Application forms can also be obtained from all
members of the extension staff of the Department
of Agriculture.
(5) Rotted Cocoa Cuttings 'ire delivered at a
cost of 5c. per plant to the applicant at a point, as
near as possible to the site at which they are to be
planted, and accessible at the time to the motor
vehicle conveying the plants.
(6) The conditions under which Planting Mate-
rial will be issued are as follows:--
(i) The area selected by an applicant will be
inspected by an anthorised officer, as soon
as possible after the receipt of the applica-
tion, for the purpose of determining the
suitability of the site in regards to altitude,
soil type, wind protection and other ecologi-
cal and environmental conditions. The
applicant will then be notified whether or
not the area is approved for planting.
(ii) If for stated reasons the area is declared to
be unsuitable for planting cocoa clones, no
allocation of plants will be made to the
applicant.
(iii) If the area is declared suitable, an author-
ised officer will inform the applicant what
minimum action is required of him by the
Department of \Agriculture, in r.n:;d to
provision of ground shade, windbreakss, soil
conservation measures, soil prepare ation e c.
The Agricultural Department will render all


assistance, guidance and advice in this
connection.
(iv) The minimum area for which plants will be
issued will be that which will contain fifty
(50) rooted cuttings planted at a spacing of
12ft. x 12ft. in a block.
The area to be planted will he re-inspected
by an au horised officer immediately before
the proposed date of delivery of the plants,
for the purpose of ascertaining whether all
conditions have been satisfactorily fulfilled,
and whether the area is in a suitable state
of preparation for planting.
(v) Authorised officers of the Department of
Agiculture will make periodic inspections
of the replanted areas, as often as may be
consilere i necessary, for the purpose of
observing field conditions, the development
of the young plants and advising the grower
on the care and management of the young
plants.
(vi) Applicants are advised to take advant ige of
the experience already gained in replanting
methods at the Coco Stations and other
plots, where replanting with rooted cocoa
cuttings have already been undertaken.
Applicants are accordingly invited to visit
the Cocoa Stations and to make the fullest
possible use of all information that is
available.
