PIGAULT DE BEAUPRE has been appointed
as Consul-General of Belgium at Kingston with
jurisdiction including Trinidad and Tobago, Barba-
dos, Antigua, Montserrat, Sb. Kitts, Dominica,
Grenada, St. Vincent and St. Lucia, and has been
accorded provisional recognition in this territory in
his consular capacity pending the issue of the
Queen's Exequatur.

PERSONS intending to travel to Jamaica are
Shereby notified that a valid, standard, inter-
national certificate of vaccination against Smallpox
is required of each passenger arriving in Jamaica
from Grenada.

TENDERS are invited for the construction of a
Medical Visiting Station at Grand Anse.
Plans, specifications etc. are available from the
Public Works Department to bona fide tenders who
can show Treasury deposit receipts of fifteen
dollars ($15.00). This deposit will be refunded to
unsuccessful tenderers on return of plans etc., in
good condition.
All tenders must reach the Chairman, Tenders
Board at the Ministerial Building not later than
noon of Tuesday, 10th July, 1962.
The Tenders Board does not bind itself to accept
the lowest or any tender.

NOTICE

THE public is hereby notified that information
concerning nomination of Overseas candidates.
for Cadetships at the Royal Air Force College,
Cranwell, and at the Royal Air Force Technical
College, Henlow, is available for persual at the
Administrator's Office.
2. Among other requirements, candidates
must:
(a) be within the age limits of 17 and 191
years on entry into cadet training;
(b) (i) be members of families established and
resident in the Colony concerned (such
cadetships are not intended for the
sons of parents whose connection with
the Colony is only teiaporary or
official);
(ii) be British subjects or British Protected
persons, and unmarried;
(iii) have attained the required educational
standard and possess a sound knowledge
of the English language such as will
ensure that they have no difficulty in
understanding normal collo q uial
English, and is using the language as a
conversational medium;
(iv) comply with the medical standards
prescribed for admission to the R. A. F.

NOTICE is hereby given that the assessment
lists as finally determined may be seen at the
Office of the St. George's Corporation and the
District Revenue Offices, between the 1st day of
May and the 31st day of July, and that attendance
will be given during that period for the purpose of
receiving the rates and the rents fixed by the St.
George's Corporation and the several District
Boards.

DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE

Cocoa Industry Improvement Scheme

Distribution of Rooted Cuttings of Selected Strains
of Grenada Cocoa for Planting in 1963

PERSONS desirous of obtaining Planting Material
f-om the Cocoa Stations for planting in 1963,
should apply on the forms provided for that
purpose, entitled: Application Form for Plants
Pirdpgaitt for Distribution by the Department of
Agriculture."
2) Application forms should be forwarded in
Duplicate to the Cocoa Agronomist, Mt. Horne
Cocoa Station, St. Andrew's, to reach him nct
later than 31st August, 1962.
(3) Applications received after the 31st August,
1962, will neither be acknowledged nor considered.
(4) Application forms are available at the
Department of Agriculture, all Agricultural and
Cocoa Stations, and District Revenue Offices.
Application forms can also be.- obtained from all
members of the extension staff of the Department
of Agriculture.
(5) Rotted Cocoa Cuttings are delivered at a
cost of 5c. per plant to the applicant at a point, as
near as possible to the site at which they are to be
planted, and accessible at the time to the motor
vehicle conveying the plants.
(6) The conditions under which Planting Mate-
rial will be issued are as follows:-
(i) The area selected by an applicant will be
inspected by an authorised officer, as soon
as possible after the receipt of the applica-
tion, for the purpose of determining the
suitability of the site in regards to altitude,
soil type, wind protection and other ecologi-
cal and environmental conditions. The
applicant will then be notified whether or
not the area is approved for planting.
(ii) If for stated reasons the area is declared to
be unsuitable for planting cocoa clones, no
allocation of plants will be made to the
applicant.
(iii) If the area is declared suitable, an author-
ised officer will inform the applicant what
minimum action is required of him by the
Department of Agriculture, in regard to
provision of ground shade, windbreaks, soil
conservation measures, soil preparation etc.
The Agricultural Department will render all
assistance, guidance and advice in this
connection.
(iv) The minimum area for which plants will be
issued will be that which will contain fifty
(50) rooted cuttings planted at a spacing of
12ft. x 12ft. in a block.
The area to be planted will he re-inspected
by an authorised officer immediately before
the proposed date of delivery of the plants,
for the purpose of ascertaining whether all
conditions have been satisfactorily fulfilled,
and whether the area is in a suitable state
of preparation for planting.

(v) Authorised officers of the Department of
Agiculture will make periodic inspections
of the replanted areas, as often as may be
consider necessary, for the purpose of
observing field conditions, the development
of the young plants and advising the grower
on the care and management of the young
plants.
(vi) Applicants are advised to take advantage of
the experience already gained in replanting
methods at the Cocoa Stations and other
plots, where replanting with rooted cocoa
cuttings have already been undertaken.
Applicants are accordingly invited to visit
the Cocoa Stations and to make the fullest
possible use of all information that is
available.

POLICE NOTICE

THE attention of the Public is drawn to Section
10 (1) (a) and (b) of the Motor Vehicles and
Road Traffic Ordinance No. 2 of 1938 which if not
complied with, will make the registered owner of
a motor vehicle liable to prosecution for failing to
obtain the relevant motor vehicle licence and or
third party insurance risks.
The section read as follows:-
10. (1) On the change of possession of a motor
vehicle otherwise than by death:-
(a) The motor vehicle shall not be used for
more than seven days after such change of
possession unless the new owner is regis-
tered as the owner thereof.
(b) The registered owner and the new owner
shall within 7 days after such change
of possession make application in writing
signed by both of them lo the Licensing
Authority giving the name and address of
the new owner and the date of change of
possession and such application shall be
accompanied by the certificatee Uf Registra-
tion and the prescribed fee. The Licensing
Officer shall thereupon by endorsement of
the Certificate of Registralion and entry
in the Register substitute the name of the
new owner for that of the registered owner
and shall date and initial the substitution
and from such date the new owner shall for
all purposes be deemed to be the registered
owner of the motor vehicle described in the
relevant entry in the Register and in such
Certificate of Registration :
Provided that where the ownership in
any motor vehicle is transferred under any
legal or judicial process the application


aforesaid may be made by the new owner
alone subject to the other provisions of this
section being complied witl .

nance, I hereby give notice that a copy of the
diagram and report of Norris R. Williams, Assistant
Surveyor, Public Works Department, of a survey
made at the request of Mr. Irvin Bishop on the
5th April, 1961, of a lot of land situate at Marl-
mount, in the parish of St. David has been lodged
in the Office of the Chief Registrar of the Supreme
Court of the Windward Islands and Leeward
Islands at Grenada.

N accordance wiih the provisions of the Customs Ordinance 1960 (No. 35 of 1960) the following
notice is hereby given.


1. This notice may be cited as the Customs (Private Warehouse Notice (No. 2) of 1962.
2. The Buildings and Places specified in the Schedule are hereby appointed to be
Warehouses for the purposes of the Customs Laws.
