CARNIVAL REGULATIONS

1THE public are hereby warned that the following
acts constitute offences against the law:-
(a) Celebrating Carnival before 5.00 a.m. on the
Monday preceding Shrove Tuesday or after
midnight on Shrove Tuesday;
(b) Lighting or keeping alight any bonfire in any
public place on the Sunday preceding Shrove
Tuesday, commonly known as "Cannes
Brulees."
(c) Singing of indecent, immoral or libellous -
songs;
(d) Carrying of whips, sticks, or other offensive
weapons;
(e) Dressing or disguising as a person of the
opposite sex;
(f) Blowing of any noisy instruments (including
conch shells) BETWEEN MIDNIGHT ON
SATURDAY PRECEDING THE CARNI-
VAL AND 5.00 a.m. ON MONDAY OF.
CARNIVAL;
(g) Discharge, let off or assist in the discharging
of, or letting off of, any fireworks (which
expression shall include fireworks locally
known as bombs ") or anything of a like
kind or nature.

AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES ORDINANCE


NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with paragraph (a) of sub-section (2) of Section 3 of the Aid
to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952 (No. 19 of 1952) that the Administrator in Council proposes
making the Order set out hereunder. Any person who objects to the making of the said Order should
give noticein writing of his objections to the Clerk of the Executive Council on or before the 19th day
of March, 1962.

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the
AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES (MANUFACTURING AND MARKET-

ING OF SOAPLESS LIQUID AND POWDERED DETERGENTS

AND OTHER CLEANSING PREPARATIONS) ORDER, 1962.

2. Declaration of Pioneer Industry. The manufacturing and marketing of Soapless liquid and
powdered detergents and other cleansing preparations is hereby declared to be a pioneer industry for
the purpose of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952; and such manufactured products are
hereby declared to be pioneer products for the said purposes.

AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES (MARINE DRY DOCK) ORDER, 1962.

2. Declaration of Pioneer Industry. Marine dry dock facilities for the maintenance and repair
of vessels and for boat building are hereby declared to be a pioneer industry, and the products of such
facilities are hereby declared to be pioneer products for the said purpose.

No. 1832, price 6d.), provides for the distribution of
compensation payable by'the Roumanian' Goveri-
ment under the Anglo-Roumanian Agreement of the
10th of November, 1960(Cmnd. 1232).
The Agreement provide'1 I':r.t e payment of I er
Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom
by the Roumanian GcvernmnLnb nt the sum of
1,250,000 in full and fiial settlement of the
following :
(a) All obligations of the icumanian Government
to the United Kingdom and British nationals
in respect of claims, other than those referred
to in the Schedule to the Agreement, arising
out of or presented under Article 24 of the
Treaty of Peace with Roumania.
(b) All claims, other than those referred to in the
said Schedule, in respect of British property
affected prior to the 10th of November,
,1960, by any measure of nationalisation,
expropriation, State administration liquid-
ation, or other similar measure taken by the
Roumanian Government.
The claims referred to in the Schedule are those
of the British nationals there named and are in
respect of property, rights and interests, including
debts, connected with direct ownership of or parti-
cipation in oil companies in Roumania.
The compensation is payable by the Roumanian
Government in six annual installments beginning on
the 31st January, 1962, and these will be dis-
tributed at suitable intervals..

T is hereby notified for general information that
the lMagistrate, Southern District will hold a
special session at the Magistrate's Court, St.
George's, On Tuesday, 10th April, 1962, at 9.00
o'clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of hearing
objections to, and appeals against the Assessment
made by the Tax Officer.
Any person desirous of making objections to, or
appealing against an assessment should give notice
in writing to the Magistrate not later than 30th
March, 1962 of his intention.
