T HE Right Honourable the Secretary of State
for the Colonies has notified the Administrator
that the Queen will not be advised to exercise Her
Majesty's powers of disallowance with respect to
the following Ordinances of the Grenada Legisla-
ture :-
No. 14 of 1961-An Ordinance to restrict the
making and disposing and importation of
flick knives and other dangerous weapons.
No 23 of 1961-An Ordinance to provide for the
Management, Control and Supervision of
Pearls Airport.
No. 25 of 1961-An Ordinance further to amend
the Customs Duties Ordinance, 1958.

NOTICE

The Foreiga Compensation (Egypt) (Interim Distribution)
(Amendment) Order, 1961



T HE abovenamed Order in Council was made on the 27th November, 1961, to provide for increased
interim payments of compensation with respect to claims established under the Foreign Com-
pensation (Egypt) (Determination and Registration of Claims) Order, 1959. The interim payments
now authorised are shown in the undermentioned revised Schedule:-

SCHEDULE


Where the amount of the loss assessed by the
Commission under the Determination Order
(1) does not exceed 5,000
(2) exceeds 5,000 but does not exceed 50,000

(3) exceeds 50,000 but does not exceed 500,000

(4) exceeds 500,000


... The sum calculated shall be:
... 90 per cent of the amount assessed.
... 4,500 and 60 per cent of the balance of
the amount assessed over 5,000.
... 31,500 and 35 per cent of the balance of
the amount assessed over 50,000.
... 189,000 and 20 per cent of the balance of
the amount assessed over 500,000.

NOTICE

Recruiting for British Army in
The West Indide

IT is hereby published for general information
that a Recruiting Team is expected to visit
Grenada later in the year for the purpose of
recruiting personnel for the British Army, under
the following condition :
(a) Recruits must be unmarried;
(b) fluent English is required ;
(c) those accepted will be enlisted as re-
druits, and their passage to England
will be paid.
(d) Birth Critificates are required ;
(e) advance action to obtain Passports
should be taken.
2. A further notice will be issued when thb
exact date for the visit of the Recruiting Team is
known.

NOTICE


The Foreign Compensation
Order, 1961


(Roumania)


FTHE above Order in Council, obtainable from
. Her Majesty's Stationery Office (-.I., 1961,
No. 1832, price 6d.), provides for the distribution of
compensation payable by the Roumanian Govern-
ment under the Anglo-Roumanian Agreement of the
10th of November, 1960 (Cmnd. 1232).
The Agreement provided for the payment of tier
Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom
by the Roumanian Government of the sum of
1,250,000 in full and final settlement of the
following :
(a) All obligations of the Roumanian Government
to the United Kingdom and British nationals
in respect of claims, other than those referred
to in the Schedule to the Agre-ment, arising
out of or presented under Article 24 of the
Treaty of Peace wiLh Roumania
(b) All claims, other than those referred to in the
said Schedule, in respect of British property
affected prior to .the 10th of November,
1960, by any measure of nationalisation,
expropriation, State administration liquid-
ation, or other similar measure taken by the
Roumanian Government.
The claims referred to in the Schedule are those
of the British nationals there named and are in
respect of property, rights and interests, including
debts, connected with direct ownership of or parti-
cipation in oil companies in Roumania.
The compensation is payable by the Roumanian
Government in six annual instalments beginning on
the 31st January, 1962, and these will be dis-
tributed at suitable intervals.


The Order in Council empowers the Foeignr
Compensation Commission, I Princes Gate,Lofidon.
S.W. 7., to receive applications to participate in
the distribution of compensation, from individuals,
corporations, firms and associations and to de-
termine claims in accordance with the Order.
Prospective applicants should write to the Com-
mission as soon as possible.
Applications under the Order must reach the
Commission on or-before the 1st October, 1962.

Ordinance

N pursuance of section 21 (2) of the above
Ordinance, I hereby give notice that a copy of
the diagram and report of Norris R. Williams,
Assistant Surveyor, Public Works Pepartment,
of a Survey made at the request of Mrs. Virginia
Japal on the 15th September and 27th November,
1961, showing the boundary line AB" between
lands of Mrs. Virginia Japal on the east and Mrs.
Florie Ferguson and Mr. Esau Benjamin on the
West, situate at Walker, St. Andrew's, has been
lodg d in the office of the Chief Registrar of the
Supreme Court of the Windward Islands and
Leeward Islands at Grenada.

UNDER THE BOUNDARIES SETTLEMENT ORDINANCE

N pursuance of section 21 (2) of the above Ordin-
ance, I hereby give notice that a copy of the
diagram and report of Norris R. Williams, Assistant
Surveyor, Public Works Department, of a Survey
made at th' request Of Mr. E. D. B. Harford on the
15th June, 196'J, and the 25th August, 1961, to
determine the boundary between Vendome Estate
and lands of Mr. Marvin Penny, formerly prt of
the said Fstate, has been lodged in the Office of
the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of the
Windward Islands and Leeward Islands at Gren-
ada.

BY Order made the 10th day of July, 1961, there
will be offered for sale at this Office, on Friday
the 2nd day of March, 1962, at 12 o'clock noon
all the right title and interest of the defendant to
and in a leasehold lot of land known as Glebe
Crown Lands situate at Paddock in the parish of
Saint George in the island of Grenada containing
by admeasurement One Rood and Twenty-seven
Poles or 18,240 square feet bounded as the same
is delineated and described in a plan marked "X"
annexed to an indenture of Lease dated 26th June,
1960, made between James Montieth Lloyd Admin-
istrator of Grenada of the One part and the
defendant of the Other parb and recorded in the
Deeds and Land Registry of (Grenada in Liber E 10
at page 383 together with the buildings thereon.
The said interest is sold subject to a mortgage
dated the 7th day of July, 1960, and made between
the defendant of the One part and the Granada
Co-operative Bank Limited of the Other part and
recorded in Liber D 10 at page 637 whereundcr
there is now due the principal sum of $48,200.00
with interest thereon at $7.00 per centum per
annum from the 30th day of June, 1961, and free
from all judgments against the defendant so far as
they are known.

copy of which may he seen at this office and to the
Reduced BESERVE PRICE $139,963.85
