(a) the said purchase price plus ten per cent thereof,
(b) all expenses of and incidental to the sale, before
the expiration of three months from the date of
sale, the properties sold shall at the end of the
stipulated period vest absolutely in the purchasers.

Conditions of Service Attaching to the Post of
Nursing Superintendent, Dominica
APPLICATIONS are invited from suitably qual-
ified persons for appointment to the post of
Nursing Superintendent, Dominica, particulars of
which are as follows:-
1. Appointment. The post is non-pensionable.
Appointment will be for a period of three years
in the first instance.
2. Duties. The duties of the post would in-
(a) Directing and supervising the trained
(b) Supervising the activities of the District
Nurse/Midwives, as well as instructing
them in educating their patients in
(c) Responsibility for health instruction in
schools and at adult community
The officer will be directly responsible to the
Senior Medical Officer and will be required to
perform any other duties assigned to her from
time to time by the Administrator through the
head of her Department.
3. Salary. Salary is in the scale $3228 x 144-
$3948. Candidate selected will receive salary at
an appropriate point in the scale depending on
qualifications and experience. Preference will be
given to candidates with S.R.N. and S.C.M.
4. Allowances. Travelling and subsistence
allowance are payable in accordance with approv-
ed travel on duty.
5. Quarters. Quarters are not provided.
Should Government quarters become available
rental would be charged at the rate of 10% of
salary or 5% of the assessed value of the quarters,
whichever is less.
6. Leave. Vacation leave on full salary will be
granted at the rate of one week in respect of each
completed period of 3 months service.
7. Passages. Free passages to Dominica will
be provided and free return passages to place of
recruitment on successful completion of period of
8. Medical Attendance. Free medical attend-
ance and medicines are not provided.
9. General Information. Government officials
are liable to taxation imposed by local enactments.

should reach him not later than 15th February,

NOTICE is hereby given that a Session of the
Supreme Court of the Winrdwlrd Islands and
Leeward Jslands at Grenada, in its Criminal Juris-
diction, will be held at the Court House in the
town of St. George on Tuesday, the 6th day of
February, 1962, at 9.30 o'clock in the forenoon when
and where all concerned and bound over to prosecute
or to give evidence or summoned as Jurors or
witnesses are required to give their personal
attendance, and all officers who have taken Inqui-
sitions, Depositions, Examinations, Recognizances
or other papers cognizable by the Court are
required to return the same without delay to this

workers are concerned, is published for general information.
The index was revised in June, 1957, and is shown hereunder as a new series.

COST OF LIVING INDEX FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER, 1961
The revised cost-of-living index figure for all items for the month of December, 1961, is 116;55
a rise of 16.55 points over the base figure for June, 1957, taken as 100.
The following table shows the cost-of-living index figures at the end of each month up to June,
1957 as compared with the base year August, 1939 taken as 100; as well as the figures in the new
series with the base figure at June, 1957, taken as 100:-

PRINCIPAL CHANGES DURING MONTH
Food: There were no change in the retail prices of the items under this group during the
period under review. The index figure of 113.7 for November remained unchanged.
Clothing: There was no change in the retail prices of the items in this group during the
month. The group index figure of 129.5 therefore remained unchanged.
Fuel and Cleaning: There were no change in the retail prices of the items in this group during
the period under review. Like October, 1961 the group index figure remained unchanged at 119.5.
Drink and Tobacco: There were no changes in the retail prices of the items in this group
during the month. The November index figure of 101.7 therefore remained unchanged.
Miscellaneous Goods: During the period under review, the average level of prices of articles
under this group remained unchanged. The group index figure was the same as November, 1961 or 125.7.
