Regulation 22 of the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic Regulations, 1938


SWNERS of public service vehicles (including
motor omnibuses and hiring caps) goods
vehicles and trailers, are hereby notified that the
half-yearly inspection of these vehicles will com-
mence as follows:-

to comply with the provisions of.the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic Ordinance, 1938, and of the
lRegulations made thereunder.


Vehicles must be presented in a thoroughly clean
condition, and, must have been recently overhauled.
The body and wings, axle, chassis, frame, steering
arms, springs, trackrcds, brakec nnections, shackles,
bolts, nuts, split pins, engine, engine shield and
case, cluch, gearbox, magneto or coil, :tir filter,
carburettor and all working parts must be cleaned
in o der to admit of proper examination. Dust
covers, if used, must be removed before presentation
in order to admit of an examination being made in
full. All split pins etc., must be clearly exposed,
also chassis and engine numbers. Drivers' seats
must he securely fastened so that the driver
can have proper control over the vehicle. Spot
lights, musical horns hnd whistles ale strictly
prohibited. Each vehicle must have its tare and
maximum gross weight painted in white figures not
less than 2i inches in height upon a black ground
in a conspicuous place on the right or offside of
the vehicle.
The. Registered Idetification marks on all
vehicles must conform. to provisions of Regulations
7, 8 and 9 and the Second Schedule to the Regula-
ticns,, No. 35 of 19p5, apil be in such a condition
as to, repder- each, letter or figure readily dis-
tinguishable. The attention of owners of motor
omnibuses and goods vehicles is specially d rected
to Regulation. 23 (1 L) (a) regarding, the. position, of
)frQnt lamps..lpot lights will, nob be allowed except
withe written approval, of, tbhe Licensing
Authority.
The, attention, of the, owners oqf hiripn- ears and
motor omnibuses is directed to the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic (Amendment) Regulations, No. 6
of 1944, as amended by the Motor Vehicles and
Road Traffic ( Amendmeant No. 2 ) Regulations,
No. 70 of 1946, which require that printing copies
of the tariffs of maximum fares be displayed' in
such vehicle^ These- are now 4ailablbe and, may

apy, IDitript, I pqerup. Qffice, at. 4 cents;per copy.
Vehicles which have been found by the Inspeotor
to have defect must not be used on the roads until
they have been issued with a certificate,: certifying
that the vehicles may be duly licensed.

Leeward Islands at Grenada, in its Criminal Juris-
diction, will be held at the Court House in the
town of St. George on Tuesday, the 6th day of
February, 1962, at 9.30 o'clock in the forenoon when
and where all concerned and bound over to prosecute
or to give evidence or summoned as Jurors or.

attendance, and all officers who have taken Inqui-
sitions, Depositions, Examinations, Recognizances
